Did a second interview today for a really nice job with a great company but I will have to travel to their far office weekly 😬 Good luck! How far is far? And is the weekly travel a deal breaker? Maybe if they really want you, you'll be able to negotiate travel to the office less often than once a week.

Ugh, I am still sick and in worse shape than last week. This cold needs to GTFO! I can barely function.

I'm still carrying a bunch of water weight from surgery but it's summer break now so I'm doing what I can with DD. The doc increased my lasix so hopefully that helps. Poor kid has been inside for 3 hours so after lunch I'll take her to a park to run off energy.

That is a long drive. It's about the same I have to travel to my corporate office when I have to go. Thankfully, it's much less frequent than once a week. I hope you are able to negotiate less travel! GL!

I'm at DS' school today subbing. I'm a floater because they've been having meetings for next year so I've covered three different teachers of all grades. It's me & a couple more people. It's been a day.

Also today again DS had an issue in gym. I knew because I was outside at recess & he was sitting alone on the ground. He wrote his name in chalk with a sad face next to it. He had said all thoughout gym he was being teased & not by the regular kid by a kid that is allegedly his friend. A kid on his soccer team too that is always with him too. Like I don't get why my kid is becoming a target. I went & told the office because the principal is preoccupied all day. Then I found the gym teacher finally & he said he did talk to the other kid & it seemed like DS had an okay time at gym so he was a lil perplexed. DS told me he was being ignored by the gym teacher. I am just so done like I don't know what to do anymore. Then I was watching him at second recess bc my class faces the back & my class was in computer lab. No one was with him. He seemed to be entertaining himself decently but DH & I were discussing this a while ago & I feel like when we were in school they encouraged kids to not leave others out or at least checked on them to see if they're feeling lonely. His teacher was just standing there with the parapro socializing. He even went up to her a couple times to just talk. Clearly he's not with a friend & lonely. I just don't know how to feel about all this. It's making me feel a type of way.

I am surprised they aren't encouraging other kids to play with him at recess or him to play with them. If he is drawing sad faces with his name, clearly he is sad about something. Did anyone else not see that? That should prompt someone to go talk to him. Man, I would be so upset.

I didn't sleep well last night. Every position hurt. I got blood work this morning and now I'm hanging out while DD plays outside games with her friends for a few hours. A nap would be great.

DD came home yesterday hot and worn out, so today is a relax day. She had so much fun playing those games. I also have a massive amount of dishes to wash.

So tomorrow DS has a field trip to a metropark that they do annually for the 1st & 2nd grades. It involves hiking & some presentations put on by the park staff at one of the facilities there. They are going to be there practically all day. It's going to 85. I asked his teacher earlier this week if we can send in a water bottle because there's no way he's not going to want water or a beverage besides lunch. She said yes but to make sure it can "be recycled" because I guess to bring anything back is too hard. Fine. Today she sends a mass message on this app we use saying if you want to bring water bottles in their backpack you can "But the students are responsible for their belongings! There will also be a water fountain and juice at lunch!" Seriously? So no one at all will just give friendly reminders to make sure you grab your water bottles, etc while they're moving from place to place or just carry some kind of thing for their water bottles or leave it somewhere that you guys can then get it after whatever activity?! Are they really expecting no one to be thirsty until lunch?! Like wtf. When they initially sent the note home about the trip, it details hiking, walking, river walk/talk, etc so I'm envisioning a TON of walking since I know the park they're going to. I just don't understand these people.

Not to mention that no parents are "needed" so excuse me for expecting you all to manage these kids staying hydrating & not making it a big freaking deal if my son happens to misplace his water bottle on his trip. I mean they're 6 year olds FFS! I mean, how hard is it to bring a cooler?

NamasteBirches that's messed up and backwards. If they're not bringing water bottles on a hike, are they not bringing a first aid kit also? The staff sound lazy.

There's nothing more annoying than having to hear a baby on the damn soccer field. Not just that we have a couple older siblings of other kids playing with the baby saying "weeeee" over & over again. SHUT.UP.

I took my son to his dance recital rehearsal today. They didn’t let us go in this year so I hung around outside with a couple of the other moms. I had a book with me but decided it would probably be good to be more social.
The dance recital is tomorrow night, on our tenth anniversary. My parents are taking D to their house right after the recital at least.

So parents weren't allowed on the field trip today but teachers were allowed to bring their kids & own parents along. Makes sense.
