I got salt and pepper grinders for our wedding, but I hate how they release chunky pieces of salt and pepper, so I threw them away. I just use the containers of salt and pepper, but I'd love a goofy set for the dinner table. But the chunky pieces are the best parts...

We have grinders for both in the kitchen. We usually use other seasonings to flavor our foods to the point they aren’t needed. Salt and pepper are always needed. Before I found out there wasn't any in our hotel room's kitchen, fil made chili for dinner. I thought to myself, this could use more salt and pepper. The next morning was the big reveal and I felt like a food detective.

No, we season all our food when cooking. If you need more, then it comes from the bottle. This. We have a grinder for pepper (two actually -- black peppercorns and szechuan peppercorns) and salt from the container. I do own dinosaur shakers, but they are empty as the toddler likes to play with them. There are squirrel shakers in our camper that do actually hold salt and pepper.

We just have a big grinder of each (costco) that we use liberally when cooking. If you need more, it's not coming out of a special container, its coming out of those.

I’m Kevin belly laughing as always. Don’t mind me.
When stuff like this comes up I always imagine people measuring out their salt in teaspoons when cooking. Lol.

Do you use salt and pepper shakers in your home? I have a salt cellar and a pepper grinder. Idk where that lands me.

I have several sets of them, all shaped like mushrooms.
I did a lot of stoned eBay bidding in my 20s.

We have grinders for both, they live by the stove for cooking. Nothing on the table.

We have grinders for both that live by the stove. We do get them out for the table if we have guests over otherwise we just use them as needed.

Isn't this what one is supposed to do when the recipe calls for 1/2 tsp of salt? Those are basically suggestions. Taste your food as you’re cooking and adjust. There’s also very little chance that I will use the amount of salt or garlic that a recipe calls for. Because it’s never enough.

We have grinders and small shakers for additional seasoning after we're done cooking.

Fuck, that was too much.

Well right, but when I'm making dry rubs for meat or whatnot I can't really taste that as I go. Teaspoons are my preferred method of making sure I don't accidentally dump half the container in.

Because that’s more like a science.

We have new ones that are pretty standard but have jellyfish on them. I recently bought them because the nice ones from our dishware DH bitched about all the time because they were top heavy. He has string opinions on random shit.

We have gravity grinders. I love them and use them all the time. I use pink Himalayan salt and I can’t go back. I swear it tastes so much better.

I'm a SS, I guess. I have salt and pepper grinders that float around the kitchen and are occasionally brought to the table if the food is somehow under seasoned, a cellar of kosher salt by the stove for cooking, and containers of fleur de sel and Hawaiian salt in the cupboard.

My parents use them when they come. We do our veggies unsalted, so we add some for us. DD doesn’t care. None of my other guests use them. Old southern people use a lot of salt. My grandma will salt watermelon.
