catspajamas2, all of DS1's friends from daycare were districted for other elementary schools, and i didn't know any other parents going in. there's a bit of a learning curve at first, but honestly, it's all been fine. look up a moms/parents fb group for your city, those are helpful for answering random questions that might come up. otherwise i just called the school and asked the office staff. the only major thing now is making sure that you've submitted all the paperwork for K registration- which you've probably done already. the school/district will begin flooding you with emails, texts, etc. in august.

I bought Miralax at the grocery store and rubbed hydrocortisone ointment on my vag after I showered. Pregnancy is so glamorous. 😣

I put together a changing table and I told that my ass was sweaty and my right boob was leaking. Pregnancy is glamorous

Almost a week in the hospital . It's really not too bad because I can walk around and be mostly normal but I'm really sick of the L&D floor already and hospital food. But they monitor baby girl everyday and she's been looking great and showing off on her NSTs. Being confined to the single L&D hallway during labor was bad enough. I can't imagine facing days or weeks of it. It's so so so worth it though. Glad she's doing well!

I just started looking into childcare options for DS1 when he starts kindergarten in the fall. I've talked to enough parents and followed the school's PTO FB page the last school year to feel comfortable with the school. But now I have to figure out who's going to care for him before and after school and on breaks. I found an in-home that could take him and the baby which would be awesome because I don't really like the center for infants. Surprisingly, she could take all four kids! And we'd pay 33% less for all 4 kids than what we're paying for 3 right now! (I recognize one of them is starting school so that accounts for some of the decrease). The biggest drawback to an in-home is finding back-up care for their vacations and sick time. But it's not like we go on vacation so DH has all kinds of extra vacation time he can use to stay home with the kids I hesitate to pull the 18 month old and 3.5 year old from the center at this point though. The kids learn so much academically at the center so I'd like to research preschools and try to enroll one or both of them for the 2019/2020 school year. The center and in-home are only 6 blocks apart so it won't be too much trouble to drop off/pick up at two places. The other option is before and after care at the school. It's more expensive and I won't know for a couple months if he gets a spot.

Probably because it messes with teacher hours/contracts to do it after school hours. DD started K this year so in August they had a "Back to School" night. Problem was that it wasn't mandatory for teachers to be there. And if the teacher wasn't there then their classroom was shut. I was so disappointed because she was so nervous, so I figured it would be a good chance for her to meet her teacher, see her desk, etc. Only 2 of the 6 Kindergarten teachers were there. ours was in the evening, too. and not all of the K teachers were there, but we didn't even know which classroom he'd be assigned to at that point, anyway. We don’t find out who her teacher is until the night before they start. Talk about being serious about having the summer off! It’s just weird that the tours and assessments are during the current school year, so most of the teachers are unavailable to even meet parents. Then the open house is just come in for 30min to bring a bunch of classroom supplies and to get a list of additional teacher-specific supplies that our child will also need. Seems like they are not well organized at all. The only other time to meet the teachers is a “kindergarten camp” we can sign her up for that costs $300 for the week and that’s in early June when we are still paying for preschool. Kindergarten planning is stressful!

Ate half a small apple with my lunch (kept total carbs under 30). Blood sugar spiked to 159 1hr later. Sigh.

I think we've picked a crib and dresser. Hallelujah! What did you get? DD's bed is from her crib, but now I am considering getting her a new set with a nice dresser and nightstand and using her old set for the baby. I know I need to decide soon!!

I have gotten so much done the past few days. I finished cleaning the nursery today (Its completely empty except for the crib) now we are ready to fix some drywall cracks and paint! Just to find the time to get it done. I also cleaned the play room today.
DS had his 3 year well check this morning and I had my 32 week appt (3 days early). He's 38 inches and 32 lbs. And I measured at 35 weeks. So I'll have an ultrasound next week to check baby's size and fluid level.

I’m trying to sweet talk my FIL into building a Montessori floor bed that looks like a house. www.hertoolbelt.com/house-frame-bed-full-size/

My OB said to eat normal meals. My lunch is a pb sandwich, prunes, and a box of dark chocolate yogurt covered raisins. Sooo I hope that's not too many carbs lol. But I'll be eating it at like 10am and my appt isn't until 3.

The snoo is 30% off for memorial day... I think I might pull the trigger. DH is being surprisingly agreeable about it. I think that's because we don't really need to buy anything else for this kiddo.

I have morning heartburn today, which is incredibly unfair. I feel like the full panel maternity pants press on my esophagus and make it worse.

Heartburn started bothering me at 10:30 last night while I was watching tv in bed (sitting up). I was too lazy to go downstairs for a zantac, which was a mistake. It bothered me all night and I still have it this morning. Fun times.

I feel like I need a day off without DS and without DH to sleep and recharge. I'm so tired and I'm so cranky this week. DS is getting his 2 year old molars and is a mess. DH is complaining about every little thing. I just want to be left alone.
