I'm hanging out in the hospital room watching morning TV. I missed the doctors rounds yesterday when I went to the cafeteria for lunch so I don't want to miss them today.
I'm sure it'll be the same as the other days, just here to learn how to feed and grow. Harper is up past her birth weight now. She's 4lbs 1oz as of last night. But she sleeps through most feedings (tube feeding). She is kind of interested in finding my breast when we do skin to skin, but her mouth is so tiny I don't know if she'll be able to latch for awhile. I'm going to ask about trying bottles if she shows interest. She will suck on a pacifier for a minute or two, so I know she can do it.

I just had my hardest class of the week. Whenever I have them, I'm like "Yeah, my blood pressure is super high. I'm sure my doctor would sign me out right now if she took it."
Two more classes of them, max, left for the year.

jessila a good half of my residents are sick and that makes them super needy and difficult and I'm literally counting down the days too lol. 5 days to go!

ajm I'm glad she's above her birth weight now! How are you? I'm ok. I'm definitely super emotional sometimes. I started crying for no reason when I facetimed with DD and DH last night. I'm excited to go home tonight and feel kind of normal. |

ajm yay for weight gain! Keep growing baby! daffodilsandcoffee I hope your well rested feeling lasts as long as possible once you guys are home! Today I am 36wks, 5d which is the day they admitted me for induction last time and it took 2.5 days so she didn't arrive until 37 weeks exactly. Crazy to think that if this baby followed suit, he'd be here by Friday and would be an April baby instead of a May baby. Just like my DD was a June baby instead of a July baby. But for now, baby is still cooking (as he should be) and my whole body hurts. I'm hungry but can't decide what I want to go get for lunch. And then I have a chiropractic appointment in a few hours that I'm excited for.

It's SOOOOO nice here today! 21*C (70F). I have to go to the pharmacy and I'm going to walk. Hopefully it doesn't take me too long to waddle over lol

Speedy I'm laughing because lately I think I have been walking so well and fast for being so pregnant but I'm pretty sure I have the slow waddle too. Enjoy the nice weather!

Today was a struggle. I'm exhausted, my ankles are 4 times their normal size, and moving my body today took all of the effort I had. I had a few contractions tonight, nothing consistent or timeable, but I hope my body is getting ready to be done. Only 3 more days of work, once I make it through those, this guy can come anytime.

I just went to pick up dinner at the little taqueria in my tiny town. I was waiting for my food and an older hippie man with dreadlocks, wearing a leather vest, Tie Dye shirt and jean shorts and birkenstocks (just trying to paint the best picture here) took me by surprise when he bent down in front of me and started swirling his hands, blowing kisses at and singing Bob Marley to my belly. He asked if he could get closer and "feel" the baby's aura with a few rubs to the baby's "home" (which I assume is what he was calling my belly). I declined with a not so subtle WTF look on my face.
And then he sat about 3 tables away watching me and swaying his head while I waited awkwardly for my food.
The hippieness of it all is mostly normal for around here...the singing and kisses and attempted touching, not so much. Why are people so weird with pregnant ladies?! No, strangerman, please do not try to touch me.
Wtf just happened. Longest 5 minutes EVERRRRR. The nice lady who owns the taqueria brought me my food around the counter and walked with me to my car and apologized. She had only caught the tail end of it all since she was in the back getting my food. Sheesh.

Anybody have white noise machine recommendations? We have the Dohm Marpac machines. We’ve used them for years (I have chronic sleep issues) and they work really well to drown out noise. |

I woke up to go to the bathroom at 4:30 and when I laid back down, my right hip and the entire outside of my leg were in excruciating pain. So I moved to the couch and took some Tylenol and I’m hoping it subsides enough to be able to get to work.
The bright side is I get an hour to myself before everyone else gets up and the morning gets chaotic.

lovealwaysalison That is pretty out there as far as stranger encounters go. So weird! I'm glad the lady at the taqueria at least was there at the end. Had my check a day early because I was paranoid about baby moving. I gained a lot of weight in a week but am also drinking so many 16 ounce water bottles per day. He is still doimg well but the fluid is still lowish. She said she'll continue checking via ultrasound for the remainder and I'll go directly to labor/delivery if it is not enough. I am nervous about being induced, I have heard it can be really intense as far as labor goes and I am hoping he decides to come on his own terms.

Hello ladies! I should get to go home this morning if rounds go well for both baby and I!! My 3 year old is looking forward to it. He gave me the best snuggles at the hospital last night and had a really rough time when his uncle took him home. Baby girl is, so far, the chillest baby ever. Like, I had to set an alarm last night for every feed. I’m sure that will change soon though, so I’m just enjoying this energy and well rested feeling while it lasts! I’m wearing pants (pajamas) and my own clothes. Inspired by Princess Kate, I also put on makeup. No heels though—my feet are more swollen than before and my flip flops barely fit! Congrats! |

I’m bummed. My dad still has a cold virus thing so he isn’t coming tomorrow. I totally appreciate him being thoughtful and proactive but I’m also so sad he won’t be there. Then he wants to come next Friday but my mom and stepdad already made plans to come next weekend. I told him I could see if they could change their plans but he said not to bc he won’t be sure his cold will be completely gone by then. He is being so thoughtful and amicable about it but I know he is heartbroken. My dad is super sensitive and emotional. And I’m so sad and just feel so bad about it all.
