orangehibiscus I have an appointment with my RE this Thursday so I haven’t bothered to call. I figured I’m basically just waiting for AF at this point anyway. I should have called for the progesterone but I didn’t. Just feeling blah all around.

meggo Hi!! ((waves)) BunnyBerry here from TCF! Yay for your LO. I'm sorry you guys are facing these challenges again. That's so frustrating. It can take up to two weeks to kickstart AF after provera, though, right? I hope it's right around the corner! obscureference Wow, those OPKs sound really confusing. Maybe a crazy thought, so I'm sorry if it's stupid, but it's what I would be thinking if it were me, I think...hCG can cause a line on OPKs as well, has it been long enough this cycle, is there any possibility you did O and could be pregnant?? orangehibiscus I'm glad you can cycle once more before IVF, that was so smart to check on and scrap this cycle to have a better chance next time!

I O'd Thursday or Friday (according to OPK, CM, and temps). I'll be out of town at a conference 11-13DPO so I could either not pack tests and just wait until 14DPO like a sane person, or have a chance to test without DH around and be able to potentially surprise him...
In unrelated news, we spent the weekend cleaning up the yard and ordered patio furniture...so excited to take advantage of the short but beautiful summer and try to enjoy life together every day regardless of what's happening on the TTC front.

I’m glad too sunshiney! I’m glad you O’d. Do you typically test with your H there? If so, then I might wait. I’m an early tester though, so I doubt I could wait until 14DPO.

sunshiney Yes they are very confusing. I don’t think they are picking up hcg. I would expect them to be a consistent darkness if that were the case and these are not. I’m also pretty sure I’m only 6 dpo so not really long enough. Yay for new patio furniture! It’s so great to spend time outside!

Yet another darker than normal opk for me today. I feel like this one was even darker than yesterday so now I’m back to not being sure about O. I am using up all of my OPKs, too.

sunshiney Hi!! I didn't know it could take up to 2 weeks... it's always been so quick for me! I didn't get a chance to call my RE today because work about killed me, but I still plan to call and see what they say. I would pack tests and have the chance for a surprise, it's more fun that way! 😊 GL!! And yay for enjoying the backyard! We just did the same thing, but summers here are long and hot.

meggo we have long hot summers, too. If I’m outside, I’m in the pool, not lounging on patio furniture! Nice cool summers lounging on patio furniture sound lovely though.

My RE requires us to use the clear blue digitals to try and take the guess work out. Have you tried them? Sorry for the mind games!

Bluebird I have never tried them. Are those the ones that give smiley faces? I bet they’re expensive!

Bluebird I have never tried them. Are those the ones that give smiley faces? I bet they’re expensive! Yes, the smiley face one but not the advanced version. They are kind of expensive, but I don’t miss the daily analysis! I’ve found them to be very accurate too.

This cycle just keeps getting better. Last night I woke up to use the bathroom and I started to get some pretty horrible abdominal pain that freaked me out, but then I realized it just felt like a worse version of my normal ovulation pain. So now I have no idea what is going on. I’m also a bit concerned about the pain. It seems like every month it gets worse.
I seriously feel like my cycle has just gotten less predictable since starting with the RE. I’m feeling very done. I have never had problems figuring out my OPKs. I have never ovulated so late. Ugh.
I also thought maybe the pain was a cyst? But I don’t know what a rupturing cyst feels like.

