I had a great weekend with my brother and his girlfriend in town. I wish they lived here so we could see them more. His gf is a nanny and going to grad school to be a child psychiatrist so she is way, way, way better with our kids than we are. Em loves her so very much.
I just went to Barre so I feel great. I'm doing really good working out but then want brownies afterwards so I'm not doing good actually losing weight.
I'm 90% sure my work screwed up my paid parental leave. I would be really pissed but I kind of expected this and I have 12 months to use it so I think I'll just take an additional 6w off at some other point in the year.

Hi! I'm back after being MIA nearly 2 weeks. Between 3 birthdays, a round of the stomach flu in our house, graduation, Mother's Day, R's one month appointment, and family members visiting, things have been absolutely crazy and so busy. We all now have colds, but life is settling down and getting back to normal(ish).
I started working out and dieting hard core a week ago. I've done good with BBM 5.0 so far and have already lost 4 pounds, an inch down in both my hips and waist (woot, woot). R gained 4 pounds and has grown 2.25 inches, so he's doing great! He does have thrush though (there's some back story with this and I'm trying to not worry, but ugh!).
That's my update. Looking forward to reading back and trying to catch up and hopefully jump back in again!

I have my pp check up this afternoon. If she says I’m good to go I need to start getting back in shape. The wedding is coming up fast and I still haven’t tried on my dress because I’m scared to.

cornpop does that mean you'll have to go back soon? Good for you mattsgirl2004!! Fx you're good to go ArielMermaidFour of the last six days I've got out to go running first thing in the morn. When DS wakes I feed him and put his carseat in the stroller. I'm still doing more walking than running at this point, but I'm feeling pretty good about getting out there.

alwayscheese I was always going back June 15th but I was supposed to be being paid the whole time. Now I'm not being paid the last 6w. So instead I'll just take another 6w paid some other time. It's confusing

That’s awesome mattsgirl2004! Hopefully life slows down for you a little now. alwayscheese I wish I could run. I’m so afraid I’d crash the stroller and also I hate running. cornpop I’ve been interested in barre but haven’t ventured out to try it. I haven’t even been back to yoga, which I really miss. It’s been easier to just work out in my living room, though definitely not as fun. ArielMermaid hope you get the green light to start working out! Sending pound melting vibes your way. I’m enjoying my day home with L. I’m working Tues and Thurs this week, and I’m so thankful I’m able to ease back into my regular schedule over a few weeks.

clementine I'd recommend it! It's a good workout but you can modify as needed. There's a few PopSugar Barre videos you can try on YouTube.

Great job mattsgirl2004! How are you liking BBM 5.0? I was looking at starting that while I wait for J to be old enough for my gyms drop in childcare. cornpop I’m sorry that your work screwed up your leave...but I’m glad you’ll be able to take it later. We’ve been trying to do a scavenger hunt over the weekend. My city has painted 70 objects and hid them in honor of a big charity event they do every year. We haven’t found any yet, but it’s been a good activity for DD. She took a nap both sat and sun! She gets in less trouble when she takes a nap, but she hasn’t been taking them lately.

I'm almost done with week 2 of BBM. I enjoy it and it's a good quick workout. ArielMermaid fx you get cleared. cornpop that's frustrating about the leave but at least you can still use it later.

We were out of town a few days last week for events for my BIL's graduation and it was rough not having our usual routine. The baby had her 2 month appt and shots on Thursday. She's almost 10 pounds but at least gained two since her one month.
She was pretty miserable from her shots for a few days and now both girls have colds. D1 came into our room around 1am this morning with a 103 fever and woke up with a 104 temp this morning. The baby seems to be doing better but only wants to be held. And D1 is so sad and just wants mom cuddles which makes me feel bad because I can't give her the attention she wants because of the baby.

mattsgirl2004, sounds like you have been super busy!! And killing it with the BBM! cornpop I’m sorry about your leave, that sucks. Is there no chance they can fix it and pay you now or is it just too late? ArielMermaid hope you get the all clear! alwayscheese, glad you feel great getting out in the morning!

