Age of LO(s): 2, 4
Month/Cycle: 11, 8
CD/DPO: CD 10, waiting to O, never O before CD 25 at earliest so long wait ahead
Timing: n/a, but I did decide to temp after all this cycle. I might take a break from OPKs? I need a break from something but I can't give up temping.
RRCS: wasn't sure I wanted to try this round but I have the u/s and blood work going and I just keep thinking about how damned happy I was when I had those positives.

Tlex I've been thinking about you and hoping you've been doing okay. Did you see an RE? Or is it your OB doing the ultrasound and blood work for you?

remi do you worry about the age gap? I do. At this rate, if I ever get pregnant, DD will be 7 before she has a sibling. I worry a lot about what that’s going to be like for all of us with no middle kid to bridge the gap. This is for sure a fear for me, and the longer it’s taking the more worried I get. When does your LO turn 6? August. Yours? There are still classmates of DD’s in K who have pregnant moms. So there’s a chance I won’t be a total alien but they all have toddlers too so still kind of an alien. I mean, I’m all for a built-in babysitter when DD is 13 and LO #2 is 6 but I find it hard to imagine what family vacations will look like with a 4th grader and 11th grader. I still hope to have the opportunity to find out though.

I have many friends/family that are pregnant with their 4th and our 1st kids are all the same age. I very much feel like an alien.

Tlex I've been thinking about you and hoping you've been doing okay. Did you see an RE? Or is it your OB doing the ultrasound and blood work for you? Aw thank you for thinking of me! It's just my GP sending me (GP's do women's health care here, you only see an OB when you're actually KU). I'm hoping for an RE referral to come out of the testing he does. So far I think it looks good for that, based on the wonky hormonal results that came back. The ultrasound is just kind of exploratory like let's see if there are any cysts currently, we know I've had them before. I'm feeling like I'm on a roller coaster of "do I want to keep going with this or try to make peace with our family as it is?" I'm trying to channel that obsessive energy into taking care of my body instead, so I've joined weight watchers and am hobbling through the beginnings of C25K. Can't hurt might help, right?

Well, really only 1 follicle measuring at 22. Another one at 13 but we’re triggering tonight so probably not enough time for it to get where it needs to be. I’m bummed but oh well. Curious what the protocol for next cycle will be since I didn’t really respond this time.
So, trigger tonight and IUI on Wednesday morning.

How many follicles do they "hope" to see? 22 is a good size right? Do they ideally want a second one at 18 ish or just over? Sorry it's not what you hoped for, but is there still maybe a shot with one follicle? Maybe? Sorry I am so uneducated about this. Hopefully they'll find a way to make you respond better for the next cycle:/

Tlex as per my weight rant a few weeks ago, this is what I'm doing too. I've decided to focus on getting back to "me" and losing the weight I gained after our loss. I'm resigned to the fact that this likely isn't going to happen for us so I'm trying to treat TTC more like a fun hobby at this point without putting any pressure on myself. In the meantime DD is a little slave driver. She still LOVES going for stroller walks so she has me pushing her in her stroller to all her classes every day after school, so we're looking at between 1.5 to 2 hours of fast walking every day. I'm hitting over 10 000 steps a day now and I'm down 4 lbs since my last rant. Hoping to keep it up and also hoping, like you, that it might have a positive effect on TTC. And if not, well then at least I'll get back to the person I was last summer:/ Only about 10 lbs to go (but my secret "if I don't get pregnant soon goal" is 20).

Hopefully they'll find a way to make you respond better for the next cycle:/ I'm a newbie to it all too Ideally we wanted to see 2 follicles 18 or over. I ovulate on my own with a 20mm follicle last cycle with no meds (this time I took Femara) so the hope was to have more than one to increase our chances. I'm still hopeful for this cycle, though. We're doing the IUI 36 hours after trigger which is ideal, last cycle it was 24 just because of scheduling but I ovulated at least 36 hours after trigger according to temps. They really want the sperm to be there right at O since washed sperm (what they use in the IUI) has a much shorter lifespan than regular sperm in semen. I honestly think that unless H had super sperm that lived forever that they were probably all gone by the time I O'd last cycle. Anyway, FX!

wildhoney Sorry this process is so sucky and that you're still stuck here. I have all the hope that you'll be out of here before July hits! I hear a lot of stories about people getting KU after the saline because it opens up the tubes more or something. I might be talking out of my ass here but I'm pretty sure that's a thing. I hope your next cycle is the lucky one and if not that they find a course of action for you going forward.

