We have 2 smokers and 3 grills. It’s a bit ridiculous... Did you see my question yesterday about smoker recommendations? Got any? I'd like to get MH one for Father's day. Nevermind, I’m no help. You were asking T. Lol

FFTC? I've never been on a city bus. Me either. Public transit isn't really much of a thing in KC. We do have buses, but because I've always lived in a suburb, they don't go that far out of town, plus have never been close to my work locations. When I have traveled to NYC or Chicago, I always took taxis or subways.

I've never been on a city, either. Trains, subways, and taxis in the city. I've been on plenty of coach busses for school sports, field trips, and one really awful bus ride to Florida chaperoning for the marching band.

inthekitty we liked big loft areas when we were looking. Great for play area or extra TV/ game area. But we looked at one house that basically had a walkin closest for a 4th bedroom when it should have just been 3. We have a model home we bought as foreclosure. It has huge bathroom with jacuzzi garden tub and tiny shower. The tub now holds our litterbox because it is never used (fffc?). I want to remove that and make a big walkin shower with large tile (none of that 1x1 tile I have to scrub grout).

Bee update:
The exterminator came and said they were honey bees who came in the house b/c they were all at my neighbor's house and she sprayed them. So they got pissed and came here. When he got here they were still all swarming around outside and he estimated about 5,000 of them. Yes, 5,000. They then settled back on her roof and he said that they would continue to move along and the worst thing we could do is spray them b/c it would piss them off. He said there were a bunch still in the attic that would just die off.
Needless to say I woke up MOTN with a nightmare that there was a bee living in my ear and no one would try to remove it and I was afraid it would sting my inner ear.
Thanks for all your thoughts. For the past few weeks S has been asking when we are going to move to our new house. Maybe he is on to something!

BTW dapostrophe - I don't think I commented yesterday b/c I was super self absorbed with my situation, but holy crap those are some cute sibling pictures. The one of all of them with her really made me tear up with cuteness.

tgrimes, believe it or not, by the time I got home from parent teacher night (about 2 hours after this all happened), they were already mostly gone. He said by today they would all be gone! He really was a wealth of bee knowledge. I was hyperventilating and ready to lose my mind, but he was very reassuring that by today there would be no more issues. I am praying he was right!

Just curious what you're supposed to do about a bee problem if you're not supposed to spray for them.

Have them relocated I think. Bee keepers can move the whole hive. tgrimes , believe it or not, by the time I got home from parent teacher night (about 2 hours after this all happened), they were already mostly gone. I'm talking about awkwardly wasted space. This house had an odd shaped wide landing/hallway but you couldn't really use it for anything because essentially it's just an extra wide hallway (more to vacuum....yay). That took away from the space of the family room which was small but could have easily been 2 feet wider with still having plenty of space for the hallway.

On a related note, I don't want to finish my basement because I don't want to vacuum it. We will probably put a carpet down there with a TV and our old couch when it gets replaced. Right now E just rides his bike and scooter on the cement.

I loved the light rail in Portland. So easy. The year I left they were expanding it so it went south to another suburb. One day it was broken down and I was scared because we had to take buses and I didn't know what I was doing. Of course it was easy because they just picked us up at the train station and dropped us off at our train station. I've taken buses a few times--when I was in Anchorage a few weeks for work, once for travel in San Francisco, but mostly I'm afraid I wouldn't know how to figure out the routes and schedules.

I was always thrilled when my mom would pull her car out of the garage into the driveway so we could ride bikes in the garage on rainy days.

Believe me, I don't think anyone can freak me out more than I already am (except perhaps inthekitty's picture). Anyway, he said if they really want to live in a hollowed out tree, and if they did set up permanent camp in our house/tree, that they would have to be relocated by a beekeeper. But he was confident they were just travelling through. H seems to be right as (knock on wood) they are gone and the only ones left are the few stragglers. I believe that now we can spray the remainder.

If they were honey bees then they were probably part of a colony and maybe lost their queen so they are in search of a new home. Like peachsmama said, a honey beekeeper can probably relocate them. jewels

Good news jewels, but I'd have a bee keeper on speed dial just in case.
