Sitting watching Finding Nemo with my almost-3 yo DD, baby W and DH. Snuggled under blankets (its autumn here and just starting to cool down). Maternity leave is feeling pretty good right now.

A friend from my last job is coming over to see the new house today. She said she’d pick up lunch on the way! Yay! Out to eat with the family tonight for FIL’s birthday. I love a day free of meal obligations on my part!

So, I'm worried about DH. He's for some reason trying to have a late schedule again, and he's only coming to bed at like 2 or 3 am. Yesterday we got woken up at 4 by the dog getting sick in our bed. I was able to fall back asleep at 6ish until 12, but he only got a 2 hour nap. This morning, we were woken up at 8:30, again by the dog getting sick (on the floor this time. Haven't figured out why he's sick yet). So DH got maybe 6 hours of sleep. I decided to go back to bed for a nap, and asked him if he'd like to come with and he got all snippy and told me that he can't sleep now, that he's up for the day. Since he picked up an extra shift that means he'll be up until at least 1 am. He gets really cranky when he gets woken up in the middle of a sleep or doesn't get enough sleep, and for the most part doesn't go back to sleep. I know when little man comes, unless he's a unicorn, a full sleep won't be happening for a while. I've tried to remind DH of that and suggest he learn to nap, but he says he just can't. Any suggestions for getting him ready for this? With me having the C section I'll definitely be needing his help for MOTN stuff.

Had my 34 week appointment with my OB yesterday, or, as the nurse called it, my last appointment where I get to keep my pants on. Baby still seems to be head down and the doc says I'm measuring on track and heart rate was good. The doc also approved my "have my cake and eat it too" approach to childbirth - namely that if I go into spontaneous labor, we can try for a VBAC, but we're still keeping my scheduled c-section on the calendar for 39 weeks. I'm thrilled to know that no matter what, I'll have an outside baby by June 22!
This is all starting to feel very real and I just sent out the email invites for DD1's birthday party on July 1 and it's crazy to think I'll be wearing a little munchkin at the party!! Eep.

Speedy I wish I had some good suggestions to help, but sleep is the hard part with the newborns. My husband and I are both bad at napping when we should and it's hard to get into that mode when the baby comes. Is your husband just picking up extra shifts now before the baby comes because he won't be able to later?

oreobitsy, Yeah, I'm luckily pretty good at napping, or at least resting. I did manage to convince him to come for a nap with me and he's less snappy now, although when the alarm first went off he had apparently just woken up from a dream about work so he was mad, and then demanding to know what time it was but half slurred in French lol. He picks up random extra shifts now and then, because he really doesn't work that much, and they're always asking him for help on the next shift. We do have to get our car safety inspected before the baby comes (it's overdue now) and we know that it'll be at least a couple hundred, plus we have to get a few more things and we're not sure when my benefits are going to start coming in with my screw up, so extra money is always good =)

I'm still only 2cm dilated. 😩 And my blood pressure and fluid levels are holding steady...so she is tentatively deciding not to induce until my appointment Thursday next week unless something really changes between now and then.
She did strip my membranes. I've been really crampy ever since and baby has been wiggling non stop. But who knows if it'll help.
And of course we got back from my appointment and found out Ella has a fever of 100.3 and is suddenly snotty out of nowhere. Do not need a sick toddler right now. Ahhhhh!

I didn’t have my membranes stripped but I had a lot of cervical checks over the course of 48 hours while in prodromal labor and I do think that helped move things along. I also know how it feels to be prepped to go early and then suddenly your due date is right in front of you and there is no plan to get baby out. FX your labor picks up soon.

My baby loves pooping. I’m changing about 12 diapers a day and every one is wet and has poop.
He also is developing rashes, not only on his butt but everywhere that the diaper comes in contact with his skin. We’re using Pampers, which was the only brand that worked for my older son, but I think we’ll need to experiment with others.

lovealwaysalison my DD has a cold too. I was so annoyed yesterday because she kept openly sneezing. She’s finally got the idea of covering her mouth today but I’d say it’s too late.

This baby has used those and huggies. So far both seem ok. She does have diaper rash already but bc of all the poops. So many poops.

Well, that was fun. I probably ate too much sweet today and I wasn't feeling good because of it. I gagged trying to take my evening pills which just made it worse so I went to the bathroom because I just knew that I was going to be sick. And I managed to vomit with such force that my false teeth came out... Luckily H is quick thinking and handed me some tongs to fish them out, but I think I'll be taking my teeth out the next time if I have some warning.

My H has passed his cold onto me. My doctor’s office doesn’t want me taking any of the stuff that would truly get rid of it so I’m stuck taking Tylenol which doesn’t really do that much. I would take sick leave to rest if I could but I still have so much to get done at the office before this baby arrives that I feel I just can’t. Pity party, party of one right here.

"I'm trying to calculate exactly how much sleep I have to get to be somewhat functional. I forgot about how nights go with a newborn. On the plus side, I'm definitely going to be awake to stream the royal wedding.

I'm here. Mostly just reading and love titting. We've had a busy week as DD really started taking to the bottles. She did so well Monday that she got to do her car seat test Tuesday. I was convinced it still would be a few days, like Friday, til she got to come home. So I came home Tuesday night to sleep. Right before I headed back to the hospital yesterday, the NICU nurse called to say Harper got to come home! So we finally brought her home at one month. Big sister was so excited to have her home and play with her. She also wanted to take her to school today. She was not a happy camper when I told her no. Lol.

I'm having a baby! My water broke as soon as I stood up out of bed this morning and contractions immediately started at 7 minutes a part. We dropped Ella off with Grandma and by the time we were to the hospital they were 5 minutes a part.
They got me in right away, checked me and I was 5cm so they got my epidural placed asap since last time I went from 4cm to 8cm in like no time after my water broke.
They checked me again about 10 minutes ago and I'm 6cm.
Watching Supernatural on TV and just waiting waiting!
