I just signed DD up for dance lessons. She will tell anyone who asks (or anyone who doesn’t, basically everyone, lol!) that she is going to be a doctor and ballerina when she grows up. I feel bad that I haven’t found the time to get her in a class yet, she’ll be 5.5 end of June and I took my first dance class at age 4. The timing isn’t great, but it’s not going to get better after she starts kindergarten and we have a newborn, so I bit the bullet.
Summer session is only six 90 minute classes — 3w in June, off for the 4th, then 3w in July. At least it should give us a feel for if she REALLY likes it, or if it is just the idea of dance that she likes.

It’s grass season, I’m allergic and I live in the grass seed caption of the world.
Anyone want to take bets on how many times a day I have to change my panties from sneezing? Even with pads on, the pee finds ways to the cotton. I am misrerable today and the forecast says it’s only going to get worse. Time for me to pull out the depends.

kaeguri, three is my absolute favorite age. My girls have been funny, sweet, and so enjoyable at 3. Hope you have the same experience. This gives me hope. DD will be 34 months when LO comes, and all the stories very kind friends have been telling me are how that age little girls like to play mommy, so having a real baby is tons of fun for them. I am crossing everything that this is true for mine, because we are home all day together with no daycare in our futures.

kam3100, H is worried about an inflatable pool, that our dead and super sharp grass might puncture it lol. I'm trying to find a plastic pool with a slide for her, but our local Walmart doesn't have it. pickles that's what a few of my friends said too, but DD is the least mothering type of child ever. She doesn't play with dolls or anything feminine really. Monster trucks and literally climbing the walls and furniture are her favorite things. We went to see a friend and their newborn tonight, and DD had less than no interest in the baby at all. But at least she left him alone, and just tried to climb the banister instead. But snuggling that little baby, omg. I forgot about all the little squeaks and coos newborns make and I die. So. Cute. And so small haha.

I was so excited to be in bed by 9:15 last night. Then couldn't sleep because of reflux. I think we ate dinner too late last night. 😕

I am so confused about what day of the week it is today, but for once it is in a good way and we are closer to the weekend than it seems :-)

It was. Honestly I got used to the heat after an hour, but with the windows down we couldn't hear the radio and had to yell to hear each other talk. So the ride was super loud and not fun. We were all gross by the time we got home, but we survived!

I have actually been sleeping better the last week or so, so that seemed to be the cue for my almost 3 year old to start waking up at disgustingly early times. I’m exhausted and not sure how I’ll function with 3 kids. Tell me I’ll adapt. Most of my mom friends with 3+ said going from 2 to 3 was much easier than 1 to 2. You got this! Me on the other hand, LOL. Apparently 3 year olds are the worst, and going from 1 to 2, and we're about to do both, so yay? Anecdotal but 0 to 1 was harder than 1 to 2 for me. And age 3 wasn't bad for us. My biggest worry about going from 2 to 3 is giving DS enough attention. I worry I will make him sad/upset/jealous since the baby will require so much attention.

catspajamas2 does being upright help at all for the reflux/do you have a recliner you could sleep in sometimes? That's the only thing I can think of. I think my last few weeks I'll have MH pull ours into my bedroom. One story house. Or whenever it starts waking me up. . I try not to lay down for a couple hours after I eat but I am getting heartburn like in the middle of the day while grocery shopping so it doesn’t seem position induced for me. I hope the recliner helps you! This is my life. Nothing I do helps/seems to cause the heartburn/reflux. It's just always there. Any and all food/drink cause heartburn, laying down or sitting or standing. Doesn't matter.

It's been so busy that I've had trouble keeping up. The good news is that we made some progress on starting all of our projects that we need to complete before baby arrives! Our house looks like there was an explosion, but at least we have progress.
Also, I received word late last week that I've received a promotion! It's pretty significant and I'm still in a bit of shock.

I need to run to Menards, hobby lobby, and grocery store. Also need to do laundry. I've barely moved off my recliner so far.
I have 6 lbs of meat thawing to start in freezer meals too.

I've had one decent night of sleep in the last two weeks. It's a Starbucks kind of day.
I really need to take a day off before this baby comes to be myself without MH and my toddler clinging to me.

