Just checking in to sing the praises of the Cosrx Pimple Patch. I haven’t had to use them in almost a year and had forgotten how well they help bring down the redness and swelling. No giant holiday pimple over here!

No giant holiday pimple over here! I just used one last week! Since switching to AB skincare, I haven’t had a big cystic pimple in years, but for some reason, last week I got one right on my chin. Once it finally ruptured after a ton of BHA and AHA, the pimple patch was like magic to get the swelling and redness down. Love those things.

Idk guys. Idk if I can put slime on my face. We had slugs get in our house and I nearly cried while standing on the sofa screaming for my husband.

I’m so sad- the History of Whoo Bichup Ja Saeng Essence I have been using for a long time finally ran out 😭😭. I got an amazing duty free deal on it, but no way am I going to pay for it again. Sigh. I have some Advanced Night Repair that I need to use up, but I’ll miss you History of Whoo ☹️😢

Radley, I would switch to CeraVe instead of cetaphil. The Ph for cetaphil is still a bit high. Switching to a low ph cleanser really helped my acne. It may be worth a try. Oh good to know!! I’ll add it to my list. I seriously know nothing about skin care.

Merry Christmas to those who celebrate in the AB thread! I’m in Hokkaido for our annual ski trip, and omg it’s so dry and cold here. I normally just use 1/2 pump of the cosrx 96 snail, but now I’m using like 2 pumps and so many creams/emulsions that are normally too heavy for me. I picked up some lavender premium Lululun sheet masks (special because you can only get them in Hokkaido), and I tried out a sample of the Sulwhasoo Radiance Energy Mask. It’s a sleeping pack that is actually really cool. It kind of gave my face this warm, buzzy feeling, which lasted for about 10-15 min after I put it on. As is all things with Sulwhasoo, it’s pricey - but if you can find a sample, highly recommend trying it! Fifty Shades of Snail liked it too: www.google.com/amp/s/fiftyshadesofsnail.com/2016/12/27/sulwhasoo-radiance-energy-mask/amp/

Taitai my skin doesn’t normally love sulwhasoo, but their hydrating facial mist is a life saver when I travel. It’s my go-to for hydrating on planes and in dry climates.

I need to crowd source some ideas. DD1 is a competitive swimmer and she’s really having trouble with dryness and flaking around her eyes. She follows a solid 4 step routine morning and night (hydrating toner, serum, hydrating eye cream and cosrx Snail 92), but she needs something extra right now. I’m going to try a peeling pad and eye patches this weekend to try and resurface her skin, but I don’t think that will solve her problem long term.
Anyone have a super moisturizing eye cream rec? Other ideas? She’s almost 17, but she doesn’t have much trouble with acne and her skin is fairly balanced as long as she maintains a routine.

beesquared I love the Sulwhasoo facial mist too. I had a mini one for travel, and I used it up in like a month! Whoops. In terms of your DD - I’m so sorry about the peeling around the eyes! I use the Innisfree Orchid eye cream to moisturize around my eye area, and I like it a lot. It is heavier than the cosrx 92 snail, but it doesn’t clog my pores or give me milia. It also doesn’t have a scent, which I appreciate, since my eyes tend to be pretty sensitive and water very easily when I put anything near them. The price (about $16-$17) is also really reasonable for so much product. www.amazon.com/Innisfree-Orchid-Cream-Package-randomly/dp/B00ZBFVQX4

Taitai, well that just led to a nice order from the innisfree site. They some really good rewards and free gifts right now. I also got a jumbo size bottle of the intensive hydrating serum for myself at a steal of a price for the quantity.

I might have to check out the website and see if there are still any good promos happening. 🤔

The best Boots equivalent would be Shoppers Drug Mart and they’ve only just started to dip their toes into stocking AB products, so no Biore sunscreen.

I know Walmart has carried it online in the past, but I just checked and it says they are out of stock. Maybe Walmart Canada has it though? I always wonder if my cookies give different stock readings, based on the country where I am. www.walmart.com/ip/Biore-UV-Aqua-Rich-Watery-Essence-SPF50-PA-50g/677388341

checked there and they only carry the pore strips and face cleanser. It’s annoying it’s so hard to find here I wonder if it’s due to regulations about sunscreen. I haven’t seen Biore UV rich in a store in the USA either...maybe because the FDA hasn’t approved it as a sunscreen? I might be not up to speed on that, but I seem to remember there was a regulatory issue with the Biore, which made it harder to sell/import even in the states. I just think it’s ridiculous that the other similar, cosmetically elegant chemical sunscreens in the USA (like SuperGoop and Drunk Elephant) are so freaking expensive. While the Biore, which is really nice and effective, is hard to get in a physical store (or at least was the last time I checked). Grrrrr.

I finally decided on the Mizon Black Snail All in One Cream, it will be here tomorrow. Just in time for me to run out of my hydro boost. I’m nervous because I thought the hydro post was a holy grail until I tried all this AB stuff.
My husband wants to know why my face is so expensive now 😂😂

Less need for intervention later down the road. Also - I hope you love the Mizon black snail AIO. I miss that stuff (but am very happy with my Cosrx 92 snail cream until I’m ready to switch it up again).

emma, two from that site that i see recommended a lot on reddit are the rohto skin aqua tone up UV essence and the hada labo perfect UV gel. i haven't tried either. i have tried the cosrx aloe soothing sun cream-- it is scented, and it has more of a western-style creamy texture. it does absorb well without a white cast but it's not watery like the biore. you could try the biore watery gel rather than the essence. i would assume the only difference would be texture?

emma, if you're just worried about fakes on amazon, i recently purchased the 85g biore aqua rich through the seller eitas japan and had no issues (also it came via prime). if you have a japanese grocery store in your area they are likely to carry it. also you likely already know this tip, but just in case... make sure you cut your old tube in half when it seems empty- you can scrape out a lot more product from the inside.

emma, I have used many bottles of the biore watery gel. I really like it. It has some alcohol to help it dry down fast, but it leaves a dewy finish. My favorite is actually the perfect bright milk, but I don’t see it on that site. I’m prone to breakouts, but my skin hasn’t reacted to either.

Putting them right next to each other, the consistency is very similar. The essence is maybe slightly thinner, but the gel sort of separated a little into a gel with a watery substance around it. Right out of the bottle the gel is tinted a tiny bit yellow compared to an off white for the essence. Scent wise the gel has a really really faint alcohol smell when you put it on but it dissipates very quickly whereas the essence smells more like a subtle perfume to me. My skin is incredibly sensitive, especially to alcohol, right now and neither formulation bothered me. Neither has any white cast nor do they cause any pilling or issues under makeup. They both dry really quickly.

I haven’t been here in a while, mainly because I’ve been happy with my routine and haven’t really switched anything up.
However, I did try something new with my routine the last few nights, and I wanted to share with you all.
Normally, I sheet mask after serums and before creams. However, the past 3 nights, I’ve done my sheet mask after the Cosrx snail 92 AIO cream, which is typically my last step for the night. Then, after I take the sheet mask off, I pat in the essence and do another Cosrx snail 92 later before I fall asleep.
My skin has been markedly softer and plumper in the morning. I think I’m going to keep trying to “sandwich” my sheet mask with the cosrx 92 before and after. See if it keeps up these results! Maybe the sheet mask is really sealing in/helping my skin absorb the first layer of Cosrx 92 snail that I put on? Whatever is happening, I like it.
