Thinking of you chrisy01! Morning! No big plans here today; I am going to spread some mulch alongside the house around a bed of daylillies we planted. Normally DH is the yard-man but I kind of enjoy it and he’s slammed at work this week. B has his last tball game tonight. We were just informed yesterday of a closing day ‘mandatory fun’ party on Saturday from 11-3, THEN they’ll start doing awards. Yep, nope, thanks but no thanks. That also means the team party had to be moved to next weekend. We weren’t real jazzed about attending that, either, but my ILs will be in town so we have the perfect excuse to skip😬

Morning! Hoping my in-laws may offer to pick up the big kids today. They typically offer on Thursdays, but I usually keep them home. Today I will HAPPILY send them!

To me, ours feel a little overgrown and I have to figure out how to tend to them, but I'm vowing to keep my plan to let it all go for a year (minus weeding and deadheading) to see what's what. It's very frustrating.

We have a wedding this weekend (Josie is the flower girl), and the rehearsal is is tomorrow at noon followed by a late lunch. I have to run all over the place today getting last minute things and figuring out when to get mani/pedicure.

Going to the zoo this morning them my mom is watching the boys while I take my cousin and her baby to Children's. Since she was born addicted, she's enrolled in this program at Children's to make sure she stays on track with milestones. And it's the check up on parents and make sure they're not neglecting their kids. Or addicted to drugs again. If you refuse the service they report you to Children Services. But I think it's really valuable, my other cousin that this happened to her baby they didn't offer anything like this and he's the same age as Jack and has like four words. Speech delay is a huge problem with kids that were born addicted to drugs. And they give you incentive to come. The gave her free diapers and 4 cans of formula last time.

We are going to a Cardinals game with cousins at 12. It's supposed to be 94 today so that will be interesting. Then we are going to take SD on a college campus tour (and hopefully sands42 meetup). Going to be a busy few days but fun.

guster we used to have tons of daylillies in FL, but the deer love them and were just stripping them clean, so we had to replace them 😞 We’re in a bit more urban/less woodsy area now so I think I’ll have better luck with these! They’re so pretty and cheerful. ETA: you do tend to see them mounded in groups, but if they get too big you can also split them in half and replant elsewhere. This is what my dad always did. Sorry if I’m just repeating trtlcrzy!

flamingo guster daylilies are EVERYWHERE here. I had to divide some of mine last year because they were outgrowing their space. I have some more (I’m pretty sure they’re Stella d’ oro) that I’ll need to divide in the fall, they are blooming their heads off right now.

Congratulations chrisy01 !!! I can't see the pic, but I'm mobile. I'll check again once I get to work. Wouldn't common sense tell you, that in the world we live in, that you shouldn't take something like that to the airport? What a mess. I'm glad that's 'all' it was though.