I also thought maybe the pain was a cyst? But I don’t know what a rupturing cyst feels like. This is definitely a wacky cycle. Sorry for the pain, and that it is getting worse. I would definitely bring that up to the RE. I would also talk about your cycles being less predictable. What CD did you O if this is really is it? The pain might be a large follicle ovulating?? What I ovulated my giant follicle, I had quite a bit of pain. How long did your pain last? I’m not an RE, but adding an injection (like Follistim) may help. It makes you grow follicles, and you don’t need OPKs. My RE asked me to stop using OPKs. That being said you do what you need to and what you’re feeling (being done). All the hugs! This sucks so much!

orangehibiscus Thanks. This really is frustrating. I am cd 30 today. If today is ovulation, this will be my second 40+ day cycle ever. Both of them while on femara. Doesn’t seem like a coincidence. I am definitely going to talk to my RE about both of those things.

obscureference That does sound kind of cyst-y. Cysts can produce estrogen and mess with your body, preventing another mature follicle from forming and ovulating. I've had several ruptured cysts, a few times I've been able to go into the office right when I feel it so they can do an u/s and confirm (they see the fluid), that really helps take the guess work out. That said, this cycle's O was so painful I told DH, "I have this crazy pain this evening that won't go away, it's like a knife up my butt" and he was like, "Isn't that the feeling you get from bursting cysts?" and I was like, "duh! of course, I'm ovulating." Did you get b/w to confirm O? As far as OPKs, many cycles in the past I never quite had a positive, but I learned that a dark almost-positive might be a positive for me, so that was important to know and wouldn't have been picked up on a digital. I also use the darkening sticks to help me predict O (I've been as early as CD13 and as late as CD24). I agree with orangehibiscus that injections are fantastic. If this cycle is a BFN, we are going to prevent for 2-3 cycles (condoms) so I can lose some weight and get in better shape, then do injectibles. They do require a lot of monitoring, but grow nice juicy follicles, and for me at least were my only way to get more than 1 follie.

sunshiney Your post really makes me feel better. I felt like a crazy person last night and I’m pretty sure I freaked MH out because I was in some serious pain. At least the pain only lasted for 30 minutes or so. I also can usually tell an upcoming O by the lines as well. Maybe I will do both kinds for a cycle and see what happens. For me, almost positive means I didn’t O. I always get a true positive on wondfos so the digis would probably be fine for me. Idk. I have never had cycles like this where I have a surge but don’t O. Like literally never not once and I’ve been tracking for a long time. I have not done blood work to confirm O and I didn’t bother getting the results from a week ago because I got another positive opk and just was like ok, now I’m ovulating. I will see my RE on Thursday to discuss. Now that you mention the estrogen thing, I remember my nurse saying something along those lines 3 cycles ago when this happened before. I bet I had a cyst but it was small so they let me go ahead with the femara. Interesting. I also remember O being pretty painful that time as well.

Are you being monitored? The first time I took Femera, I O'd late (CD21) and it was super painful (even without the trigger shot) but we had already cancelled the cycle because it appeared I wasn't responding. I agree with maybe adding in an injection (and hopefully being closely monitored). When will you get to talk to your RE? orangehibiscus Thanks. This really is frustrating. I am cd 30 today. Still no sign of AF and my RE's nurse never returned my call today 😡 Our clinic has undergone some major changes since we were there last in 2015 and it's very irritating. I think they also had a lot of growth. I've had trouble with them not responding and have gotten conflicting information from cycle to cycle. And my RE is retiring in a couple weeks, so I'll have to transition to a brand new one. I wish I could switch clinics, but this is the only one my insurance covers. I'll leave another message tomorrow morning and probably send a message through the patient portal as well.

meggo ugh that is the worst when they won’t get back to you. They have to know that we are all waiting (im)patiently for call backs. I was monitored mid cycle but my follies weren’t big enough to trigger and showed no growth at the second sono. I just kept doing OPKs to try and catch o anyway. I see my RE on Thursday.

TW OPP, Loss
Y’all...I knew this would happen at some point, and here it is. My coworker had twins, and she was due 4 days before my ectopic EDD. I don’t know how I’m going to make through the day at work. Of course my coworkers are talking about it. I’m so happy for her, but I’m so sad for me. H doesn’t get it, and I feel very alone in my grief. He doesn’t understand that a positive pregnancy test = baby at the end. That’s what supposed to happen, and it didn’t happen for me/is. He doesn’t get why I’m still upset.
And I just started crying at work. I have to make it through today.
