The landscapers just finished up, and rang the bell to let me know they were leaving. The kids let out the biggest "oooooohhhh" when they saw all of the equipment. They let them play on the tractor and with some of the less dangerous tools for the next 15 minutes. I guess I should look for a local touch a truck in this area because they just loved it

klong11 How often do you get the shots? Right now they are weekly, then after I reach a certain dosage point they will bump up to monthly, not sure after that if it changes to like every other month or every 6 months or something.

Taking M for his consultation for his soft tooth in an hour. J did not handle going to the sitters by himself as well as M did last week.. He was very upset. I have boat loads of work to do.. Hoping M lets me work later.

Just curious in case we end up having to do this with H. They said that while it is weekly, I could technically come in after 48 hours has passed if I want to get through these smaller doses faster. I'm on a no with that, though.

Hi all. Busy week for me.. hope everyone had decent mothers days. I got pretty upset with mh bc he vetoed a house that meets all of our wants and needs and most of our wants and is in our price range. He said meh, the road noise and the backyard aren't nice enough. I'm about to throttle him - we can't afford inside the hood, we have to compromise. So I was a grouch. He mildly redeemed himself by taking a decent pic of me with the kids and I made brownies sundaes.
We are watching Wild Wild Country on Netflix, about the Rajneeshi compound. I had never heard of this cult before! It's fascinating, def recommend. It is hard to believe this happened in Oregon.

I just called the contractor about the carpet install Saturday...I ripped her ass. I don't know if anyone will call me back, but I told them I wanted to know why only one crew was sent instead of the two, I was assured all week, would be there Saturday.
I also left a voice mail for the guy over the flooring department at our local home depot, requesting a sit down meeting with him, to review our list of complaints.

I'm sorry you have to burn your car, mwhip. Sorry your DH hasn't apologized, tgrimes. Why do men take out their grumpiness on everyone around them? I know I shouldn't generalize, but it can be so damn hard not to... Hoping little P is doing better today, cagoldi.

I'm sorry your DH is being so weird about the house hunt, tallb. Perfect houses just don't exist, at least not when you have a budget. He needs to wake up!

My kid just wrecked my Grand Canyon water bottle that I brought home from our honeymoon. After telling him for times that it was not for playing and that mommy loved that bottle. It was a two dollar water bottle, but I loved having it with and being instantly brought back there.

I'm going out of town this weekend so taking a break from looking. He's the picky one, so he can find something. He also has some changes at work and is nervous to commit to anything since he's not happy, but no end in sight of when that'll be better. I know comparison is the thief of joy but a lot of our friends are now out of their starter homes and onto legit nice homes..I'd like to invite people over and not be embarrassed by our apartment (This is all on me, but it's what's going on).

I’m sorry tallb. That must be hard. Doesn’t sound like Yh wants to compromise. He’s shot down a few homes you liked and found acceptable, right?

Morning! I had a kind of hectic start of my work day. I’m filling in at a different place that I haven’t been to for a year. It always takes so much time to get my log ins together and start the day on the first day. Doesn’t help that I thought I told them i could be here at 830, but I actually told them 8. My first patient was here and ready and I was just fumbling around trying to figure stuff out. 🤦🏽♀️
This place is so much more relaxed than my other job and I’ll be able to leave early everyday I’m here, so I’m looking forward to the extra time to get stuff done in the afternoons.

We have so many little (and expensive ) things to do to make this house our own, but we recognize that it was going to be on a 5 or 10 year plan because it's our forever home. As is, it checked all of our boxes so we couldn't say no to it. Maybe he'll reconsider ?

Hi all.
Reading a really entertaining book right now, Crazy Rich Asians. I'm having a hard time putting it down but I need to--you know--keep the toddler alive and accomplish some things around the house.
Lots of 'housekeeping' to do today...making appointments, booking the dog at the kennel for next week, etc. B was so happy to be back at school today after missing on Friday, really reaffirms my decision to go to 5 mornings/week in the fall. C and I are about to head out to get my sister a birthday gift and get that mailed before pick-up.
Also, apparently it was the *alternator* in my car causing the issues, b/c it died again yesterday. So we dropped it off this morning to have a new one put in. Naturally they have to order the part but we should be able to pick it up tomorrow.

Yeah he thinks we can get it all in the "top" rated schools. He's high. We can only afford the very cheapest houses that come on the market in this area and there is always multiple things wrong with them and stiff competition..I think we should broaden to go to the town over that is full of people where we would fit in (basically every other driveway has one of our cars), but he's nervous that the high schools have a choice system and not as good as the ones that rate top 10 nationally in our current town. Sorry to vent, this is just such a chore and am jealous of couples that seem to both be on board.

Sorry tallb , that is super frustrating. As someone else said, there is no perfect house, so i hope he will come around to your way of thinking. I sympathize/empathize with your desire to feel more established. My sister and I have said the same thing; they've rented the last 4 years during residency and driven their cars from high-school while all their friends were buying homes, new cars, etc. And we sold our beautiful, updated house to move to a not-as-nice (for more money!) rental here. We hate feeling like we're getting left behind. I know that it's temporary--and my sister and BIL closed on their new house this morning, ha--but it's hard sometimes. eta: re: the high school situation, do y'all see this house being what takes you thru the high school years for your kids? I guess if it meant getting in a home with more space, being able to build equity, etc., is it not worth buying something in an area with good elementary schools and then re-evalutating as your kids get older, ostensibly incomes have gone up/no more daycare, etc?

That sounds frustrating tallb. I would be very surprised if anyone ever found a house that ticked EVERY single box (well, unless you have unlimited funds). We’re also a little “hmmm” on the HS here but our ES and MS are rated very high. So we thought we could reevaluate at another point in time if we would send them to the public one or look into private. Also, a lot could change in the 9 years before B even goes to HS!

flamingo, I have that book on my list to read. Glad to hear you’re enjoying it! Yes, a friend of a friend mentioned it to me back in September and I was in the mood for something light so I finally picked it up on Saturday. They’re making a movie—I think it’s due out this summer or fall?—so I wanted to read the book first.
