I’m not scandalized by the emissions thing either. I think BMW just had a recall for an earlier model that would just catch on fire.

Today my DS turned 3! It was a lovely day ... despite the fact that we got a foot and a half of snow yesterday and freezing rain all day today. Freaking weather!

What’s up with the VW hate? I have my eyes on a Touareg. My dad went from a Lexus to a Touareg and says it’s the best car he’s ever owned. And since we owned an insurance agency together and have seen some awful claims, I trust his judgement. On this at least, lol.

wasabi when we car shopped in 2014 I really wanted a Mazda CX-5 but settled for the more economical Honda CR-V because it was a few thousand dollars less. I never got over it and just traded in this January and got me CX5. I should have just gotten the Mazda to begin with and I’m so happy with it now. Point being if you can swing it, get what you love now. I’m not one to be attached to things like that but something about the car spoke to me. I also love my CX5. So much. And I was going to say the same thing about getting the car you really want @wasabi.

wasabi, I drove a Subaru cross trek when we were looking for a new car and loved it. Unfortunately, DH didn’t fit well in it. We ultimately ended up with a Mazda CX-5, which I adore.

And I’ll see if I can get a pic this week, but one of the VW dump lots is not far from me. Three football fields jam packed with TDIs that are getting sold for scrap or destroyed.

I’m not scandalized by the emissions thing either. I think BMW just had a recall for an earlier model that would just catch on fire. And Ford explorers wheels would explode and there was some car that would accelerate without stopping. I think Prius maybe? Basically car companies are terrible, pick your favorite.

Well I am in for a boring night. DH left a little bit ago. DD’s doctors asked yesterday if we wanted to end IV Zofran because she has been doing good. We said yes...but that was a mistake.
I guess you know when a medicine REALLY works you think you can stop it. She ended up getting sick this evening. So they gave her Benadryl for nausea and we are back on the Zofran IV schedule.
But the Benadryl knocked her out. So early bedtime here.

Preparing to pull the trigger on something. Mama needs an SUV!

I do miss Saturn being an option. Both that I had were good. The first one got fucked up due to a moron mechanic (not at the dealer).

@gentleapricot, my dad said safety wise, it doesn’t get much better and unlike an X5, maintenance can be done just about anywhere b

After DD totaled my car, I loaned her the downpayment for her own car and agreed to co-sign the loan, up to $10k. I was kinda stunned that she picked a Dodge Dart, but I have to say it’s a really fun little car.
But, I’m sick of sharing with her and need to decide on something.

My list other wise is Toyota Rav4, Nissan Rogue, Honda CRV, Toyota Prius (I don't really want this one but I feel like it would be a good choice for gas mileage), VW Golf, or VW Jetta I love my CRV. it's mileage is the same as my civic I would love a Honda CRV for my next car. I've heard great things about Hondas in general.

Trying to keep my kid up as she has had 2 naps today and I fear she will wake up super early.
Finally was successful bribing her to eat 2 crackers and 3 spoons of Jello with the promise of fruit snacks. Poor girl just can't eat. Praying she feels better tomorrow.

I love my rav4. It’s a 2016 and it doesn’t feel sluggish to me at all. It’s also a beast in blizzards, as I found out this weekend, lol. So I have been very happy with it.

But I'll probably end up with a Kia Soul or Sportage because they are cheaper. I haven't had any real issues with my Rio and it's over six years old now.

What’s up with the VW hate? I have my eyes on a Touareg. Not sure if you're looking new or used but I don't think they're making the Touareg anymore. Either Tiguan or the new Atlas.

I love my CRV. it's mileage is the same as my civic I would love a Honda CRV for my next car. I've heard great things about Hondas in general. We have a 15 year old CRV that is still going strong, and my mom bought a new CRV last year. They are great little cars!

DS1 came home from the skate park and fell into the couch and fell asleep. It simultaneously started raining really hard. I think it’s a sign that we need to settle in and put a movie on or something. I’m making tea.

I’d personally stay away from the VWs because I’ve heard bad things about them, but I have a Rogue, and so far it’s been good to me. I was just coming to say this. Everyone I know that had a Jetta regretted it, they are notoriously a nightmare. My aunt is on her second Rogue, she loves them.
