Am I the only heartless soul who can’t wait to be done having kids? Get this baby out of me so it can grow into a toddler. My toddler has been 100000000% easier than when she was a baby. Ha ha, This is how I felt pregnant and one of the first thing I said after labour was that I was so happy he's my last baby. That’s how I know this is fully hormonal and I’ll come to my senses again.

Fussy day today. L is basically crying unless he’s nursing or being held over my shoulder. I really want to get out for a walk bc it’s so sunny and warm, but it’s really windy. I can’t decide if it’s too windy to go out. But I know L will sleep during the walk. I don’t know what this extra fuss over the past week is about. Maybe the peak of fussiness around 6-8 weeks I’ve read about? If so, week 9 can get here ASAP bc woof.

Well we definitely plan on having more than one, but like not anytime soon. But my baby is already almost 3lbs above his smallest weight! He's not tiny anymore! 😮 And I'm totally planning a "do-over" for next time I'm pregnant/in labor.

I wanted 3 biological kids, but after having DD things have felt pretty complete. I’m not ruling out another, it’ll probably happen but I was surprised that I actually feel okay with possibility of not having another. I think SS being 12 and there being a bigger age gap helps a lot.

mintyblueair That’s really concerning. I hope you get some more concrete answers and you’re doing okay! ArielMermaid I’m trying to enjoy the baby stage but I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t looking forward to a lot about the toddler stage. The sleep, their ability to communicate, the idea of being able to do family outings/vacations that they’ll actually enjoy... not that DS1 doesn’t have plenty of awful toddler moments, but it’s definitely different from newborn meltdowns.

Mh is 100% set on being done with two and I'm like 90% there. He is ready to schedule a vasectomy but I want him to wait until the baby is a year and go from there. But part of me is done with having to deal with birth control and it would just be nice to not have to worry about it now.

Today is DH’s first day back to work and this easily solidifies that I’m done at two. The baby decided that it’s an excellent time for cluster feeding, and while I was stuck under a nursing baby, the toddler decided to reach into his extremely poopy diaper. Which he’s never done before.
Somehow I have to get the three of us to the doctor’s office for the baby’s two-week checkup, then straight from there to the airport to pick up MIL. What could possibly go wrong?

I feel like such a newbie but how do I keep N's head from slumping while she's in the carseat? She always end up head to shoulder.

I feel like such a newbie but how do I keep N's head from slumping while she's in the carseat? She always end up head to shoulder. Make sure everything is snug, can you pinch the fabric by her shoulders? Chest clip at armpit level. Head to shoulder should be okay, it's more chin to chest that is concerning. You have to keep her Airway safe. If you want you can roll up two receiving blankets and tuck them behind her shoulders and up against her head on either side to keep her head in place. I can try to look for a picture.

mintyblueair I saw your update this morning and got pulled away by a cranky baby. I hope that you got to talk to your GP at your appointment today and maybe figured some other things out. How are you feeling? Has anything changed?

The wind is kind of nice because it makes the temperature a little nicer. I think if baby is in a carrier, or in the infant carrier on the stroller he will be okay. I wrapped E today to go out and she did really well. We're going to take her for a walk in the stroller after her appointment later. I felt like I was able to keep the wind from bothering her.

nuggetrn everything is tight. I was going to try the blanket thing but I'm worried her head would end up going down to her chest instead. I wish I could fit in the backseat with both carseats. I hate driving anymore.

cornpop the only other thing that I can think of, are there any inserts that can be taken out? Sometimes the inserts aren't required, and it could be pushing her head forward. I get you on the hating driving anymore. I sit back in the backseat with her a lot and DH doesn't seem to get it. It's just easier for me to be back there in case she needs something. Also he thinks it's uncomfortable for me, but I'm short and I don't need a lot of legroom. It doesn't make sense to him because he would be super cramped if he sat in the back all the time. Lol.