0 to 1 kid was definitely the hardest transition for me. DS1 was almost 3 when DS2 was born and TBH he was a fricking nightmare. omg. he was delightful as a 2-year-old and turned into a total threenager-- testing, tantrums, the works. ughhhh. i hope DS2 will stay sweet. :S
in another news, we got our minivan (honda odyssey) this weekend. buying a car while pregnant=not fun. also buying a car over memorial day weekend was probably not the best idea either. but it's done and i finally feel like i quasi-have my shit together. all the new safety features really make me feel like the car is judging my driving, lol.
Question for minivan owners: How do you maximize your cargo space? the honda has a deep well in the back so that you can fold the 3rd row down into it. however, we are not going to be doing that anytime soon bc we have one of the car seats in the 3rd row. i'm wondering how i'm going to fit all my groceries in the back-- it seems precarious to put a row of bags and then pile another layer on top of it. should i get one of those hard cargo mats to cover over the well so i have a 2nd layer? do cargo nets or baskets help?

Congrats on the Odyssey vvvvvfeeI’m a little terrified of going from 1 to 2. Going from 0 to 1 was very rough on me and my marriage. So now that dd will be 4 when dd2 is born I’m really hopeful that it will be a bit easier. Also, I don’t know how you ladies do it. I feel so huge and don’t want to move and have been very non helpful at home. I guess I need that nesting urge to hit a bit stronger.

Do Braxton hicks make anyone else feel like they are gasping for air? Idk if it's because baby is high or my uterus is big, but damn it makes me feel like I just ran a marathon.
Also, heartburn because I drank water. 🙄
I've done 2 loads of laundry but haven't left the house to run my errands yet.

klw, the helpful info i gathered from the ladies here when i got the same diagnosis a couple of weeks ago: get the slow release kind and take it with vitamin C. i haven't been having constipation issues, but the vitamin C does tend to give me heartburn. i think i will try switching to a chewable. i've been taking the iron at night (i still take my prenatal w/iron in the morning) because i tend to eat more dairy in the morning (milk in coffee, etc.) and calcium interferes with iron absorption.

kam3100 I totally remember the stress in the marriage. It was fine at first, but I think it was when DD hit a Year that I remember things got rough. I was late on my period and was hoping not to be pregnant because I really didn't think we would make it.

klw, 45 mg of elemental iron/equivalent to 142 mg of ferrous sulfate the nurse at my OB recommended Slow FE brand-- the one i linked to on amazon is a generic version of that. plus they wanted me to continue to take my prenatal, which has another 30 mg of iron.

vvvvvfee, We put all three car seats in the second row (we have a 2014) to fully utilize the cargo space. It is so nice because with the third row folded down, we can fit so much stuff back there without even trying to maximize space - pack n play, two umbrella strollers, four suitcases, blankets, toys, food, etc. Now we're going to have to put two seats in the third row so I'm just as stumped how to fit all our luggage and gear for trips. I stack grocery bags all the time. I just put the heavy stuff in first and pile the bread, chips, and eggs on top. We do weekly shopping most often and don't buy in bulk.

I'm only adding kid #2, but we have a CRV (and our other car is tiny...) we decided that since we can fit most of our "usual" trips in the cargo space, that we'd get a roof rack cargo things for big trips. I know a family that had an old subaru forester with their 3 car seats across the back row, and they just always had their rooftop cargo pod on the car.

I'm going to have to call the doctor about my heartburn. I am having trouble focusing on my work at this point because I'm so uncomfortable. How did I not have this for even 1 minute with my first two kids?

1 to 2 kids was much harder for us than 0 to 1 but I think that had to do with spacing maybe. They are only 17 months apart so it was like having 2 babies in a lot of ways. I'm hoping 2 to 3 is a breeze! :-)

We went to Six Flags Great America over the holiday weekend with my parents and my sister and her family - 6 adults and 5 kids ages 19 months - 6 years old. Our kids had an absolute blast! We did the amusement park one day and the water park and more rides the next day. We might make a roller coaster rider out of DS1 yet. He clung on tight on all the rides but he claimed to enjoy it. DD loved the roller coasters. Although she's the one most likely to get motion sickness, she loved the thrill. The sun and heat were a bit much for me, but luckily I was able to spend a lot of time sitting in the shade with DS2 while we people watched or he napped.
We have season passes because they were so cheap even if they're used only a couple times. We've used them three times already so well worth it. My sister lives in the St Louis area and my parents offered to take DS1 and DD down there this summer to go again with my sister's family again. I'm sure they'd love it but I'm unsure about letting them take my kids 300 miles away.

I'm hoping 2 to 3 is a breeze! :-) Our first two are also 17 months apart. The inability for DS1 to communicate at that age was our biggest hurdle. We just wanted one of them to tell us why they were crying! DD and DS2 are almost 2 years apart. That extra 6 months of development were huge for us. Kid 3 joined our family without us missing a beat.
You're a pro. You've got this!
