This thread was about to move to second page so I'm bringing it back. How's everyone doing with their practice? Tried any new classes/studios? How do you hold yourself accountable and challenge yourself if you practice at home?

I've had a good two weeks so far, managed to squeeze in a lot of hours on my mat recently. It feels so good, especially with all the chaos in the news it really helps my perspective.
I tried a new power flow class and it was quite the challenge but left me buzzed all day so that's good.
I have still not tried to practice at home other than messing around with my kids. I just don't seem to have self motivation in my living room. Tell me how you do it.

Sweetjane thanks for bringing this back! I wanted to find t yesterday but didn't go back and look. I'm trying to find ways to motivate myself for home practice. I found reading novels/magazines focused around yoga fun and had me wanting to do more so I want to get into that again.

I got a free subscription to Yoga Journal this year and it's a decent read, too many ads though. I'm glad it was free. Do you practice at home or in a studio?

Sweetjane at home mostly! I really wish I could get back into a studio but it just never seems to work out. I read yoga journal through my library, so that's good and free.

I never thought of that but it would be nice to read about yoga that way, easy to relate.

Sweetjane my 2 favourites so far are Yoga Bitch and Enlightenment for Idiots. Light and fun reads but just made me more enthusiastic haha. I've read a few others that were not so great chick lit too. I've got a mystery series from the library too im going to check out tonight.

I go through whatever series of poses are calling to me to release physical tension and quiet my mind so I can rest. I do it right before I hop into bed, so it's quiet and no one is bugging me.

Do you do the ujjayi breath? It has helped me so much and I find myself doing it at home even when I'm just sitting on the couch watching TV or reading. I love how ujjayi sounds like ocean and calming waves. That sounds like a nice way to end your day @rocknroll.

Just finished a home practice. I'm going to keep reviving this thread and chatting about yoga in the hopes that I can keep my practice going if that's cool with you guys?
I signed up for the free trial for Find What Feels Good (yoga with adriene's paid site/app). So far content is decent, not sure I would continuously pay for it but it might be nice to sign up for a month here or there to get more motivation/inspiration.

OH I've been meaning to mention here, I took my first yoga nidra class last Friday. It's restorative + guided meditation, and it was fantastic. I really needed help quieting my racing thoughts and it did just that. I left feeling calm and refreshed.

I started poser (a memoir) and I am really connecting with it even though I just started. It’s about a mom who is burnt out and tries out yoga. Am enjoying it!
@rocknroll I’ve always been intrigued by yoga nidra.
I think I will take up a yoga instagram challenge as soon as I find one since that usually gets me to my mat more often.
