Why does my 3yr old treat me like a jungle gym? Does he not realize I'm 8 months pregnant 😩 YES. And the bigger I get, the more she wants to climb me. I'm so sore.

goldenbird, I swear they know. I only got one short little bloop of DD kicking because she would stop every time, as does this one. Also, once they're out of the womb, and doing something cute, they will also stop every time you pull out your phone to record it. It's a sixth sense. I gave up shaving like 3 years ago haha. I might shave my legs once a month, and I keep other areas trimmed, but full on shaving is just too much effort and time.

I definitely have no problem letting the lady bits turn into a jungle when I’m pregnant. I know the OBs don’t care - I’m not grooming myself for their benefit, especially when I can’t see or reach anything...

However, summer is forcing me to keep it up a bit more thanks to pool season and I will shave right before delivery since everything gets so darn messy down there.

It’s hitting me today that we are really getting close to the end ladies. I can’t believe some of y’all are 34 weeks! It’s getting so real!

I did just hang pictures in the nursery (that I've been meaning to do for 2 years hahahaha) so I'm like, halfway there, right? Still need to take out the larger dresser, anchor it to the wall, and wash all the baby clothes. And hire someone to deep clean my house, because I have no nesting urge or motivation to do it myself.

So question. My bestie really wants to have a little shower thing for me at her mom's house. It would be like five guests max besides her and myself. Probably just a few gifts, more of an excuse to hang out. She's not planning to do it until the 3rd Saturday in July though, and I'll be 36 weeks. What/how much should I leave on the registry for them to choose from? I honestly had planned to have most everything bought a couple weeks before that. I don't want to just leave like 2 or 3 pricier items and make them go in on stuff. Am I overthinking this?

Oh those are both good ideas. And I'm sure they would buy clothes/blankets too, if nothing else.

I'm strongly considering buying the Owlet foot monitor thing. It's $300 😵. But that would be some amazing peace of mind for my super anxious mind. My friend has it and loves it.

GD mamas- most of my sugar levels for this week have been under the target range, except for twice where my fasting sugars were at 98 and 97. That's not too bad, right? Everything else is at like 105 for my 1hr numbers, and most of my fasting numbers are 92-95. I'm terrified of having to take insulin. I hate needles.

Seems good to me though it’s been a couple years since I had GD. Maybe try something different for your snack before bed and see if that helps your fasting numbers? Also, hopefully they’d consider metformin prior to insulin if you do need some extra help.

I don't know what part of his body is on my right side, but that side of my belly is almost always a little higher up. It looks silly.

Most people get clothes for the baby while the parents or close family get the baby gear or pricier items. I would leave some clothes, sleep sacks, diapers, wipes and baby essentials. I think a lot of people also like to go shopping for that cutesy stuff and don't go on the registry.

My fasting numbers have been between 89-94 and the few times where my 2hr numbers have been high it's because I went over my carb limit.

I had my maternity pictures done today and I have to say I like them better than my daughters. Same photographer but I’m thinking there is something to be said about girls stealing their mother’s beauty. Also helps I’ve been doing HIIT class 3x week this pregnancy.
I’m also have the owelet on my list, but I think I’ll go through the company’s website so I can break up the payments to $25/month for a year with no interest. I don’t think they ever go on sale :/

Mine have been mostly in the 95-100 range, higher than my other pregnancies. Under 100 is usually acceptable for most offices. The bigger concern is that they may get worse as GD gets more severe (peaks around 36w). It could be on the higher side because your after meal numbers are so low. You may need to bump up your carbs a little to keep your sugar from bottoming out so early during the night....or try to push your evening snack a little later. I’ve tried doing that, but so hard with 2 kids. I’ve also noticed that my fasting number is higher the worse my sleep is. I’ve been having boughts of insomnia lately, so that’s not helping!

I wear boy short swimsuit bottoms - problem solved! My skin is so sensitive that a close shave always results in a nasty rash so all I do is clip, even when I’m not pregnant.

goldenbird if it’s just a small number of people for a shower then chances are you won’t get a lot (if any) of the larger essential things off your registry anyway, so I think you’re safe buying what you think you’ll want/need before then. You can leave some books, clothes, toys, diapers on there - those are things you don’t need lots of right away but if you get extra it’s okay. Plus people like buying those things (minus diapers) as gifts, in my opinion.

I think today was my last day to shave my legs in the shower. I need to come up with a new option. Can not bend over and breathe at the same time anymore! I'm really thankful that we put in a new shower with a seat last fall. I don't sit on the seat, but it's easy to put my leg up on it to shave (for now). The other personal grooming, however, is a disaster, and I'm choosing to ignore it even though it's pool season, since I can't see it anyway!
