Did anyone tag Kida here yet to look at the various Canadian coasts?

Everyone talking about the coasts and I'm here all, "Ontario is nice! We have water, too!"

This is making me so happy right now. I am so proud of how the country (and much of the world) has been rallying behind the hockey team that suffered a tremendous tragedy this past weekend and now this post is getting me all teared up. Anyways, I am here for when you get to the prairies. It may be cold AF here in winter, but our summers are gorgeous and there is so much to do/see during them. Yes and yes to all of it. I love our prairie summers.

I love all the east coast pics. We went there as kids but it's so so expensive to get across the country now that I don't know if/when I'll be able to go back. I just looked up airfare other day and it's comparable in cost to get to Halifax as it is to get to London or Paris (for me). This is me with BC. I went once and loved it, but I'm not sure if I'll ever go back because it's so expensive to get there. I can fly to Iceland or mainland Europe for less. We are road tripping to Vancouver Island this summer and I'm so excited! I love it there. Although my province is currently fighting with BC about the pipeline so I suppose we shouldn't announce our presence.

I have been luck to visit NS, Lunenburg area, a UNESO site, visited Montreal, Quebec city, and I did a week long exchange in grade 7 with a Quebecois family.
A few years ago I spent 2 weeks in BC, a week touring around Vancouver, and a week on the island driving from Victoria to Tolfino , which was just beyond beautiful.
And at least a couple of times a year we hit Niagara...

I used to work in Alberta a lot. I remember driving and driving up to Athabasca and looking at a map and realizing how much further north you could go. Canada is vast! Goodness why on earth were you in Athabasca?? I was giving a software training session at Athabasca University. Well, to the staff. I didn't realize til I got there that it was an online school. So pretty up there!

We lived up north for 7 years and finally moved back to SW Ontario. I love that we're still close to lakes and camping, but still in a big city. We got married up in French River and spend most of our summers there. H's dream is to move up to the cottage year round and be right on a lake. I might be agreeable once the kids are older.
I've travelled to a few places around Canada but have so many more I want to see. Our next adventure will hopefully be out east. So many fun things to do as a family and so much to see.

I’ve only been to Montreal, but I loved my time there. It was colder than what I am used to. I also tried to go to BC but Tlex told me not to come. (All love, I’m just giving her a hard time.) All of my Canadian friends friends are welcome to come visit during fall, winter, or spring, but I think summers where the lows in the 80s F (26C)might actually kill them. did Tlex tell you that the weekend she told you not to come because the weather would be terrible, was actually beautiful? Like 18c and clear blue sunny skies all weekend Ha! Yes. My trip was fun, but I am sorry I missed my possible once in a lifetime chance to meet you guys. Also, do you want to talk about why your transition has been hard? You were really excited about moving, right? And your house was on the market for a while? I’m only nosy. You don’t have to tell me anything at all.

I may have to pick your brain about it. I have never been on the West Coast, but it seems a lot of former classmates are there and thriving in their careers. Might be a pipe dream, but I'd love to get out of NB. feel free to ask away. I'd only been out here once before we moved. Where are you in NB? I was desperate to get out but spent the last 6 months wanting to go back, it's been a bigger adjustment than i thought Greater Moncton area.

Ontariooooooooo Pronounced "on-terry-o" Home to the vast majority of Canada's population. Lol So there's toronto V v v big and they'll tell you all about it so I'll just let them. The capital of Canada is Ottawa. It's charmingly known as "the city that fun forgot" which, is true, but maybe you aren't fun and you like things like the world's largest tulip festival: Skating on the worlds longest outdoor rink, aka the Rideau Canal: Historic and beautiful sight seeing: And some winter hijinks I propose a new motto for Ottawa: Not everyone can be cool, and that's ok.

Also, I've been to every province except Newfoundland and I haven't been to the territories. But as others have said, flying within Canada is stupid expensive, and if I'm going to spend that much to travel, I'd rather travel to Europe or something. I've been to Calgary more times than I can count and always love going (we're going at the end of the month!) and Edmonton as well.

Yes and yes to all of it. I love our prairie summers. Sunlight from 5am to 10pm ❤️ This sounds awesome. And is. Until you have kids. Fucking sunlight at 10 pm is the worst part of summer here because I JUST WANT MY CHILD TO SLEEP. We have blackout curtains now but they still let some light in around the edges. And man, does she notice that light.

Here for Alberta. I have lived in every major city in the province. Gotta love how you can go from desert to mountains and everything in between. Currently live where the wind farms are.

I used to spend my summers in North Bay and it was seriously amazing. I got engaged in Niagara Falls, too. I have big plans to travel all over the east coast, and eventually make our way out west. Canada is one of my favorite places to be. ❤️

What is the difference between the east and west? It's similar to the difference between Maine and Washington.

What is the difference between the east and west? Affordability. (and yes obviously lots of geographical things, yes)

swim , I really love PEI but there is just no way I'm ever getting on that bridge. We have plans to go back there some time with the kids buuuut we'll be taking a ferry, thanks. That bridge is fucking terrifying. Yes! I made my H drive and I white knuckled it and breathed deeply the whole time. We took the ferry to NS on the way out. While we were driving, my husband was very confused as to why they had built barricades around the island and painted them red. He some how never knew that the sand was red.

Beaches and warm weather vs. manhattan? Not quite..I'm not quite sure how to explain it. Oceans and mountains vs. Ocean and...hills? We have a lot of different geographical areas all within the same provinces.
