I'm catching up! We got back from up north a couple hours ago. I really want a drink, but I'm forcing myself to go to my workout class at 4:15...

Also, I'm super pissed that Bachelor in Paradise likely isn't happening. I love that show!

It's been pouring all day and I'm watching the water level of the pond behind our house rise up over the grass in the neighbor's yard opposite ours.
I texted my parents a pic and asked if I should be concerned. Mom immediately goes to worst case scenario and is worried about water reaching the house.
Dad: Not worried about the house. But keep the kids and dog away...there could be snakes.
Ummm, I'll take the house flood, please.

peachsmama I'm sorry M is giving you a hard time with PT. I really have no real advice to ad. The one thing we did was put ds ifo the tv on his potty, with a diaper in the beginning. Then when he was comfortable with the potty we took the diaper of. Like others said about their kids, Ds is also strong willed and has no interest in bribes most of the time. Oh, I think Dh and I are the odd ones who did combine pt at home and diapers outside of our home. Each kid is different! Fingers crossed he gets is soon! Because of a miscommunication in preschool, Josie wore pull ups for her classes there until late April/early May. She had been potty trained since February. It didn't cause confusion, but again every kid is different. We also had no luck until the last week in January. She wasn't interested, wouldn't try. Bribes were not helpful nor were rewards chart (she's just not that kid). We read one of those little critters books while we were waiting in the doctors office for Charlie's appt. one Thursday in January. For some reason, it's stuck with her, and she was good to go from that point forward. It had nothing to do with me or props or a schedule or anything. I tried, but she wasn't having it. She's a kid who was going to do it on her own timeline just like everything else. M will get there.

tgrimes, super cute! peachsmama - I totally understand how you are feeling. It really felt like an insurmountable task. You will figure out what works for M and he will get potty trained. Serious question, what happens if he is not PT when he starts preschool? Do they really not let him go there? Like, they'll kick him out? That seems strange to me.Like, is there a certain number of accidents they can't exceed? Sorry if that sounds stupid, but I'm in a preschool/day care setting, and the only rule they have is no field trips till they are potty trained.

Is it bad that I'm so happy h is finally showing an interest in TV? Maybe because he hasn't been feeling well but for the last few days he'll actually sit and snuggle watching tv for a few minutes. So much better than wanting to be held, but wanting down, held, down etc etc.

I'll get the 1st month tuition back, or I can choose for them to hold it until next fall. But I won't get my deposit back. I'm not sure how many accidents are okay. They are strictly a preschool. No daycare.

I think you got a lot of advice here (some of it conflicting with others) but you know M best, so I have confidence you'll get him there.

Also after DH and I talking yesterday about reining in our spending and living on less, I spent $100 on amazon for potty training stuff and a new swimsuit for me. I can not think about digging through my storage unit to find the tote labeled "summer" Also means I'll be buying all new flip flops and shorts. *insert parenting shruggie guy*

Should have done PT this weekend since we were at home. He knows once his diapers are out, it's time for underwear. He loves sitting and reading adult magazines after bath time, but seems only agreeable at night. He likes outside and National geographic. Pretty sure he's just being stubborn/us being lazy.
EtA: lol at "adult" magazines. I clearly meant our magazines...which are not "adult".

In the preschool my kids attemd, staff cannot change them if they have an accident, parents must come do it. It's a license thing. There is a difference between a daycare license and a preschool one.

peachsmama, def. look into how many accidents he is "allowed". Cadence has been pt'd for awhile now, but accidents still happen. Want to make sure its a number that isn't going to stress the child out.

I'm sitting at my desk stuffing my face with ketchup chips, courtesy of vino . They're delicious even though I thought they sounded disgusting. I need to catch up on my emails and voicemails. I <3 ketchup chips. How do I get vino to send me some???

I have a lovely tale of the consequences of my super positive/no discipline parenting style. V dumped his full bowl of popcorn on the carpet. DH: Hey buddy, you need to clean that up. (V picks up exactly one piece of popcorn) V: PERFECT! FANTASTIC! I AM AWESOME! DH: Wow. That was a lot of praise for one piece of popcorn. I died laughing. Mostly at myself. I lost the plot on this yesterday, but it was working pretty good up til then. But this is hilarious!

Old Nay's entire store is on sale right now. Up to 50% off. So you're saying I should get us all knee deep in potty training on Saturday then bolt and leave DH to fend by himself? I can get behind this advice.
