Things took a turn yesterday after naptime. DS has had a little bit of a cough lately but has otherwise been acting fine. But I discovered a fever after his nap! I felt bad and I hope we didn't overdo it yesterday morning with all the birthday fun. Poor guy.
Ended up being a rough night. He rarely gets sick and he had his highest fever ever, so I felt a little lost. I brought him to sleep with me so I could keep better watch on him. But between soothing him and him waking and rolling around and the baby kicking me all night every time I moved (!) it was a loooooooong night and I didn't get much sleep.
DS's fever is back to only low-grade this morning. MH brought me a cup of coffee and I'm having that in bed. I'm still hoping to get to my yoga class this morning - even if I just lay on my mat and snooze! Haha!
Happy weekend everyone!

When we've flown with L I've gone between wearing her and letting her walk because once she decides she doesn't want to stay up all hell breaks loose. What has saved us with the very independent toddler is using a leash for her, it lets her walk but keeps her from getting away from us. We have this one and this backpack one. One advantage to the backpack is it lets her take responsibility for some of her own things.

I think she would like having a little Independence and not having to be carried or stuck in a stroller.

My mom is actually the one who, without warning ordered and sent us three different types because she knew they would be helpful.

Thanks for the well wishes! Just put him down for a nap so hopefully he gets some good rest after his long night. I made it to my yoga class and I'm glad I went.
We're supposed to have a small family "party" for DS's birthday with my Dad's side tomorrow, but I just canceled the young kids to be safe.

Late but, I have traveled extensively with one or two toddlers from the time they were 6 months on. Baby wearing is great if you can manage, if not I do suggest a stroller and I think it is better to have the car seat on the plane if at all possible. Mostly because lap babies are exhausting and they are so used to their carseats that it keeps them snug and secure. Definitely take something to help with changing pressure in their ears. Whether it is a pacifier, a sippy cup they have to suck on or a treat like gummy bears- just something that makes them suck/chew will help with that discomfort on landing and take off.
Also if your airport is small and you have an extra set of hands, you will be fine. Don't stress. Don't give shit about what people think about the way your kid is acting. I once had some asshole tell me he could tell I was a good mom because my 6 month old was so well behaved on a flight. I replied I am a good mom but it was just sheer luck that a baby behaved on a flight.like a quiet baby =\= good parenting. Fuck off with that noise. Like don't give me that crap. Babies are unpredictable.
Anyways, hugs, it'll be fine, a little stressful maybe at times, but fine.