We had a mostly good weekend. Saturday was DS1’s birthday so Friday evening we went to Disney and watched the night parade. He LOVED it! Saturday was not our best day but we had his party yesterday and it was so much fun. Kid is so spoiled. He’s been happily playing with his new toys ever since.
AW post of him: PDQ Poof
L has been so fussy the last few days. He seems to be over napping. Which just adds to his fussiness. Vicious cycle. Ugh.

It’s a good thing I can exercise again. THAT bridesmaids dress doesn’t even come close to fitting. I have no idea what I’m going to do.

auri So far I'm liking it. I'm only a week into it and was actually expecting it to be a little more intense at first, but am glad it's not. My body is so out of shape. I need to be eased into it, haha.

My parents 40th wedding anniversary is next April. DH and I have decided to host a semi-formal party for them to celebrate. I just reserved the venue and I'm pretty excited to plan this event. It's kind of like planning a wedding, but not quite as stressful or as expensive.
Also, my parents have no clue (yet). I plan on telling them beforehand, but not sure when. I think they're going to be pretty happy and surprised and can't wait to fill them in on the plans. 😀

I hope she feels better soon and that you're able to get some extra snuggles in.

We have 3 weddings in the next 2 months and I have ordered... several dresses to try. Okay, more than several. Ordering dresses online is always a crapshoot for sizing anyway, and even more so now that I have a giant chest and squishy belly to fit. I took a look at my credit card balance and almost had a heart attack wondering why it was so high.

Has anyone had supply problems while trying to lose weight while breastfeeding? I’m slightly worried I might wreck it trying to get my ass in this dress.

My app hasn't been working great so I haven't been keeping up as much as I would like! I'm hoping everyone is getting sleep and feeling good.
DD is awesome. So round and adorable. She is laughing, blowing raspberries and "talking" a ton. 7 weeks and wearing 3-6 month clothing.
I started the slow process of weaning her today. Feeling ready to stop BFing and get routine and order back in my life, and bring some to DD's as we get ready for daycare next month. I fully expect to get mastitis at least once in the process given how prone to it I am. Fingers crossed.

Crappy day time napping has resulted in an over tired baby who is trying to nurse to sleep but keeps waking up as soon as I put him down. Then he gets upset and wants to go back to nursing.

calendula Good luck weaning. I’ll keep my fingers crossed you don’t get mastitis. I will say cabbage leaves did wonders to help dry me up...even though DD and DH made fun of me.

I’m sorry I’ve been a little MIA. We had DS1’s third birthday party with friends yesterday. Today was his third day of preschool and he’s loving it! He’s adjusted fairly quickly, and honestly I’m enjoying having my mornings to run errands or get things done at home. Both of which are so much easier with just the baby!
I wore a hole today in the only non-maternity jeans that fit me so I guess I’m going shopping tomorrow. I just want to black out the sizes, because 😩

Sounds like we’ve all been a little MIA. I’ve just been hanging out in the royals thread... We’re out and about for the weekend and G sucks at sleeping in hotels and has been up till midnight both nights. A was sooo upset about being in her car seat and/or carrier all day and let us know it. But look how pretty:

gldnbearz I hope you were able to get baby to sleep and you were able to get rest too. calendula Good luck with the weaning. I hope it goes much more smoothly than you're expecting. Your DD is adorable. clementine I did the same thing trying to find a dress to wear to DS1's graduation. I still never found one I liked and sent them all back. I hope you find one that works!

Those of you who formula feed, check your insurance plan and see if formula is covered...even if only a portion of it is. Our prescription insurance (Express Scripts) covers a 90 day supply of formula for only a co-pay cost of $5 for us! It's so nice to not have to pay for formula and they send it all to our house. Worth a shot for anyone to check out. Just thought I'd share.
