Good morning! Not much planned today. We have been busy non stop for days and I am over it. Lol The baby found his feet. He loves them. It’s the cutest. He has also started scooting around on his belly. He is pretty close to being semi Mobil. Whoa! When I laid him down he was on his back with his head in the opposite direction.

I was too confident that we were past the sleep regression... Up at 2:00 (after a dream feed at midnight), 5 and 6. She was super tired after day care too, she napped for about 45 minutes around 6 and we had her in bed asleep just after 8:00.
How long until she starts napping better at daycare? They follow the parent's schedule so some babies are awake when she is napping, so there is noise... We usually have her nap downstairs in the PnP where the tv is on, phone rings, we are talking, etc. so she isn't used to complete silence or dark when sleeping during the day.

The weather is crappy today so I think they’re going to cancel DS1’s field trip which I’m bummed about. But he was in a great mood this morning and super into holding his brother.
I’m still trying to catch up on sleep. Baby was up only once last night but we figured out he has 4 bottom teeth all trying to come in right now.

Good morning everyone!
I know I have asked about this before but now that DS is almost 4 months I worry that I might be messing up something for later. He goes to bed quite a bit later than most babies I see here, but he is sleeping very well, takes good naps throughout the day, and seems like a very happy and content baby. Our nighttime schedule is this:
I go upstairs around 9. He takes a bottle from DH and falls asleep on him or in his RNP by about 9:30. DH brings him up to our room by 11:30 and I do a dream feed and put him in his Snoo. He typically sleeps all night, and I wake him up at 6 to feed him before I go to work. I put him back in the Snoo, and then he sleeps in there until 9ish.
We don't plan on putting him in daycare for at least several months, so right now there is no reason that he has to ever wake up earlier. But are there any reasons that he should be on more of a 7pm to 7 am type of schedule? We don't get home from work until 6, so I really like getting to have a few hours with him when I get home. Is there anything I should be changing right now or is it OK to just KOKO until we start to have an issue?

pinkcat if it isn’t broke don’t fix it. Will you eventually need him to wake earlier? Yes. But I feel like you can work on adjusting his schedule then.

I’m so behind but I have a question... When you stand your LO up, do they automatically try to bare weight on their legs? I remember DD3 absolutely loving to stand from 2 months on. DD4 just... doesn’t. She just lets her legs go limp. She moves both legs equally, but I’m still not sure if I should worry about it or not. She’s 4.5 Months. When she does put weight on her legs, it’s usually only the left. She pulls the right one up like a flamingo.
She has rolled back to belly twice, but otherwise no rolling. Not attempted siting. She supports her head and neck just fine, but she’s clearly lacking some core strength. I don’t know...

If you are worried you can always bring it up to the pedi at your next visit. He is a little over 5 mo and he just started rolling both front to back and back to front. I wouldn’t worry about that just yet. He will sit unsupported for a few seconds. We worked on his head control and core strength because of the flat spot on his head. His dr didn’t want him on his back except for diaper changes, dressing and sleep. Even sleep he wanted me to prop him to one side as often as possible. To work on core strength they wanted him in his sit me up or doing tummy time at all non feeding or sleeping times. It’s rough because I feel like he doesn’t get as much contact with me because of it but he is getting used to it.

pinkcat I agree with ajetter. If that schedule works for you, then it’s fine! You’ll shift things whenever they need to be shifted.

pinkcat I definitely wouldn’t mess with that, lol, none of my kids slept that good at this age. Speaking of, N’s had a couple of her longest nights in a row though, and spending more time in her crib, so I’ve had some of my best sleeps since she was born the last couple nights! She’s also very recently started to be able to scoot around on her back, the kids and I watched her push her way under the high chair yesterday and she was just smiling and the kids were laughing so much haha. It was DD1s real birthday yesterday. So I officially have a 3 year old again! This is DS’s first week off preschool so kind of enjoying the days slowing down a little bit (he has ball twice a week for a couple more weeks). H starts summer break on the last day of June so we’ll be back on the go a lot then! ajetter might be worth asking your pedi over, if anything for the peace of mind! ETA but FWIW N is getting pretty strong in the other aspects you mentioned but she hasn’t rolled back to belly. I don’t even see her try, haha, she’ll roll on her side to play with toys sometimes.

