librariangirl I hear you on the unplanned large gap and IF. My DS will be 5 in Dec when this baby is due. We started trying when he was 1 and wanted a 2-3 year gap at most. IF sucks but I found I got to really enjoy my time with DS as an only for a long time and I truly appreciate that aspect of it. He really wants a sibling too and he is very independent so I am hoping that all helps when a sibling does come along. Still not what we wanted. We actually want a third and a lot of it has to do with feeling like we missed out on having 2 young kiddos close in age.

I'm also on the freaking out about starting over wagon. We were going to be OAD for almost a year, largely because my baby that never, ever slept finally turned into a toddler that's normally a pretty good sleeper. And now we just got potty trained also, at least during the day. I'm incredibly excited to add another member to our family, and I'm very much looking forward to our two kids growing up together, but I definitely have all kinds of anxiety about having a baby again, particularly a newborn. I just keep telling myself I did it once, surely I can survive it again, right?

We wanted 4 before all of the IF stuff, but I don’t think that will happen anymore. 😭 We may foster/adopt later.

I know you were all waiting on my report back, Litehouse Opa Greek Yogurt Ranch is delicious and pretty darn close to the Starbucks snack box ranch. I bought a big bag of baby carrots and some mini cucumbers and ate like a third of the bottle at lunch. Luckily it's only 40 calories per serving. No regrets.
Thanks, @snow, now onion dip sounds really good, too....

Carrots and cucumbers would've obviously been the better choice, oops. That does sound delicious, though! I got the lowfat dressing solely because the Starbucks kind is greek yogurt and I was trying to find the closest match. Onion dip and ruffles is magical.

Mmmm French Onion dip.
The yummy carrots and ranch didn’t stay down yesterday. The only thing that has with any consistency is chocolate peanut butter Cheerios and strawberry uncrustables.

Chips and dip sounds so amazing right now!
In other news, having a cold while pregnant is no fun at all. Had some coughs this morning that very nearly led to throwing up. Also can’t take any of the good medicines.

Add me to the nervous about adding another group. I’m finally feeling like we’ve found a groove, and we are working on being more consistent... all that will go out the window when baby gets here.
I hope I can be a good mom to two kids.. sleep deprivation please be gentle.

My husband is one of those lunatics who operates perfectly well on very little sleep. I am the exact opposite.
Stupid breastfeeding. I may be introducing bottles way earlier than I did with Willa.

I have every intention of exclusively pumping from the very beginning. Do not want to be the only want to feed a human at night. Take a bottle, H, mama needs some sleep!
Also, if Thing 3 is anything like DD, breastfeeding will be a shit show. I’m just gonna cut out the tears and stress and bedazzle my pump 😂
I operate so poorly on no sleep that this just needs to happen.

We tried so, so hard, but she was so set on only the boob, and I think we waited too long. My plan this time is to work that bottle into the situation from the get go. I'm delivering at a baby friendly hospital so this should go over well Same on the baby friendly hospital. Stand your ground, yo! M never learned how to latch correctly (she eventually needed feeding therapy for weak facial muscles and texture issues and it all made sense). So the boob was never a thing of comfort or nourishment for her.

I’m just gonna cut out the tears and stress and bedazzle my pump 😂 I operate so poorly on no sleep that this just needs to happen. I wound up exclusively pumping with DS, and it about drove me nuts. I made it six months. This time, I'm hoping that either breastfeeding will work out a little better, or I'm hoping to release myself of any guilt and just go to formula sooner. And by releasing guilt, I mean my own, only, and am no way trying to imply BF is better than formula. I 10000% support any mother's decision to feed her baby whatever she wants (assuming it's not anything actually harmful). Last time I was so sure I was going to BF my baby, and had read allllll the reasons for it, I wound up in a completely self-inflicted guilt trip of not being able to do it, so I'm hoping to not repeat that same experience this time.

jillywilly We made it 3 months exclusively pumping. I remember the first night home, I called my sister in tears. She was like, “Go to the kitchen and make the baby a bottle.” I just needed someone to give me permission and it was such. a. relief. after spending too much time with the crazy lactation consultant. When we debated giving M a pacifier in the hospital, a nurse had a Come To Jesus chat with us. She said, “There will be so many ways for you to mess up your kid. Giving her a pacifier right now is not one of them.” I’ve taken that to heart for a lot of things. Supplementing with formula is not going to mess up my kid. I’m releasing the guilt to the universe.

I FF DD from minute one simply because I didn’t want to BF. I felt so strongly it was in my patient file and in my birth plan.
I’m not sure what we’re going to do this time.
