So... My dd1 has a pretty flat spot on the back of her head. I'm assuming my ped never caught it? Is that a bad thing?? They say it’s mostly cosmetic. We all have some asymmetry in our bodies and your head is no different. There are some studies that say it can affect fine motor skills later in life. The reason ours is considered more than just cosmetic is because of the asymmetric ears. He wouldn’t be able to wear glasses if he needs them. It could also cause comprehension issues because he will hear at different rates on each side.

Guess N heard me “talking” about her earlier, lol. She’s spent all day practicing rolling from back to tummy now 😂

Just got back from having DH's car looked at (I can't remember if I mentioned we were hearing some metal on metal "scraping" sounds, obviously not good). We lucked out that the noise was two broken muffler clamps and $58 to repair. The bad news is while it was up on the lift they noticed all of our tires are pretty much threadbare (only 35,000 miles on the vehicle). So we had them fix the clamps there and will be pricing out new tires. Boo. At least DH is back to work!

I’m so behind but I have a question... When you stand your LO up, do they automatically try to bare weight on their legs? I remember DD3 absolutely loving to stand from 2 months on. DD4 just... doesn’t. She just lets her legs go limp. She moves both legs equally, but I’m still not sure if I should worry about it or not. She’s 4.5 Months. When she does put weight on her legs, it’s usually only the left. She pulls the right one up like a flamingo. She has rolled back to belly twice, but otherwise no rolling. Not attempted siting. She supports her head and neck just fine, but she’s clearly lacking some core strength. I don’t know... Im late but DD was more like this. DS is a tank and loves to “stand” and rolls all over the place but DD was petite & wasn’t really into that until later. I remember her pedi said she had some low muscle tone in her upper body which contributed. Not severe enough for any PT and she was moving & grooving within a month or two. Still “late” in all her gross motor milestones though, she didn’t crawl until 11mo.

cake & sunfrogger just to offer more input on the flat head thing...DS had a pretty flat spot too and I was really anxious about it between 2-4mo. At his 4mo appointment his doctor said it was definitely noticeable but for us, since his face was still symmetrical, he thought it would round out & no helmet for us. The kid has spent 90% of his time on his tummy since then & I can already tell a huge difference (he’s 5mo next week). So if you’re concerned I’d definitely talk to your doctor but also just push the tummy time like nonstop haha. It’s miserable at first but it also has benefits like now he’s rolling and very strong from all that tummy time.

I feel like I only have time to LT & read posts these days lol. We had a fun day today! DD played in the pool & I got my house straightened up. I started a new workout program yesterday & I’m already down two lbs!! My sister is staying with us for the summer and we’re already having so much fun. Tomorrow I start my weekly tutoring sessions with an 8th grader who was in my class last year & her 10th grade brother. I’m pumped to make extra cash doing something that feels easy peasy. This weekend my sister is keeping the kids so I can go out for my girlfriend’s birthday! Perks to having a live-in babysitter kid update: DD is a maniac and sooooo dramatic lately. Can’t havdle it & I’m getting the occasional eye roll from her so curious where she learned that lol. DS will be 5mo next week & is already scooting around a little on his tummy I can’t take it!!! Can’t believe how fast they’re growing.

He can roll (he's done it a few times) but doesn't unless we really force him and isn't terribly interested in standing but can. I'm not worried. Maybe I should be but I'm not. Lol.

DS2 had no interest in rolling either way. Been only close once that I saw. During tummy time he tries to getup ob his knees so I'm not too worried yet.
In other news, we are putting DS1 in underwear at daycare tomorrow. Eek!

I was too confident that we were past the sleep regression... Up at 2:00 (after a dream feed at midnight), 5 and 6. She was super tired after day care too, she napped for about 45 minutes around 6 and we had her in bed asleep just after 8:00. How long until she starts napping better at daycare? They follow the parent's schedule so some babies are awake when she is napping, so there is noise... We usually have her nap downstairs in the PnP where the tv is on, phone rings, we are talking, etc. so she isn't used to complete silence or dark when sleeping during the day.I STUCK IN A BOX Sorry you are having such a difficulty with naps at daycare. I think it just will take time. We are in the opposite situation. J naps pretty well at daycare and HORRIBLE at home.
