I am so out of the loop! Being. SAHM these last few weeks has taken all my attention! I miss work and quiet time. I love my kids but I realize I need a little more than just being a mom.

I’m tired and only on day 2 of working 4 days in a row. Rough part is tonight I’m working evenings 3-11p then I’m back Saturday at 7am. Ugh! I’ll be lucky if I get much sleep. N is off and on with his sleep this week bc of teething- one more broke through yesterday! That’s three teeth! bsouls jt2378 I love this age and seeing them develop. Watching N go from looking like a fish flopping out of water to full on crawling has been so fun, it’s so cool to see their little brains working so hard to figure stuff out.

addymac I have a 31 backpack that my ex-SIL got me, haha. But it holds more than most of the other bags I’ve looked at. And I don’t get as annoyed by it when babywearing. I would pick a backpack again.

DD is trying to be big and figure out walking and I’m not ready! We’ve had quite a few tumbles bc she tries to move herself between furniture, or on anything she can stand up against. She’s going to be a daredevil. Yesterday she tried to stand up on the toddler trampoline and jump like her brother.
DS was delayed at literally every milestone, so DD doing them generally early is blowing my mind.

addymac, we have the top 2 teeth poking through so up to 4! Ahhhh I hope work isn’t too exhausting. pennylane, wow just no to already walking! Babies really are so different. M seems more of a daredevil too than my first.

What diaper bags do you guys have? We have the skip hop duo bag but it’s not big enough and it drives me crazy. I can barely squeeze in the medals milk container thing, it’s such a narrow bag. as he is getting bigger and I want to go out for the day I need to add in enough milk plus lunch food and snacks and toys and the bag doesn’t hold it all well. We’re looking for bigger bags. I was hoping for a backpack but dh was thinking of a tote like bag as long as it has a shoulder strap. Any suggestions? Not looking to spend more than $200, ideally under $100 but would be ok with $150ish if it was just perfect. We have this for the twins and we love love love it. Tons of compartments and big enough for all 3 kids for short trips. The stroller straps are also great so it doesn't take up basket space.

A has been pulling himself up on anything he can. He hasn’t quite realized that if he lets go, he’ll fall. I’m not ready for walking! I can barely keep up with his shenanigans with him crawling all over the place.
Still no teeth yet either. I can feel one trying to cut, but it’s been like that for days now.
Oh and strangely enough, he figured out crawling and sitting up literally the same day. At about 7.5 months. It was about 2 weeks ago that I was sitting on the couch and he was playing on the floor. All of a sudden he was standing in front of me, while holding onto the couch. I didn’t even see him pull himself up. 😂

addymac, I have a lily jade but it might be more $ than you’d like to spend. I like it a lot, but it can get clunky. They have tons of different styles, and most can be turned into a messager bag or bag pack.

Thanks ladies! Some good options to look through. @easilyunamused- yeah I do like those bags but they’re too girly for dh. Part of the issue we are having is finding one he likes enough to take out 🙄 I swear he’s pickier than I am about the bags appearance lol. While I can understand him not wanting to carry a purse looking one around, I’m also like o__O about it. I just want a damn bag

However, he apparently doesn't care as he grabs mine as much as he grabs his.

On the subject of diaper bags, if you are only going to the store or going to be out for an hour do you take your bag? I usually throw a bottle and binky in my purse and just go if we will be back in an hour or so but DH usually takes the bag.

I transfer my wallet from my work bag to the diaper bag to a purse if I’m going out without N (which is veryyy rare). So I always just grab the diaper bag

If we are just going to the grocery store or something similar time wise, then we only take the diaper bag if she hasn’t pooped yet.

I usually keep the diaper bag in the car for quick trips, I have put a diaper in my purse before too. But it’s a bit different for me, since I cloth diaper. Do not want to carry a dirty diaper around with me in my purse. Even bagged up. addymac, MH isn’t worried about our bag looking girly. It’s just a tan leather bag, I don’t think it’s too bad.

We are losing it tonight. J refused his 3rd nap and was up from 130 until he went to bed at 7. Since 7 he's been up at 8, 930, 11, 1145. He's not hungry and just wants to snuggle and sleep on me. In between 11 and 1145 we fell asleep in his chair and dh woke me up to come to bed. Now he has been up since. I'm exhausted

Nope hasn't gotten better. We were up from 1145 to 130 then he woke up at 245 and I held him for a half hour and now it's 4 and he's up again. I've had maybe 2 hours of sleep.

I'm so sorry king26. No sleep is the worst. He sounds like my ds1, and I just want to say that you are doing everything right--there's no magic ingredient you are missing. Some kids just struggle more with sleep. I always thought for ds1 that if I read one more book and tried one more thing, it would solve his sleep issues. I don't know if this is discouraging or discouraging, but at 3 years old he usually gets up once at the most and goes back to sleep quickly with a sippy cup. It does get better.

Sorry for the awful night king26! K is still in that leap, right? I remember a few weeks ago, A was sleeping terribly and one morning got up at 4am. Wouldn’t go back to sleep. Then all of a sudden he’s STTN. There’s no rhyme or reason to these babies! I hope there’s a break for you starting tonight.
