We are going to a comic con Saturday/Sunday and we'll be seeing the movie late Saturday night, I'm reaaally hoping to avoid spoilers as much as possible, because I want to go into it with complete ignorance lol. I think the Cap or Tony are going to die at the end as a catalyst for the second movie. Any other theories out there? (refuse to listen to the idea that Hawkeye will die...I'm not ready for that). I agree that Cap or Tony with probably die, sad as that is. There would be real emotional stakes for that, plus RDJ's and Chris Evans's contracts are up after either this one or the next one.
I do think Loki probably dies, which I'm trying to process emotionally. If you take the mid-credit scene from Ragnarok, together with the fact that Thanos's henchpeople seem to be stepping over dead Asgardians in the trailer, the fact that Loki seems to be handing the Tesseract to Thanos in the trailer, and the fact that you only see Loki in that one scene in the trailer, then yeah. He dead. Which just sucks right after he and Thor came together at the end of Ragnarok. I hope it at least happens in a redemptive way, and not in a "surprise Loki betrayed everyone again!" way.
Whew, that was a geeky paragraph. I sprouted a fedora and neckbeard just from typing that.

I haven’t seen Dr Strange. I started it and fell asleep. I’m trying to decide if I should watch it before Saturday. I kind of feel like Thor Ragnarok gave me an intro to that character. Dr. Strange was actually one of my favorites in recent years!

Ragnarok was just so so funny, but also badass in a ridiculous way. I liked the Shakespearean drama of the first Thor and the Loki stuff in the second, but I love that in Ragnarok, they really embraced that the whole gods in space thing is, you know, kind of silly, but without mocking it. Okay I need to see Ragnorak, I don't think I've seen that one yet. H has seen it, but he is willing to watch all Marvel movies 294056 times, so it will not be a fight, lol.

vandelay, I will be v. v. sad if/when Loki dies, he's one of my favourites. Tom Hiddleston does such a superb job as him. lolacachia, I believe both Falcon and Bucky become Captain at different points in the comic books.

I agree with your 2nd paragraph. I just don't see Loki making it out of this mess. There's also Vision who was made from an Infinity Stone but I don't have much emotional attachment to him.

I could watch it 100 times. Not just Thor and Loki either -- Tessa Thompson is awesome as new character Valkyrie, the Hulk parts are hilarious, and Jeff Goldblum is a fucking scream as the Grandmaster.

I tried watching it several times and couldn’t pay enough attention to it. Same thing with Civil War. I need my kids to leave me alone so I can concentrate. Lol

I just need more Shurri. And Loki. I got Vandy's signal on the Geek board, but we aren't going until the second weekend because H has a gaming con he helps organize this weekend and the kids and I are going out of town with my mom.

I think I might need to watch it when I get home from work.

Maybe both Tony and Steve will die. Who will step in as the new leader then, I wonder.

My one complaint with Ragnarok is the lack of female characters. Sure Valkyrie is epic, but other than Hela and her, there are no more women. Jane is gone due to break up and Darcy with her, which made me sad, because I love Darcy Lewis. She's my favorite non-superhero side character of the universe. And where the hell was Sif?

It is relevant that my boss was just saying this morning that she was meh on Dr. Strange because she doesn't like Benedict Cumberbatch. "There is something off about his face."

And we'll still have T'challa and Dr. Strange to ogle.

Cannot wait for Infinity War. I'm trying to resign myself to the possibility (fact?) Cap is going to die. Not only is his contract up but I get the impression (or maybe read it somewhere) that Chris Evans is kind of done with it. It pains me, because he's great, but I can't blame the guy for wanting to move on.
We haven't seen Dr. Strange either - I would have thought it would be on HBO or one of the movie channels by now, but nope. Not sure we'll be able to catch it before we see IW, so I'm glad he was in Ragnarok.
I try to keep my expectations for movies like these in check, but after Ragnarok and BP, I'm expecting a lot from it.

I am overly attached though so I'm worried I'm going to sob in the theater.
