milano I can usually tell within 3 days, especially if they aren't my normal breakouts. Those sound like the breakouts I get from a lot of primers. I have found with products like that I can avoid breakouts if I don't use it every day. Although with a foundation, I would return if possible.

Merry Christmas and happy holidays my fellow skincare friends! My H got me a Glow Recipe gift bag with the moisturizer, watermelon sleeping pack and masks! I’m so excited! I love this and am so jealous! I have heard good things about the glow recipe watermelon sleeping mask 👍 We are in Japan, so I picked up some Local, Hokkaido hand cream and sheet masks. Will try them out and report back! Merry Christmas my fellow AB enthusiasts!

After my christmas gifts and facetory subscription this month, i'm up to 26 face masks 😆 Amazing! Talk about sheet mask dreams! I did not get the Naruko Snail or Freeset Donkey Milk sheet masks I put on my Christmas list. I guess my family thought they were lame? Oh well. My birthday is in two weeks so I have a plan 😉

I tried the Biore sunscreen recommended here, and I cannot get over how different it feels from the sunscreens I’m used to!

I tried the Biore sunscreen recommended here, and I cannot get over how different it feels from the sunscreens I’m used to! The Japanese sunscreens use different chemicals/formulations than US ones, so they’re a lot more cosmetically elegant. I love them! Glad you’re enjoying the Biore!

I picked up some Lululun masks while I was in Japan last week, and I’m liking them! Lululun is kind of interesting - it’s the most popular sheet mask brand in Japan, and they don’t come in individual packs. Instead, the sheet masks are all packaged together in sets of 7 or 32 per pouch. The idea is that you use the sheet masks daily, so once you open the pouch, it shouldn’t have to sit around for a long time. Less packaging per mask is good for the environment too. The ones I got were the melon premium Hokkaido version, which you can only buy in Japan. But - they sell the standard ones (pink, blue, red, and white) on Amazon. I got mine for about $0.60/mask, which is a good deal. But even on amazon, they’re less than a dollar per mask. The mask is made of microfiber, and it stays put really well on my face. It’s nice and soft too. I have to rip the eye holes to make them larger, and I rip the nose part so it doesn’t tent on me, but other than that - it fits well! I think I’ll be buying more of this brand the next time I’m at Watson’s or in Japan. They’re cheap and good for daily masking. I am on day 3 and no breakouts or ill effects either 👍 Oh, and the essence doesn’t drip and run down my neck, which is another plus. www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0743F9SRC/ref=mp_s_a_1_2_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1546263129&sr=8-2&keywords=lululun+mask&dpPl=1&dpID=41HSXwDs4XL&ref=plSrch

I have a question - I know with actives (I use Vit C), you’re supposed to leave it on 20 min before applying anything else. Do you wait between any other products or just apply one on top of the other? All the products I ordered are starting to roll in and I’m eyeing them thinking, if I have to wait X minutes in between each product I’ll never get to work or bed...

I just got a couple of new items and thought I would share!
Mizon snail repairing foam cleanser- I really like it so far! It goes on thick, like marshmallow fluff, and really got my skin clean. I'm hoping it helps to repair my skin, it has been a mess with stress and hormones!
Manyo Factory-galactomyces niacin special treatment essence I love the sample I got and excited to get this back in my regime I really think my skin missed it!
Manyo factory-galactomy clear skin toner I've been using my free sample for the past month + and really like it, I'm happy with the spray bottle for application as well. It's an aha/bha exfoliate and I find I'm using it most nights with no issue.
I've also been using Burt's bees overnight lip mask because I'm super sensitive to smells and it's ok not great but the smell is minimal ( I read some of the ab ones have really strong smells!)
Next on my list is an overnight mask and I'm thinking I might swap out a moisturizer but I'm happy enough with the ones I use now even though the are not ab.

I do follow wait times (10-20 min each) for actives (vit C, BHA/AHA) but I don’t wait for other stuff. I just pat until the product is absorbed (like 30-60 seconds max), and then I move on to the next thing. Sheet masks sometimes take extra time for patting the essence in, once I remove the mask, but no more than a minute or two.

I like using baby aquaphor (repairing ointment) for an overnight lip mask. No scent, so cheap - does the trick for me! I also like the basic, non-scented Kiehl’s #1 lip balm - I put on a generous amount each night, and 1 tube lasts me like a year. For sleeping packs - I feel like the laneige water sleeping mask is not very scented...or if it is, the scent subsides very quickly.

I opened my new bottle of Klairs Supple preparation toner. It is the unscented one, as I couldn't find the original one on Amazon at a reasonable price. I find myself missing the herbal scent of the original.

So I am seeing some great results in my skin texture, moisture, and softness but still having issues with redness and jawline/chin pimples. I know most of this is hormonal so not much can be done, but maybe there is something I'm missing? If anyone could maybe troubleshoot with me I would appreciate it! Also are the pimple patches useful for the underground pimples? They never surface just are painful bumps for a few days/week then go away then resurface. Thanks!
Current routine: Mizon snail repairing foam cleanser Manyo factory clearskin toner(3 times a week) Manyo factory special treatment essence niacin Mizon snail repair intensive ampoule Manyo factory white vita-c serum Eye cream Moisturizer

BHA can dig down deep and purge clogs from your skin. There can be a purging period, where your skin actually looks worse because it is getting rid of the gunk. However - it should subside. If it doesn’t (which can happen with hormonal acne), the only real permanent solution is accutane - which you absolutely cannot be pregnant, TTC, or breastfeeding while undergoing treatment. AHA doesn’t do as much “gunk clearing,” but it can still be helpful for acne and preventing future clogs. If you go the BHA or AHA route - just know that you don’t have to use it all over your face. It can be drying, so you can spot treat in problem areas to minimize over-exfoliation or over-dryness in other areas.

Yes I'm using it already in the toner it's BHA/AHA and it did break me out in places I usually never get pimples(forehead, nose and cheeks) so I cut back to a few times a week instead of daily. Should I start up again with daily use? I can't do anything else cause I am breastfeeding.

If it broke you out, it could be purging....or...it could be that your skin didn’t like that formulation. Could you get like a BHA spot treatment, and try that on the breakouts to see if it helps? The cosrx pimple patches really only help reduce a pimple once it is open. I don’t think they do a whole lot to things that don’t actually “rupture” (for lack of a better word). I know Clean and Clear makes a good salicylic acid BHA spot treatment get that can zip zits pretty well. Below is link: www.amazon.com/Clean-Clear-Advantage-Treatment-Medication/dp/B00027DDOQ

I just opened and tried the Cosrx propolis light ampoule. I’ve heard good things, so I’m really excited to see if there is a noticeable difference adding this product to my routine. I also realized as I was putting it on, that I’m allergic to bees....paused....and then kept patting it in.

Jackaroe, I use the Cosrx PHA cream. It’s a more gentle version of an AHA. I use it on my trouble areas (chin and hormonal acne) nightly. Things did get worse, before they got better and I do still get some acne monthly... but it’s the best product I have tried so far. Hormonal acne sucks so much. It really does! I'm hoping whenever dd weans that my skin will stop freaking out so much.

Omg. I can’t stop laughing Taitai. I hope it’s amazing for you with no ill effects. I’d contribute to a favorite thread. Mine will mostly be limited to sheet masks as I just started getting into the other skincare elements the last couple months and feel I don’t have enough experience to contribute there yet.
