I suspect this is regional and or social circle dependent.
When you go to a kid's birthday party where the parents stay, do you eat? Do you expect there to be enough food for the parents? What about cake?

I just gauge it by what everyone else is doing....and I don't take any before all of the kids have had their fill. This goes for both food and cake.
I don't think I would have a party where I didn't not provide food for all in attendance.

I do not expect there to be food for me nor cake, but I will sometimes eat it if : it looks good, is plentiful, depending on time of day and if I'm hungry and I pass on cake almost always. I've never gone to a party where adults stay and not had the option.

I never expect to eat but there's always been enough crappy pizza and usually cake (not crappy) for adults.
Wouldn't bother me if there wasn't though.

I don't expect a snack or cake, but if there's a big bowl of goldfish and a huge sheet cake, I shall partake.

When it is in a home they usually have food for the parents.

None of the adults eat at my kid's friends parties. We just sit around staring at the kids eating.
Inevitably, the host mom will come by with a pizza and offer it to all the other parents and NO ONE takes a slice. No one.
It's literally every time, every party. It's so bizarre.

All of the parties I’ve been to have had non-parent attendees too. Like some family members, a neighbor, or childless couples. So there are definitely other adults eating. Obviously the kids get served cake first, etc.
If it was firmly a kids-only party and the only adults there were just chaperoning their kid then maybe not. I feel like I’d at least provide some snacks and drinks. Like if the kids are eating crappy pizza, maybe set out a veggie tray and some pretzels for the adults.

It depends on the time and what is being offered. The last party we went to was mid morning and they only served cake and ice cream, so none of the parents had any. The one before that was right around dinnertime so everyone ate.

I'm also the fat ass who would take a slice of pizza if it was offered.

Oh, if it's offered, adults will partake- even if just to be polite. If the hostess if offering, I'm taking at least a small piece and nibbling on it. I thought you meant the adults weren't offered food because it was only for kids and that wouldn't bother me at all.

I don't expect to eat, but if there is some left and I like it and the parent offers I will take it.
We have done pizza at all the places we have gone too and I always order extra for the parents since we are usually doing it at a meal time.

If it's at a mealtime I'd find it weird if there wasn't enough food for parents.

After the kids have been served, if there's food left over and I'm hungry, I'm eating. Except for maybe if it's crappy party venue pizza that isn't worth blowing calories on. But then again, even bad pizza is still pizza.

I've noticed it depends on the group and it does seem like no one wants to be the only one to eat. If it's offered and I'm hungry then yes, I will partake. I think I'm more likely to have a piece of cake than the pizza/meal though.

My kid is still pretty small, and so is my sample size of b-day parties, but yeah, we eat. Usually while hovering awkwardly behind the kids making sure they eat like humans and less like or

Most of the parties we've gone to are places like Bounce U and the host almost always orders extra food for the adults. Everyone always eats. We ordered penne ala vodka for the adults at my kid's last party and there was hardly any left over.

There’s been food for the parents at every party I’ve ever been to. It’s expected that most people will eat and most do. It wouldn’t occur to me to only have enough food for the kids.

I will only eat when offered after all of the kids have been fed. I'm not afraid to be the first parent to make a move though.

They too cool for pizza???? Host is probably all, MFers... eat the damn pizza. I don't want a shitton of leftover pizza, dammit. seriously. For dd's 5th birthday she wanted a pizza party so we had it at home and ordered pizza for everyone. Well half the adults didn't eat and 3 families didn't show up. we were literally handing out large pizzas as favors at the end of the party

If you expect parents to stay, you include them in the head count for food.

If the party is in between meals, like 2-3, then no. Lunch and dinner time parties I see parents eat. But like 50% of them at the most.
