The only ones adults really eat at in my circle are ones where there is food other than pizza. It’s still always offered, and some of the time, someone will take one tiny slice.

If no one else takes a slice of pizza or whatever, I won't either. But I'm sitting there secretly hoping someone will take a fucking piece of pizza so I can too. Maybe you should take the lead, pobre. Unless you already do and no one follows suit.

I'm an equal-opportunity pizza eater.

None of the adults eat at my kid's friends parties. We just sit around staring at the kids eating. Inevitably, the host mom will come by with a pizza and offer it to all the other parents and NO ONE takes a slice. No one. It's literally every time, every party. It's so bizarre. bougie private school parents be bougie-ing

I’m honestly surprised by the answers. It never occurred to me to not eat at a kids party. I’m hungry and can’t resist pizza.

Most of the moms I ever see in my IRL are super fit, super thin, very pretty moms, and they pretty uniformly do not eat kid party food. If there are dads at the party, they may have a little snack, or a slice of pizza, or maybe cake. pobre, are these the type of moms you encounter?

If it's at a place (gymnastics, bounce house, bowling, etc) then no. If it's at someone's house then yes. But every house birthday has been like we host them too - usually cook out style. Everyone eats.
BUT, DS is only in K so we've only had a handful of daycare birthdays and NONE from K this year (whaaat?)

It’s super party specific, but I have noticed that if dads are there, they are usually eating.
For my friends (like before kids friends) they usually have good food and I know what to expect. For DS’s school friends parties, I play it by ear.
And I will totally size up a cake and decide if it’s worth cheating on my diet for.

Unless I'm told I can eat, no I don't eat anything. But most of the parties I've been to have feed everyone and we bought enough pizza to feed everyone because the party was at lunch time.

If the party is in between meals, like 2-3, then no. Lunch and dinner time parties I see parents eat. But like 50% of them at the most. Same here.

I said sometimes. If it's an at home backyard bbq type party I eat. Kids play place type party, no

I provide enough of everything for everyone and would expect the same when attending a party. I’m surprised by the answers here, but #regional.

Family bday party - yes (because it’s normally meant for the whole family to eat)
Random friend bday party not at their house- if they offer something after the kids are set up I normally will grab a slice or pizza or some fruit if I’m hungry (or a drink). If they don’t say to grab something I don’t.
I’ve gone to bday parties at the person’s house (not family) and it was a huge spread of kid and adult food (like buffet style) and I didn’t think twice grabbing a plate. I’ll eat a BBQ sandwich 🤷♀️

I don’t and wouldn’t want to hang out with an adult that thinks they are too good to eat at a kids birthday party. I’d be very much like “get the fuck over yourself”. Health restrictions/goals aside.

If it’s a party that’s solidly placed over lunch or dinner time, yes I expect food. And therefore I do the same when I host.

I eat at all opportunities. But seriously, yes, I do eat at kid parties. If it looked like there wasn't enough food or that I wasn't supposed to, I would read the room. But there has always been tons of food at all the parties I've been to.

Lol. I’m definitely not hanging out with them, just chaperoning my kid and making awkward small talk.

Yes to food. My sister has had parties where she invited us but only fed the kids. I thought it was super tacky.

And when I throw a party I provide a full meal regardless of time. So if you come to my house for a party, expect to be fed.

Yes, most of the parties I’ve been to everyone eats.
We got chick fil a for DS’s birthday last year and MH thought I was nuts for getting a sandwich platter and a big salad but the parents ate all of it. Along with all the nuggets, all the fruit and the snack size chip bags.
So, get chick fil a and you will have not leftovers and everyone will eat. 🤷🏼♀️

I have a hard time looking at food and not being able to eat it. I would get so hangry if no other adults were eating.
Luckily our family and group of friends love pizza and cake. They don’t even let the kids go first.

I'm also the fat ass who would take a slice of pizza if it was offered. Hell ya! Last kids party I was 8m pregnant and they got a pizza for the parents and everybody was standing around starting at it, and I was like move I’m hungry. I don’t expect food, but I’d its there for adults I eat up (obviously make sure kids eat first).

I will eat after the kids do unless it's a party full of adult weirdos. And even then...I'll probably eat at least cake.
HAVE TOO MUCH FOOD FOR EVERYONE AT YOUR PARTIES.

If you're expecting parents to stay and watch their own kids, then you should provide food for them as well.
I can't eat dairy so I eat ahead of time since pizza and cake are birthday party staples.

There’s been food for the parents at every party I’ve ever been to. It’s expected that most people will eat and most do. It wouldn’t occur to me to only have enough food for the kids. I am here too. I sure as fuck am going to feed everyone in attendance. I have a lot of food for C's party tomorrow and it's not gearef towards the kids at all.
