Mainly started this bc my child likes to take about an hour to get back to sleep for at least one of her wake ups. I thought we are having a good night bc her first stretch was 3.5 hours. This time it’s been 1.5 hours to get her back down and she is stirring so I’m giving her a few minutes before I go back to sleep to make sure she is actually sleeping. Also the toddler has been waking multiple times tonight so DH is sleeping with him.

I contemplated starting this last night. L screamed for at least 3 hours last night on and off. She'd nurse, stop to scream and get some gas out, nurse more while swallowing some air. It was not good. I think we're running on 3 very broken hours of sleep. FX I won't need this thread tonight.

I have SO FAR been blessed with a baby who does not keep me up much longer than his feeds (knocking on all of the wood, and I realize things can change quickly). My older son couldn't be put down and never slept for more than 2 hours for the first year of his life and is nearly 3 and still needs me to fall asleep and wakes during the night, so I have paid my dues for a baby like this.

Apparently jaundiced babies are sleepier so the past few restful nights have been a sham. This little guy seems to have decided to clusterfeed tonight so I’m sure that I’m in for a treat!

I don’t understand how during the day she passes out after eating so easily but at night she has such a hard time. I’ve been trying to get her to bed for an hour and a half now.

The nurse offered to take the baby for a bit so I could sleep. I just got almost three hours in a row. Now to remember what to do with the baby and why.

I just had a panic because he slept for 3 hours. I don't know how that happened because the night before he was up feeding and not enjoying his bassinet. The night is still young though. I hope that wasn't his last good chunk tonight.

My toddler woke up a little while ago crying and wanting to find (one of the million that we own) his garbage truck. I ended up bringing him into bed with me and told him I’d find it after he fell asleep. Luckily he went back to sleep right away.
The baby on the other hand has woken every 3 hours, eaten, and gone right back to sleep,

Last night compared to tonight are night and day. She's only woken to eat, latched right on, and passed out while continuing to eat. She is a Houdini baby though and breaks out of all swaddle attempts. Her brother was one as well so we have many different swaddle types that should contain her when we get home.

E seems to fight her swaddle, not necessarily break out but fights it so hard. I think she is starting to get used to it now but she grunts around with it so much. Anyways, I have like a million swaddles between the ones I already had from DS and the new ones I’ve bought for her to try.

Up for wakeup 2 at 5am. Technically it should be wakeup 3 but since she took forever to actually go to sleep initially here we are. I’m trying to trick her by putting a heating pad on her bed while she nurses and then remove it so when I lay her back down it’s nice and warm and cozy. Not sure if this works or not but worth a try

I just came here to have a bitch about this very thing. child, go to sleep! You slept all day through construction noise and DD squealing. Now you need 7 feeds, two nappies, multiple burps, two doses of hick ups and 2.5 hours of effing around only to decide you still won’t sleep so I have to sit up and hold of you and go another night with 45 mins rest? It’s day 11. I’m so tired. DD1 was a bad sleeper. Looks like I know how to breed em. Watch out to the next person who asks me if she’s sleeping through yet.

The regular one we have now seems inferior after I tried rocking it for 20 minutes and fell asleep.

Her days and nights and confused. My girl was doing the same thing. Doctor said to have lots of light on during the day and blinds open. Try to keep her awake for a bit after each feeding during the day and try to feed more frequently in daytime if she will let you. At night keep it dark and boring and only change the diaper if it’s poopy or HAS to be changed.

ajm my friends had the auto rock and play and raved about it so we got it for us. It was really helpful last night when he was grumbling about the bassinet.

She falls asleep at night sometimes within a few minutes but the biggest thing is when I lay her down she wakes back up just a few minutes later so we do the dance all over again

We upgraded this pregnancy, and L sleeps so great in that thing. I only use it at night time, and I only swaddle him at night too.

I have one sleepy baby that needs to eat because of jaundice and breasts that need relief. I’m probably going to have to pump too.

I've been cosleeping with L while at the hospital. The nurses have all been turning a blind eye to it and telling me to enjoy my time alone with her. I'm looking forward to using the auto RnP at home tonight. She really likes being cuddled so it should be a smooth transition into that.

Anyone else have serious night sweats? I remember this from DS but omg I wake up drenched in sweat every single night. Besides that and that E sucks the life out of me it’s no wonder I’ve lost a good chunk of my baby weight.

We got home earlier today. Such a welcome change from the hospital. My H is putting the toddler to bed and I'm watching the baby sleep in the auto rock n play. Waiting for it to be time for my next dose of pain meds so I can maybe get some sleep too but I've still got an hour. Today has been my most active day and I'm getting break through pain for sure. Hulk baby really did a number on my tailbone and groin ligaments. And yet somehow I only needed one (big) stitch.
I will +whatever all of you singing the praises of the auto rock n play. This thing is AMAZING.

It’s lovely.

I’ve sent up some prayers to the baby sleep gods for all of us tonight. 🙏💤🙏💤 FX! Hoping it works for my toddler too. He's always the wild card, and he has a cold so he's sleeping even worse than usual. I did dose him with Benadryl, so the odds might be in my favor.

I can’t remember that part.
