So 6 months after talking about it, I finally got the T'iam vitamin C serum and I love it. My skin felt so smooth! I did freak out a little because the serum was orange and I thought that it had oxidized but I got the red version which is supposed to be orange (well at least that is what my friend Google says). So do I leave it on for 20 minutes before adding the next step? Thought I read on here that you should leave actives on for 20 minutes right? ETA: Sweetjane, I did use micellar water at first when I started the AB routine (mainly because I had it and didn't want to spend money on an oil cleanser) and I prefer the oil cleansing method. It gets my skin cleaner than with just micellar water. I definitely hear you on finding it hard to wash my face at night, though. :: whispers:: What's an AB routine? AB is just an abbreviation for Asian Beauty. 😉

I tried the Bliss jelly glow peel a couple weeks ago and love it. Unique product and it definitely helps get the yucky stuff out of the pores on my nose.
Also loving the Sweet Chef Kale and Vitamin B sheet mask lately.

I don't really belong in this thread but does anyone have a recommendation for a product for my Korean mom for Mother's Day? Something I can order online to be delivered relatively soon? Under $40 maybe $50?

ss265, thanks for the recommendations! Not really anything in particular, I was initially looking for toner/lotion sets since I know she will always need those. She gets a lot of American/European products from my sister but I wondered if there was something different that she wouldn't have tried before. The snail essence looks interesting!

There are eye steam masks or something that Taitai recommends but I don’t know their name off the top of my head. Ooh I like this, thank you. The Japanese steam masks are AWESOME, and I bet your mom would love them. Everyone I have introduced them to gets addicted - they’re great for helping me fall asleep. They come in different scents too - lavender is my fav. Another idea is to get her one of the Innisfree Green Tea skincare sets. The ingredients are from Jeju, which your mom might appreciate. It’s $30 and comes with balancer (hydrating toner), moisturizer, and a cream. I purchased below set for DH, and he liked it a lot: www.amazon.com/Innisfree-Green-Balancing-Normal-Combination/dp/B00P5TVJ0G

piratecat i definitely wouldn't worry about anything purchased direct from amazon. if it's through a 3rd-party seller, just look at the list of sellers and pick one with a high satisfaction percentage and a lot of sales. i have made quite a few skin care purchases through 3rd-party sellers recently and have not had any issues.

I think an Innisfree gift set would be harder to fake with all the packaging too.

I’m totally devoted to their pressed powder compacts.

Thanks guys! I got her the snail essence and the eye masks and she seemed pleased. I’ve got a bunch of other ideas for later so that’s really helpful because she is hard to shop for/please.

I've been doing an AB routine for about a year now. I've noticed a huge improvement in the glowiness of my skin, and it's much more even toned and smooth than it has ever been. I'm still having issues with breakouts though, primarily on my jawline which makes me think it's hormonal. I've tried various bhas and ahas, nothing seems to be taking care of it.
Any recommendations? I thought about trying curology, or making a derm appt. I'm still bf'ing though (a 2yo so that could end at any time), and I have no interest in accutane or anything that extreme. It's not awful but it's so frustrating. I am very happy with my face from my nose up but my chin and jawline is a mess.

milano That definitely sounds hormonal. I think that given all you have tried, the next step would be to see a dermatologist. I also have heard good things about curology, and perhaps the dermatologist would have an idea on what type of prescription would work best for you. My sister battles with hormonal acne, and I used to as well. My jawline was also where the problem struck. I have endometriosis and PCOS, which I think made it worse. For me, doing an AB routine alone has gotten it under control, but my sister still has some problems. It sucks so much - sorry you have to deal with it. Hugs.

Taitai I'm scraping the bottom of both the environmental shield night cream and the serum. I love them both! The serum gives super fast results and my face always feels great in the morning after using the night cream.

Interestingly, she just completed accutane, but in a recent post she said that if she had to do it over again, now knowing the side effects, she would have opted not to do it. www.fanserviced-b.com/vanitys-bonfire-thoughts-on-accutane-post-treatment/

I've heard so many scary things about possible accutane side effects! My breakouts really aren't that bad, def not bad enough to risk trying it. I'm just vain and want perfectly clear skin.

I learned over the weekend that an Innisfree shop is opening at a mall near me this summer.
What are some products that I might look at? Current routine is a mix of AB and non-AB products for dry/normal, not particularly sensitive, breastfeeding with a focus on anti-aging.
AM- water cleanse, hydrating toner (Klairs or Hada Labo), Vit c serum, moisturizer and sunscreen (Nivea sun gel). PM- Clinique cleansing balm, Cerave cleanser, hydrating toner, Cosrx Snail (not sure this is doing anything), and moisturizer.

It’s so much more expensive in my country than it is in Korea...I always end up ordering online from the U.S. site or Amazon and having the stuff shipped to my parents. I currently use the Innisfree orchid eye cream, and I really like it. No milia, and I think it’s done a good job keeping my eye area less puffy and more smooth. I also like the Innisfree green tea seed serum, as well as the green tea seed balancing lotion. Finally, Innisfree makes fun sheet masks in various “flavors.” They’re not my favorite sheet masks, as I prefer the thin cotton Taiwanese ones, but if you can get them on sale, the Innisfree ones do a good enough job of hydrating. I’ve tried the “real squeeze” masks, which are the cheapest ones, and I remember liking the Aloe, Rice, Oatmeal, and Bamboo ones.

gldnbearz I forgot about the jeju volcanic clay mask from Innisfree. That is super popular out here and one of the items they are known for. Thanks for the reminder @karenwalker !

Taitai, @karenwalker, thanks for the recommendations. Adding the blueberry cleaner to my list. I have a (giant) bottle of LA Roche Posay cleanser to use next, so after that. The green tea seed serum looks interesting. I need another moisturizer like I need a hole in my head! I have a bunch to work through for the rest of the year. 😁 Sadly I can't convince my husband to use any of them.

It can tingle a bit at first, so if it does that, start slow. My skin got used to it within a few weeks, and I love how soft and even my skin is now after regularly using L-AA. 👍
