Is anyone doing kick counts? I have never been told to do them by my OB but it seems like that might be abnormal? I don't think I will unless I'm told to. At this point he's so active.

I'm at the hospital waiting for my ultrasound. They're behind, like usual. Hopefully not too much longer since I have a full bladder.
Idk if I gave myself a sugar overload by drinking juice but I suddenly got dizzy while sitting here. I feel like I'm tipping sideways (but am not).

I'm going to have to call the doctor about my heartburn. I am having trouble focusing on my work at this point because I'm so uncomfortable. How did I not have this for even 1 minute with my first two kids? I had horrible heartburn with my first, v v rarely had it with my second, and back to horrible with this one. I hope you get relief!

I got a couple more frames from home goods for the nursery today and my rug should be here tomorrow. I think I will be done after that🙌🙌🙌 I'm scared of going from 1-2, mostly how I'm going to handle 2 kids since most days DH works late so I'm a one woman show. I hope DS doesn't get jealous or sad. We're together everyday and I now it will be a huge adjustment for him. This is my exact feels. I am a one woman show too and am nervous about managing both kiddos and keeping the toddler entertained and feeling moved. It’s just the two of us now and I love our bond. Add me to the one woman show. DD is at school during the days too, so DS is used to it being just us two.

Work just asked me if I can go back to Seattle June 18th... I will be 38 weeks. That feels like pushing it. My boss can go on my behalf but I'm bummed to miss the trip.

Just dropped almost $500 on stuff for the baby and still have a lot to get (mostly small stuff like nipples, pacifiers, etc.) Even though we are totally fine, I hate dropping that much money on anything. Also Target is doing a $20 gift card when you spend $100 on baby essentials. I may get the small stuff there. I wonder if this deal will still work with the 15% off baby registry discount. I was thinking buy my monitor there with the discount.

Ugh, fell walking out the door at work this afternoon. I thankfully landed on my knee and not my belly, but left a message for my doctor just to be safe. Baby boy is moving all around so I know he is fine, but it definitely scared me. Sorry, hope your knee isn't too sore!

So apparently my OB treats her GD patients really conservatively and I'm going to get twice weekly appts from here on out. Gah. A NST every Tues and an u/s every Fri. I mean, it's going to be nice to see the baby every week but lord help me, I'm going to have to bring DD to every appointment and somehow keep her occupied while I lay there for the NSTs. This is the same protocol my doctor uses. For me, it was the biggest drawback to GD. My NSTs were also at the hospital so they took longer because I had to wait for a nurse to be available to start the test and then sometimes they'd be delayed at the end. I went in on Thanksgiving morning just to avoid missing work that week.

My doctor told me at my appointment last week that I should feel movement no less frequently than every 4 hours. She told me this as my kid kicked the ultrasound thingy, and then laughed and said "but you're probably feeling a lot more than that". She's VERY conservative usually, so I feel comfortable that that's something I can pay attention to and keep track of, if I feel like it's been longer than 4 hours.

The lack of sleep is affecting my mental health. DH ends up getting the brunt of my irritability and I feel kind of bad/guilty. He did drop a bomb on me last night saying he thinks we're not on the same page parenting wise, but the only examples he could give me were pretty small/insignificant to me...like giving DS1 a cracker when he had said no. I get his point, but I think he needs to learn to pick his battles. Is it really worth DS1 tantruming/whining/crying over a cracker? Not to me.
I went to make coffee at work this morning and forgot the coffee. I had to turn the machine off and start again.

Is anyone doing kick counts? I have never been told to do them by my OB but it seems like that might be abnormal? I don't count kicks but I know her pattern of movement and that's what I keep an eye on. +1
my OB has never mentioned kick counts specifically, but they always ask if i'm feeling lots of regular movement. i just make sure baby is following his/her usual daily pattern of activity.

I just feel more anxious after my ultrasound. She can't tell me anything so I'll have to wait to hear from my doctor next week.
She spent a long time watching the heartbeat and then kept measuring a spot on the brain. So now I'm worried something is wrong.
I saw the face and baby has chubby cheeks and looked like DS, but the nose was smooshed looking. She did say baby had its face against my uterus and "looked mad".

I'm sorry notmoose, that's stressful. Your doctor won't be able to call you before next week? Can you call them and ask for the results?

Is there anyway that you can call them before that?

I'm trying to decide if I want to buy a second glider. I still use DS1's daily, but only for a couple of minutes at a time. I think he would fine without it.

I'm trying not to worry about it. My mom said "you don't know if there's a reason to worry and even if there is there's nothing worrying will help." So, I'm just repeating that to myself and remembering how cute the baby was.

My growth ultrasound is complete. They are estimating her at 5lbs. Her cheeks have doubled in size.
I’m currently waiting to get my blood pressure redone. Then back to work.

catspajamas2, my OB said I should start doing daily kick counts, but I don't, unless I notice her pattern is off. She moves enough that I don't feel the need. A few times, she's gone pretty still, and I've done them then. Also, I wouldn't go anywhere farther than 1 hr from home at 38 weeks, especially on a flight. Most airlines won't even let you fly that far along without a doctor's note. I mentioned I was going to CA this weekend, and my dr thought I was flying and didn't want me going (but driving, we're good). notmoose, I hope the rest of the week passes quickly for you. FWIW, the tech spent forever staring at baby's heart and it was freaking me out a bit, but it was nothing. She just couldn't get a good enough angle to see everything because of her position. According to my last u/s, baby is in the 65th percentile but her belly is in the 91st lol. I need to ask what her head is measuring. But yay for average sized baby!

I mean, it's going to be nice to see the baby every week but lord help me, I'm going to have to bring DD to every appointment and somehow keep her occupied while I lay there for the NSTs. Solidarity! I am also on weekly appointments from here on out (nst, followed by u/s, followed by dr appt). Yesterday was my first and the nst lady was running late, she then I got bumped on the other two schedules and was there over 2hrs...at lunchtime. Not looking forward to these. The u/s is only to check fluid levels (mine was 18 and she said they consider 8-24 as normal, lol), except every 4 weeks when they will check baby size also. Funny thing is this is the first time I’ve had to come in so often. They said it’s because I am over 40. I had gd and g-hypertension with the other pregnancies and only had a couple of nsts and extra u/s’s for each. Also, notmoose, my fundal height measured 33w when I was 30w (2w ago) and only measured 31w yesterday! I saw the senior OB in the office and he said her positioning can have that big of an effect on how the uterus measures. Wow, what a swing on a baby that is measuring 96-99%. Hope you hear good news soon from your u/s.

goldenbird ya I would risk that trip either. notmoose sorry you have to wait so long for results. I’d be stressing too! I have overdone it this AM I think. Soooo sore now! I decided I’m going to try to walk every AM with DD and we walked 40 mins today then went to the park. Then I had some cleaning to do for a party tomorrow. The combo has me dying now. We still have an outdoor picnic to go to tonight too. 🤦🏻♀️

notmoose, sorry to hear your ultrasound was so concerning. I've found that the more active the baby is, the more difficult it is for the techs to get good measurements the first time. Also, as previously mentioned, the baby's position impacts the ease of measurements. My tech spend a lot of time looking at my baby's heart last time, even though it had previously checked out ok. Still not sure what she was looking at. I can't imagine having to wait for results. I always have an OB appointment following my ultrasounds so the results are immediate. I'd hope the doc would call you if there was anything concerning though.
