Had my meeting with the GD specialist this morning. We went over how and when to check my sugar and a general overview of diet. I still have to go back next week for a 2hr class. I'm hoping I can manage all this with he right diet but it's hard staying within the carb limits and not being hungry😕 I had to add more protein to my snacks than what was called for. I also had two morning snacks because that was my hungriest time. I struggled to make it two hours after breakfast without more food, but I still have that problem. I can eat a two eggs and toast for breakfast at 6:30 and my tummy is still growling by 8:30. I'm running out of options for carb free snacks. I know a small piece of fruit is allowed but sometimes that's not enough. I've been trying to eat more cheese or peanut butter.

I hope you adjust to the diet quickly. It was an adjustment when I was pregnant with DD for sure but it did get easier! Thank you! It's hard because my go to snack is usually fruit and I really have to scale back on that. And the portion of pasta that's allowed with dinner is ridiculous! Ya pasta was depressing. I didn’t even bother with it because it hurt my soul too much. 😭

I switched to whole wheat pasta and never had high numbers. You could have a bigger portion size too. I hope you adjust to the diet quickly. TMI ahead
I just made an OB appointment for tomorrow because I'm a loony toon. Let's just say that Friday night's poop craziness resulted in me worrying that I may have given myself a vaginal infection. I've had a bit of itchy/burning feeling and I'm so paranoid. I figure better get it checked out. Of course I also used several of those cottonelle wipes to wipe my whole vag down when I realized how uh, close, stuff was. So that might have irritated it.

I'm thinking about starting my anxiety meds before I have the baby. And I feel really guilty for even thinking about it. My doctor said he'd be okay with it but the baby could experience withdrawals. I really don't want to take it, but idk if I can make it 9 more weeks feeling like this. Don't feel gulity. Healthy mom is the best thing for baby, hands down. That includes emotional health.

Ugh, after having to replace our AC last week, just find out we need a complete sewer line replacement. We thought it could be repaired and would be covered by our home protection plan, but they only cover partial repairs, not replacement. Not what we need financially. I'm sorry. House stuff is the worst.

The cottonElle brand wipes irritated me (& H actually) when they changed formulas a few years ago. Now we use the Charmin brand with no problems

klw I'm wondering if that's the issue. I use them to wipe off a bit after sex and I had noticed the last few weeks that it burned a little when I used them. I wonder if my skin is getting more sensitive down there because I hadn't noticed it until then. But I'll know one way or another after tomorrow lol.

I really don't want to take it, but idk if I can make it 9 more weeks feeling like this. If it helps, with DS I started zoloft shortly before I delivered him and he was a chill baby. My dr didn't hesitate to keep me on them this time. Don't feel guilty at all. A happy, healthy, medicated mom is so much better than a nonmedicated, struggling to function mom. At a certain point, the benefits out weigh the risks. That's what my doctor said. But the meds I take aren't recommended for pregnancy or breastfeeding. It's less of an issue with breastfeeding though since baby doesn't get near as much. I just feel like it'd be rest selfish of me to take it and then my baby have withdrawals or any problems... I'd never forgive myself.

notmoose, I went on Zoloft in early pregnancy and had to up the dose a little last month. The benefits outweigh the risks for me especially since I had PPD with my first. I don't want a repeat of that. I feel some guilt too, but my ob has been very reassuring and has told me she has never seen a baby with withdrawal symptoms from it. Yeah, Zoloft is probably the safest med for pregnancy. It doesn't work for me though. The plan has been for me to start my meds as soon as I have baby unless the anxiety gets too bad before. I had ppd with DD and ppa with ds (that never went away), so my doctor wants me back on them.

Ya pasta was depressing. I didn’t even bother with it because it hurt my soul too much. 😭 Yes!!! Pasta is my weakness😭😭😭 I pretty much try to skip the carbs with little to no nutritional value (pasta, rice, white bread, white potatoes) and stick to carby vegetables (corn, peas, carrots), nuts, beans, fruits, yogurt, ice cream. You can eat a lot more and not feel so starving. Still lost quite a few lbs after 3 weeks, so I’m trying to adjust to maintain weight better. I do love pasta though....I only eat it in small amounts at lunchtime when I’m not as hungry. I usually make a low-carb sauté of mushrooms, asparagus/zucchini/broccoli, and meat to have with it. And bread is another weakness, so I have a mini whole wheat bagel, English muffin or toast with breakfast.

And now we may have issues even when it is ready... MH turned the fan on the furnace thing and it blows great downstairs... it's barely coming out upstairs. If it doesn't work I will seriously cry. All our bedrooms are upstairs.

Add me to the list with AC problems. Of course DH is out of town so I have to deal with the service appointment. I can't work from home so I have to take time off work to be here.
DS1 and DD insisted on wearing winter PJs tonight and they wanted to be covered up. I hope their bodies go into survival mode and lose the blankets!

My church reached out to me yesterday to start a meal train for after the baby is born. Are we really close enough that it’s time for people to start asking about things like this?!! Yikes! 🙈

So last night I woke up around midnight thirsty, had water, laid back down. Within minutes my stomach/intestines were trying to murder me. Pain/gas. This talks about poop one loose poop, went back to sleep, woke up less than two hours later and had two pure liquid poop sessions like five minutes apart, with lots of gas release. I felt fairly dizzy during but that happens to me when I have diarrhea with intestinal cramping. Nothing since 3ish am, I'm peeing fine. Going to eat mostly toast and such today. Of course I ate chopped salad Tuesday evening and an apple yesterday afternoon so now e. Coli and listeria are on my mind. I did eat a decadent burger and fries fairly late last night so I'm wondering if it just overwhelemed my system. MH ate the exact same burger and fries and also the chopped salad and is fine. So that's good? I'm going to mention all this to the doctor today because I don't know what to watch for. Baby is moving but not as much as I'd like. But he probably didn't enjoy last night either.

I find that my kid has no problem kicking the covers off when she gets too hot, I'm sure they'll be fine. I worry a lot more about when it's cold, because I don't think she finds her way under the blankets.

I worry a lot more about when it's cold, because I don't think she finds her way under the blankets. I went in to close their door at 4am so my alarm didn't wake them at 5:50 and DD was still wrapped in her blanket (I left their door open so they got fresh air all night). She must have been exhausted to essentially not move from bedtime. I opened some windows and the house cooled down to 74 overnight so nighttime isn't a problem. I'm more concerned about what it's going to be like tonight after warming up all day. I do have the furnace fan running to keep air circulating and all blinds and curtains closed to keep out the sun. Luckily I was able to get an appointment for 11am tomorrow. FX for an easy fix and AC this weekend!

I googled and it's pretty impossible that my salad was tainted. So I feel better now. I may toss the apples though. I ate peanut butter toast and if all is good from that then I guess it was my body being an asshole. If it were something else I'm sure symptoms would continue along with a fever or something. No more indulgent lateish dinners though. Good God.

I did my good deed for the day. I was at a garage sale over lunch and a lady with a 14 month old was going to buy a forward facing only carseat. All I said was "That's a forward facing car seat only." Thank goodness she knew she needed to keep her child rear facing and didn't take offense to my comment. I just couldn't keep my mouth shut.
Then another gentleman bought the car seat while I was there so I helped make sure it was installed correctly. He was clearly the grandparent and had no idea how to install a seat.
