I like the idea of a new car but I'll be keeping this one until the kid can drive it and then I'll get something new and fun and he will drive the mom-mobile. I'm within striking distance of pay off and need to experience not having a car payment for a long time. It’s the best. I lived that life for like 6 years and really loved it.

It’s nearly ingrained in both of our DNA to avoid debt. Our mortgage is our only one now, but we refinanced to a 15 year fixed 5 years ago. Hello having zero debt before either kid is in high school and then hello 200k remodel or brand new house, since we will have at least tripled our purchase price in market value by then. The only thing keeping me from refi to 15 year is that my mortgage is so low and my equity is already bananas so I'm fine having this "debt"

We spent $5k to save $100k in interest. Pretty worth it. We also could rent our janky house as is for three times out mortgage right now...not that we could buy or rent anything here that is much better for that, but it’s still a potential value. We also really like our lot and location and with a big remodel, it could be perfect, for basically a steal and good timing.

I am aggressively trying to pay off this car by fall so I don't have a car payment for a while.

I want the highlander really badly but we probably won't get one for at least 5 years. And by then I maybe will have changed my mind, lol.

Are we still talking about cars? I really love my new mini van, btw. I don't think I've had a chance to say that yet. I'm living that life.

Hell, I thought maybe you used a SN. Fuck it. I might try speed dating. Lol I'm super late, but I actually met MH speed dating. I think it was a fluke, though. It is a great, low pressure way to get out there. I told my friends before I went that all I wanted out of the night was for someone to tell me that I'm pretty and buy me dinner.

FFSC: I often “find my iPhone” when SO is driving home. (He is tech in-savvy and his phone is on my Apple ID). Not because I don’t trust him, just because I worry and like to know that he’s made progress and isn’t dead in a ditch, or the raging River that runs along the last stretch of sketchy dark highway. It’s also chain control tonight, so I’ll be extra anxious, because I trust no bitch, especially tourists leaving on Sunday. I do this to MH when I want to know if he’s left work yet, but don’t want him to think he has to hurry because I’m asking. He uses it to play a sound on my phone when he’s at the grocery store and can’t find something and I’ve set it down and am not answering his calls.