Just had our one month appointment, DD weighs 10 pounds 1 ounce. I’m happy but also sad she’s so big.

Do you think if I complain enough this baby will get annoyed and come out just to get me to stop? MH might buy her a car if she does.

Rama mine started that big 😳 my others didn’t hit 8lbs until 6 weeks or more. I’m dying that I don’t have a tiny squish!! I’m just snuggling him harder in the mean tune I guess. Ladies, I have a few observations and questions. As a 4tm I feel stupid, but I’d never used a nipple shield. My nurse insisted I take them with me and showed me how to use them. I figured they were like sticky plastic things with a hole so baby could nurse...omg they are not at all and my nipples are SO happy to be airing out. They also make me look like I have some shape even when wearing a nursing tank. (Tiny boob problems here!) anyhow, get yourself some nipple shields stat. Second, do you sleep in them too? I have no idea, I’m giving it a try. Third, for the first time ever I have received a tummy binder post Partum. The sharp pain I’ve had for 5+ months is likely a torn ligament and my floppy tummy was still causing a fair amount of strain in it and thereby causing pain. Like more than the pain my swollen lower regions are experiencing. I’ve been wearing it for a day and a half now and I’m honestly scared to take it off. It’s kind of bulky though. Do you have a tummy band? Which one and what do you love/hate about it? How did it impact your recovery? When do you know you won’t fall apart if you take it off? Oh and I figured wth we didn’t buy anything new for this guy so I ended up ordering a rock and play. It comes Monday. I’ll figure out how to get him to sleep flat in a crib later, right now I still have three other kids and I’m TIRED. I’m sure I’ll be wondering why we waited until kid #4 to join the rock and play club too. 🤷♀️

We're in the midst of a growth spurt. E has literally been on the boob for 3 hours. Minus a 45 minute break when i was in the shower and she screamed herself to sleep.

dizzycooks, are you referring to a nipple shield or a breast shell? I've got both and while my breast shell does what you describe in giving shape to my tank too (it bitty club here too), my nipple shield doesn't provide shape like that. Both are by Medela. I wouldn't wear either of them to sleep, though.

mintyblueair I saw your update this morning and got pulled away by a cranky baby. I hope that you got to talk to your GP at your appointment today and maybe figured some other things out. How are you feeling? Has anything changed? No change today. My ultrasound was negative and blood pressure was still normal (but high for my history) so I'm being seen again tomorrow for a series of blood pressure checks. My doctor today was talking about preeclampsia but she isn't sure that's what's going on. I've been asked to think about whether or not I want a CT scan for pulmonary embolism but I'm told that would be extremely unlikely. I'll update tomorrow if I get any sort of explanation!

I have another postpartum recovery question. Has anyone had bleeding pick up after starting to fade, and not due to activity? I’m two weeks PP today, and the past couple of days I’ve had heavier bright and/or dark red bleeding, including a couple of quarter-size clots. I feel like I vaguely remember something similar but less dramatic with DS1 but I’m not sure. I’ve also been having what I assume are gas pains but now wonder if it’s my uterus cramping.
I may call the nurse line but I’m afraid I’m overthinking it since I’m not hitting the red flags they gave me at discharge (very large clots, soaking a pad an hour, etc)

About the same time pp too. With both kids my bleeding pretty much stopped and then started again. And this time I had the most horrible gas pains and a really hard time passing gas. It subsided - I read something online about laying on your left side and rocking back and forth and that helped. Plus Tylenol and Advil. I attributed it to my terrible hemorrhoids. This is all more than anyone has ever wanted to know about me I’m sure. ::waves at India::

I've only gotten the baby to nap in the RNP a few times. She seems to love the bouncer now though. We are mostly cosleeping right now because I can't get her to sleep anywhere else. She'll be a month next week and I'm really going to try getting her to sleep in the bassinet in our room. I need my space back.
Dd1 loved the RNP so I'm sad this baby doesn't yet.
