woodenshoes good luck!! Getting L up and ready was not too bad, but I can imagine 2 kids would be much more difficult, so I’ll be thinking of you! I’m sure you’ll rock it! And hopefully those 2 weeks will go by quickly.

Eek yianna that’s a terrible situation but glad your daughter is okay. It will take a few days but you will get in a new rhythm. Glad YH will be there to help too. Speaking of supply issues, I’m super nervous for my upcoming trip. With DS1, our first trip out of town ruined my supply (due to inconsistent feedings) and it never recovered. I don’t want that to happen again. Also right now I pump twice a day - once after my morning feed and once EOD after L goes to bed. I’m freezing around 8 oz a day. I don’t know what to do when I go out of town because we will be gone for two weeks. I can’t just stop pumping but I have no idea what to do with the milk. It’ll likely be around 100 oz. We’ve already looked into shipping it home but that’s ridiculously expensive. Should I just pump and dump? I hate to waste that much milk but keeping my supply up is more important to me.

Who here uses a ring sling? I just got one and I need help! I got a quick demo from the shop I bought it from, but that was 2 weeks ago and I can’t remember much. Any links to helpful tutorials?
The shop owner recommended wearing the rings on your non-dominant side so you have more range of motion with your dominant hand, but lots of videos seem to say the opposite. Maybe it makes a difference if you’re carrying on your hip, but for now I’ll be doing the newborn carry. Idk, I’m new to this and pretty lost.
I’m going to try to go to a babywearing meeting as soon as I find out when/where one is.

yianna That’s so scary, I’m so sorry! I’m glad your H will be home for a bit and you guys have a plan. Hang in there! clementine I wear DS2 in a ring sling almost every day, and I like it. There’s definitely a learning curve. I watched one video on threading the rings, then this one from Wrapping Rachel like Leaf 🌱 suggested: For what it’s worth, I wear with the rings on my dominant side. It just feels weird having them on the other side, for whatever reason. If you have specific questions or want general tips before you can get to a meeting, I can try to help?

Thanks Leaf 🌱 and katietopaz! I tried it out after watching a few videos and it seemed to go okay. The rings were a little low after putting him in so I think I need to start out with them a little higher. Does it need to be threaded specifically for one side or the other? Mine came threaded already. I think he had a pretty food seat, but I seem to remember the lady saying you needed quite a bit of fabric between baby and you, like maybe up to baby’s bellybutton? But I had a hard time getting it up that high.

I found a $50 bill on the floor at CiCi’s (no judgesies DH weirdly loves it and DD was free and I don’t have to cook). I told the hostess I have it if some one asks about it. Can I keep it if no one does?

Can I keep it if no one does? I would say yes too. If no one claims it the restaurant would most likely keep it and/or split it between workers.

But I had a hard time getting it up that high. I don’t think it needs to be threaded specifically for one side. I always struggle with the rings feeling a little low after I tighten him in, too. I aim to pull the bottom rail up to the belly button, but don’t stress if it doesn’t quite get there. I focus more on getting that good M-shape with their legs and a deep seat. I start with it a little loose, set the baby’s butt on the fabric, then just pull the top rail up only as much as I need, so I have plenty of fabric at the bottom to reach in between us and try to pull up as high as I can before I tighten.

These are adorable!! My answer depends on how big the canvases will be and if they will be in the same space or separate but here are mine: 2, 10, 13, 18, 20, 24 and 28. Also can you ask your photographer to do mock ups of the photos? Mine asked for a photo of where they would be and inserted them in the space - it really helped me visualize which worked best.

clementine, if you lift baby and pull across towards your other arm to tighten, the rings tend not to slip down.

Check in being a donor for a milk bank. I believe they supply shipping materials. I’m local to one so I don’t ship but I’m pretty sure that’s how they do it. I can PM you the milk bank I work with.

Anyone else have a baby with really sensitive or rash-prone skin? I almost wonder if DS2 has some eczema because he has these big red patches on his face that flare up on and off. I try to keep his skin dry and clean, but should I also be using some kind of lotion?

I think DD is still in the normal window of baby acne (6w) but it seems to flare or get really red sometimes and then look fine at others.

Huh. I actually think the tongue tie has reprogrammed my baby. He’s still cranky AF when he doesn’t get his way or if he’s not asleep right at the moment he thinks he should be (um me too), he’s been talking and smiling so much. It’s seriously such a change.

I actually thought it was heat rash sometimes because it got so bad. But it’s mostly disappeared now so I don’t know.

If it is, it’s much, much worse than DS1 ever had it. I don’t know about your DD, but my DS2’s rash is almost scaly and has some dry patches. And it’s different from the cradle cap (which he also has, poor guy).

yianna I attended a daycare as a child (0-8yo) and we discovered the H had molested every girl there at that time except me, as far as I recall. It’s terrifying. I’m glad you have a new plan in place and I hope you are happy and your daughter adjusts quickly. Having a plan for her time home will make it more like a vacation and probably easier for her

clementine I use a RS and the rings are on my non dominant arm. It just feels better there. I struggle to tighten it as much as I’d like and I only use it for the first few months. I prefer my ergo, but hate the infant insert so I wait until baby is bigger.
