Now that Bornstein has that weight off his shoulders, he can focus more on cosplaying his made-up character, The Big DocBrownski. I'd say he's more Brent Spiner in Independence Day... Wow huge gif was huge. Better?

CNN did a story on Asylum and how they can apply. How the Hell is anyone looking for asylum supposed to get in legally and then apply for asylum. So As I understand this you need to get a visa (i.e. work, student, vacation) THEN apply for asylum? You can't apply from your origin country or when you get to the border? This makes it sound like you can apply only if your life isn't in mortal danger and you can wait a year for a visa and you can come here on calm circumstances to apply for asylum. Asylum is just that. ASYLUM! From fear for your life. And normally that doesn't wait a year for you to safely escape. WTF! I think you're misreading this. Original story is here. It's pretty clear: you CAN apply for asylum status if you're in the country illegally. You can't apply for asylum status in advance. You must be at or within the borders. If you're applying in advance, you're applying for refugee status. This is in accordance with UN rules surrounding asylum seekers: Convention & Protocols Relating to the Status of Refugees, article 31 The bigger issue is that we currently are blocking people from claiming asylum at the border, saying we are "at capacity." We can send the National Guard to present a show of force at the border, but we can't apparently get extra people to help process applications. This is in contravention of our own laws regarding asylum seekers. They are skirting this law using "we'll get to it...eventually" as an excuse. Thanks for clarification. I was really concerned what was going on but I guess I was confusing myself between refugee and asylum.

Russia news pushing that major news sources here in the US are saying the younger generation aren't voting for the Democrats. They are saying a major shift is coming.
I don't necessarily think they are voting Republican. Sounds like propaganda to me.
ETA: They are claiming its because Dems are to politically correct and trying to stay that way. :eyeroll:

Wut People have been pretty scathing, pointing out the fact that Amazon has cut back on worker retirement investments, has a substantial number of workers paid so poorly they qualify for SNAP, miserable working conditions in their warehouses, etc. And then talking about a bajillion other humanitarian crises that could be resolved with some "Amazon winnings" infusions. Someone pointed out the Flint water crisis could be resolved with about 6 minutes worth of Amazon profits. It's something. Is Elon Musk his mentor? My gosh.

Useful in swaying people who want to believe this. Doesn't really change anything in reality. Also useful if they plan to interfere with our elections.

Trump is jumping in with both feet this morning and making it clear he plans on firing people "at some point".
A Rigged System - They don’t want to turn over Documents to Congress. What are they afraid of? Why so much redacting? Why such unequal “justice?” At some point I will have no choice but to use the powers granted to the Presidency and get involved!

Kanye's going to be on with Alex Jones today. So I’m thinking Mama Kris is going to be putting some distance between Kanye and the Kardashians soon. Alex Jones...what the fuck, Kanye.

Of course slavery was a choice...you’re a slave or they kill you. Those are the 2 choices.

Not political, but curious your thoughts on this: www-m.cnn.com/2018/05/01/health/high-school-modesty-ponchos-trnd/index.htmlThis is a Catholic high school. They said they had “modesty ponchos” but now say they’ll just have shawls available for girls whose dresses don’t meet dress code (too short, too low cut). Kids are talking about boycotting prom as a result of the “mysoginistic policy”. I went to an all-girls Catholic high school and we most definitely had a dress code for all dances, including prom. And there were no school supplies shawls available- if you showed up in a dress too short or too low cut you just weren’t allowed in.

BUT at some point you have to learn that you are going to have to follow a dress code in most places of employment. They can certainly set the rules and as long as they aren't arbitrary like a supermodel can wear a 3 inch skirt and tube top but a plain jane who might not be a size zero can't, or boys can wear tank tops but girls can't , I don't' really have a problem. Its not a club and you can not go. Just like you dont have to work for an employer whose rule you dont agree with either.

Its not a club and you can not go. Just like you dont have to work for an employer whose rule you dont agree with either. I’m honestly trying to recall our prom dress code now. I know for school the rule was that your skirt had to be zipped/buttoned and first it was that it couldn’t be shorter than your fingertips when your arms were at your sides and that changed even while I was there to no shorter than a post it above the knee cap. The rules on tops were only about making sure you had your uniform top on. The hardest part of the dress code for them to enforce (and source of the greatest number of demerits) was girls still wearing sweats/pajama pants under their skirts after the school day started.
