Are you seriously thinking about getting one? No judgment. I am in a wow place. Our space is so tight right now and we unfortunately had some set backs so we can’t move for another year. I considered it for a hot second but DNW my kids in my bed space. There has got to be another way. Maybe I should start a thread. Trundle beds?

There was an episode of the podcast Criminal where a woman spent years and years of her young adult life trying to stop identity theft. When her mom died, she found out it was her mom who had stolen her identity. Oh yeah. That was crazy.

I’m not leaving my kids with shitty debt tied to their SS but I did leave my house a mess for my ILs. They’d re staying with the kids while H and I got to a wedding in NYC. So that’s my confession: We are leaving town today and I did not tidy up my house or leave food for my ILs or my children. Why? Are they not doing you a favor I’m an asshole. No, it’s shitty, I know. That’s why I’m going to go home early before meeting H. I’ll pick up as much as I can and leave them with the basics for meals.

It's like you read one sentence and then make up all kinds of stories in your head about other shit not even said in the one sentence. I’m talking in general. In regards to the people that do it...

Luckily I learned she was a piece of shit years ago. So now I just roll my eyes and blow her off. We didn’t speak at all from age 13-24 It's not too hard to see why. Goodness.
Your mother sounds a lot like my stepmother by the way. We should get a beer some day and share war stories and then go egg their houses.

We only speak because I still regularly visit my grandmother who lives next door. That’s it.

Sometimes details are left out and then it's mayhem. It was a lame confession because as soon as I posted it I realized it’s kind of untrue since I am going to remedy the situation before we leave. I’m bad at confessions because I have to much guilt and usually fix whatever it was I was going to confess.

SO did suggest our wedding theme should just be “money” just to fuck with her and my sister for their asshattery. I considered it thoroughly 😂

My company has not made money in like 4 years so we don't do any unnecessary spending like holiday parties or people expensing things. A new general manager started a month ago and he's under a different impression because almost every day he orders lunch for 5 of us in the admin office and expenses it. I'm the one who codes the bills, last month was over $1,000 in food. Confession is that I wish he would stop for our bottom line, but I also love the food and don't want it to stop lol

My kid got two gold rings for his first birthday, which is a tradition in my culture. I have no idea what to do with them - I guess I’ll put them someplace safe and give them to him when he’s older? I’m pretty sure my mom sold mine at some point since I never saw them.

I’m kind of shocked at how many people get cash for their newborns/kids? Never have I ever been given straight up money for my kid as a gift. Target gift card maybe. I think we've received maaaaybe $200 in cash between both kids.

Sometimes I think I’m not the best parent but then I think I’m not running up debt in their names, leaving them outside all day with no sunscreen, or putting koolaid in their bottles. All of which I’ve seen. #perspective

I’m pretty sure my mom sold mine at some point since I never saw them. This is my family and pearls. Not a pearl necklace, just individual pearls. You're supposed to make a necklace with them as you collect them over the years, but they are just sitting in storage somewhere. I should really find them and sell them, but I don't think they are worth enough for the effort.

I have a probably lame confession. I bought a queen size bed for my 3 yo DD, to replace her crib. It was a really good deal for the bed, and we got a mattress for cheap as well. It will last her for a while at least. BIL feels that it was a bad decision.

DD did two print ads when she was a newborn and I was so stressed out about opening her an account and making sure I wasn’t spending her money. I kept telling DH I don’t want to be like Gary Coleman’s parents. DH was like calm down she’s done two print ads, we can’t retire on these two checks.
Most parents I’ve talked to that have kids working in print or tv/movies will usually do like a 70/80% - 30/20% split with their kids’ earnings.
But don’t get me wrong if DD had money from gifts and we needed it we would use it.
