I really hope someone shit their pants when they heard the news about the fbi raid. I’d be ok if it happened to any of them, really. And that everyone is up all night with lots of heartburn, agonizing over what this will bring. Thanks to misspatty I’m reading more about attorney/client privilege and the fact that they were able to seize communications between them, is huge.

I thought it had to be that the lawyer committed a crime, assisted the client in committing a crime or assisted the client in concealing a crime. Is that right or are there other circumstances? I see Trump has responded calling this “an attack on our country”. Oh. 🙄 And he’s implying the FBI broke in on their own, vs a search warrant clearly signed off on by a judge and I’m sure very thoroughly researched.

mb3 that is correct - I’m just googling at this point trying to get a better idea of it in general. But yes, everything you said is what I’ve been reading. So it would appear they have something big or else they wouldn’t have been able to seize communications.

So Steve Wynn is the finance chair of the RNC? And Cohen is deputy? Anyone want to complain about Tom Perez some more?
(That's TIC. I don't begrudge anyone their criticisms of leadership).

I am not. I assume this means he's going to fire Mueller. I am ignorant in this point because there has been so much back and forth but......
I thought he couldn't fire him. If he did that would be a conflict of interest and would pretty much mean his impeachment.

I figured the GIF party would be strong after the Cohen news. Y’all did not disappoint Trump said it’s an attack on what we all stand for. No, asshole - your presidency is. You’re not above the law simply because you’re president. (See also: Nixon. Yes, it’s still illegal.) Now please excuse me while I go rock in the corner saying “Please don’t fire Mueller” over and over...

In theory, yes, it should. BUT that would require Republican leadership to do something about it. Which they probably won’t.

If we had a Congress that exercised its duty as a check and balance on the Executive then, yes, it would mean his Impeachment. I don't have faith in this Congress to protect and defend the Constitution.

It's interesting to me that Trump says NYPD should "rough up" suspects, but the minute there's an investigation into some highly suspicious business adjacent to him law enforcement is the enemy and shouldn't be trusted.

The GOP would need to grow a spine for impeachment to happen at this point. It hasn’t happened thus far so I don’t have a lot of confidence that they’ll change now. Added: I see y’all have covered this already. I should have known.

They will do nothing. McCain will vent his anger to the press, Moran will mutter something to his constituents about being “troubled”, and Graham will take POTUS golfing. Ryan will find it difficult to comment given that his lips are permanently glued to DT’s ass.

I’d also like to point out that although they’ll do nothing against him, you know there are more than a few who made some calls to strategists to discuss if they should do anything different to be ready for 2020 and running themselves.

On a random note, the hotel that Cohen was staying in, is apparently the same one Conor MacGregor is in. No point here, it's just weird.

Cohen raid is the best news I've heard in awhile!!! Enjoying watching Trump continue to unravel. Though it's going to be a buzzkill when he flip outs and fires Mueller or bombs Syria.

Wow, what a day. I wish it felt like more would happen, but I just don't see Congress doing much. I feel frustrated that it doesn't ever seem to make a difference with supporters either.
Trump must be melting down.