sammysam, down 4lbs is awesome - congrats! Walking is my favorite way to exercise, as long as you're getting your heart rate up it can be a great way to get back in shape because it's so easy on the joints and it's easier to go for longer than with more intense cardio. I've been really trying to focus on *me* lately as well. I started doing yoga every day and am currently on day 43 and can really see a difference in my emotional wellbeing as well as feeling a bit better about my body. Maybe we can add a healthy living check-in/question to these weekly posts?

charliefox That makes complete sense. Thank you:) I'm glad the timing is going to be better this time. It sounds like you've got a really good chance this cycle despite not having multiple follies:) Everything crossed for you!!! And how can I get my SO to have super sperm??? I feel like that would be something we could use!!! Pretty sure his guys just give up half way through the swim. Or else they're mostly swimming in the wrong direction. They're old. They probably forget what they're supposed to be doing like 3 seconds in. Sigh.

charliefox A healthy living check in would be great! I think there are a few of us at least who would definitely use this! I love yoga too! I tried taking DD to family yoga earlier this year but she had scraped her knees at school that day and it didn't go down well. Do you do it at home or do you take a class? Walking is about the only thing I know I can get done every day. Plus my knee is still so screwed up from like 2 months ago. I know I need to call up my sports therapist but I just don't have the time. I'm hoping that walking and getting rid of these last few lbs will take care of the knee!

Bluebird sorry the other mom is making you feel low:( A mom of a girl in DD's class had her 4th baby right around when my loss baby would have been due. I see the baby every day at pick up. I'm so happy for them, they're such a lovely family, but it's a daily reminder of how sad I am for me. I hope you get your bfp soon so that your nanny will have even more work ahead of her;)

Ok, so I'm back. I put up a portable wall (that I have in my classroom) around my desk and I sat at my desk and had a good long cry while I wrote reports. My aids taught everybody and I feel ok. I'm going to the doctor at 4 tomorrow to see the ob/gyn to see if anything is obvious that's causing this. I'm going to demand some kind of bloodwork. Like what if this was progesterone related and I could have prevented both of these? Like how do some people know they need this? My first appt was at like 9 weeks when I had my dd. People have to have a losses first to figure this out?
I'm ready to jump back in and just give it another go. I'll be 37 in a few weeks and I do not feel great about that, but I have to believe I've got a whole bunch of chances left for this to work out. And you know what? If this never works out, well...my daughter is perfect. She's better than I could have dreamed up and this just makes me grateful for her. Some people never get that and I do. So I feel lucky.
Back on the horse.
Sorry I'm so fucking emotional. I really do feel ok, though. I can do this.

Thank you sammysamsammysam Tlex You guys are awesome with setting up these goals for yourself! I probably have about 10 pounds to lose, but I keep putting it off because I think "I'll be pregnant soon so there is no point". Welp 10 months later and I could have lost the weight by now. It's so hard finding time to workout with working full time and then trying to get the kids fed, bath, and bedtime. I'm so tired all the time.

Yogurt That is good to hear your aids were able to let you have some time to yourself. Have you talked to your OB about any getting any blood work before? My OB was so terrible to me when I asked her if I could get basic hormone testing done after I had my 2 losses. She basically said since she couldn't confirm my losses, she couldn't order the blood work. I hope you have better luck with yours.

Age of LO: 16 months Month/cycle: 4/5 CD: 7 Timing: N/a. It looks like I may O over next weekend so hopefully we will have good timing RRCS: I'm still feeling pretty down about my last BFN but trying to get myself together. Looking forward to starting OPKs in the next couple days so I'll at least feel like I'm doing something!

Yogurt Hopefully the Dr will he able to give you some insight. I'm so sorry you're having to come back. But agree completely with your sentiments about your DD. I feel the same way about mine. So focusing on myself a bit and whatever happens happens at this point. And 37 is still young! I just turned 39 and I'm not feeling anywhere near old yet. My Dr told me during my loss pregnancy that they don't really care too much about age until you're over 40. So I've still got 10 months left;) Also, see if there is a way you can get in for an appointment right away next time. Here we have an appointment as soon as we get a bfp (with our GP...don't see an OB until around 12 weeks and only if we go that route). The OB who was on call in emergency with my loss told me I can call him the second I get KU again and that he's happy to see me right away. Which has me feeling at least marginally better about it. Now if I could only get KU...

It's so hard finding time to workout with working full time and then trying to get the kids fed, bath, and bedtime. I'm so tired all the time. Yeah. That's how I gained all the stupid weight in the first place. One more "insert food here" won't matter. I'll be pregnant soon. Hahaha. I'm also trying to walk at lunch time for an hour when I can. I'm so so tired when I get home from work but if I don't do it now then I'm worried it'll get to a point where it will become too much to handle. At least as it is I know I can lose this weight easily if I really want to. Have to start somewhere I guess. My goal is only 1 lb a week. I'm in no rush as long as the numbers are going in the right direction!