whelp daycare just called and he has a fever of 100.3 and 100 is their cut off. So I am meeting DH at the ped in an hour. pinkcat, DD2 falls asleep after her evening bottle around 7 or 8 but is up again around 11 so I count that as her real bedtime. I agree with everyone that if it's working now I'd leave it as is unless there is reason to get up earlier. aprilz81, I bet she will get into a good nap routine at daycare this week or next. I think it took us about 2 weeks to get into the routine. She now takes two good naps - one morning and one afternoon.

pinkcat, I wouldn't mess with the schedule yet, if anything maybe work on more sleeping in the crib, but if it works and you are MONTHS away from daycare routines then I would let it be. The schedule might organically move over the summer. ajetter, Faith is 4 months and LOVES to stand and has since around 6 weeks or so. She will bear her full weight easily and we can just hold her hands or barely support her under her arms. I wouldn't panic but mention it on your next pedi visit. Do you have any baby containment devices that might help her work on core strength? Faith has only rolled belly to back once and never back to belly.

ajetter DS2 loves to push up and stand but up until about two weeks ago was really bobbly still in the head. I asked our pediatrician and just told us to kind of keep track if it was improving or not or if we noticed any quirks and we’d deiscuss it at our 4 month appt.

H typically falls asleep around 9pm and then is up for the day between 6-7am. at least half the time he gets up for a bottle around 4am. He's happy 98% of the time so I'm just rolling with it. I'm pretty sure he sleeps less than other babies in general (often only has 30 min naps), but since he's always happy, I'm not going to worry. some babies have to be on the low end of normal.

And its hand foot mouth. Ugh. And mostly in her mouth and throat which explains her fussiness.

aprilz81 we have a sit me up, but she doesn’t love it. And honestly when we try to put her in a seated position she spits up so much, so we don’t do it as often as we should. She spits up a ton during tummy time too. I feel like I spend half the day trying to keep her from spitting up. I thought about bringing out the jumperoo. Even though she doesn’t try to stand a lot, I think she has enough control of her upper body to handle being in there. We have another weight check at the breastfeeding clinic tomorrow, maybe I’ll just mention something to the nurses. 🤷🏼♀️

ajetter DD1 never beared (bore? Lol whatever) weight on her legs, she would always just curl up. DD2 was standing with assistance by 4 months. Both girls pulled themselves up on furniture around 9-10 months and walked at the normal age of right around a year! I don't think it is anything to be concerned about :-) J isn't big into supporting her own weight either but she loves to kick.

Thanks so much ajetter bassa tiffrobot and sarahh ! That makes me feel so much better. I kept feeling like why mess with it if it's working for us, but then would doubt myself and worry I was screwing things up for later! Ugh sorry about the HFM sarahh ! What a bummer.

marygracerich, Can i ask you about your son's flat spot? Is it the back of his head? And how severe is it? H has a pretty prevalent flat spot from where he lays down but his doctor has never mentioned anything about it. I'm not sure if I need to be concerned or not.

H has a pretty prevalent flat spot from where he lays down but his doctor has never mentioned anything about it. I'm not sure if I need to be concerned or not. I noticed the spot pretty early on because he favors his right side. I brought it up to the pedi, he didn’t really notice it. He said wait until 4mo to decide about seeing someone about the spot. Well 4 months came and it was still pretty obvious to me. It’s sort of on the right back of his head so not the middle of the back. We went to the dr to find out about it he did some measurements. He said it was considered in the low range of moderately flat. He also brought to my attention that his ears weren’t even. He says one of his cheeks is fuller too but I can’t see it. This was his heads way of compensating for the flat spot. He gave me instructions on how to help the spot not get any worse and to start correcting it. He says his size is working against him but he said he is the prefect age for the helmet to be successful. He gets his helmet on the 19th.

marygracerich thanks for the info! I checked out some photos online and his looks similar to photos considered ‘moderate’. I’m going to bring it up with the doctor at his 5 month appointment later in June.
