We have been managing sleep in the latter half of the night with baby sleeping on me. We get a sleepy 2-4 hour stretch and he just wakes and nurses. Just trying to get by this phase.
We struggled with napping yesterday. Older kiddo woke up from her nap just as I got baby asleep. I told MH to get her out of the room before she woke the baby other wise I'd probably lose it.

I just cannot get the baby to sleep in his bassinet during the day. He sleeps great in the cat seat if we’re out and about but otherwise newp.
Best I’ve gotten is a an hour but typically he wakes up 5-10 minutes after I put him in there asleep.

I wonder if J would nap better during the day if I put him in a swaddle. He falls asleep if I rock him, but as soon as I put him down he wakes up and cries. I don’t have that problem at night and the only thing I think I do differently is the swaddle.

So we're back to swaddling and it makes transferring her to the crib so much easier.

If he randomly falls asleep while we’re holding him, we’ll try to lay him down unswaddled, but he always wakes up like 10 min later. I’m scared for when we can no longer swaddle.

I should try tucking a swaddle blanket under/around him, that works good in the carseat, he's taken some long naps in there like that. Idk if it would be tight enough for safe sleep though?

E's dresser with all of her clothes is in Ds' room because we're lacking in floor space. Usually I bring an extra sleeper to our room just in case she needs it. Tonight, however, was a shitshow and B went to bed right after dinner. The baby just had a blowout. Of course. There's no back-up jammies and no basket of unfolded laundry like usual. I very much do not want to wake the toddler sneaking in to his room.

I can't wait until baby is past the spit up phase. Laying him down for a poopy diaper change after a feeding in the MOTN results in messy pajamas for him or me. I had to completely change head to toe.

It really does work. But he’s such a picky swaddler that it feels so high maintenance to get it exactly the right way. I’m looking forward to when we don’t have to swaddle anymore

I’m sick of swaddling too. But he loves to be all warm and snug. I just wish he’d stop wriggling out because then he wakes up cold. I have transitional swaddle suits at the ready but I’m worried they’ll be too small for my pudding belly bubba. The swaddle up suits that DS1 wore at 3 months are a tad tight in the belly region 😬

We are apparently team sleep sack for life in this house. DS1 is still in one at three weeks shy of turning three. Works out well as he still ends up on top of the blankets from time to time so he stays relatively warm.
I should really wean him off them since when he finally decides to engage in potty training it’s an extra hurdle to getting to the toilet in the night.

I did try it when I put him down so I could put DD to bed. I’m not sure if it’s a coincidence but I’m going to try it for naps today again and hope for the best.

Everybody is asleep but I am wide awake. It is our last night in Florida and while feeding L a little bit ago I realized that we might’ve forget DS1s little stuffed dog he loves at the previous hotel. Their lost and found doesn’t open until 9:00. My heart can’t handle a lost toy right now I hope it is in lost and found or on the floor of the rental car or somewhere in this hotel room.

E will not sleep anywhere but on me. She wakes up the second I put her down. It's been like 3 days of this and i'm over it. I'm leaving SO with both kids and a bottle when he gets home and going to have a nap. He's already on my shit list so he better not whine about it.

Ugh. A storm kept the toddler up and I’m a shitty mom bc DD2 didn’t sleep well bc she was cold and I didn’t realize it. DD1 is a furnace like DH and rarely slept in more than a onesie or diaper and sleepsack. DD2 must take after me - I’m always always freezing.

After cluster feeding until 10:30 I thought I would get at least one decent stretch of sleep. Nope we were still up EVERY hour. Now he is sleeping in my arms. I thought this was the age when longer stretches started. Maybe my baby is broken .

So this kid will give me a decent 3-4 hour stretch to start the night. Then at 1 or 2:30 she wakes up and is wide awake for 2 to 3 Hours. She falls back asleep in time for DD1 to be up for the day. Wtf children?!

Oh my gosh, I must have picked up some kind of bug. I’ve been in a miserable feverish dozing haze for awhile and finally woke up enough to take Advil. I feel awful. My sinuses and ears ache, but of course I want to try to avoid Sudafed so I don’t tank my supply.
This is so, so miserable.

Wtf children?! This sounds like my child. I hardly ever can get him down before 10:00 before that he just wakes up. We have been getting a 4-5 hour stretch after that. Getting him back to sleep after that wake up never takes less than an hour. I don’t know how I am going to survive going back to work in 13 days.

Feel better katietopaz! DS is going through a thing and is having nightmares. Last night he literally could not fall asleep. He was still awake at 9 when I went up to bed so I snuggled with him for an hour before I had to feed the baby. He was still awake when I left. Up again at 3. Can three year olds be insomniacs? He's not napping in the day time anymore so it makes no sense to me that he can't sleep. He's perfectly peachy temperment wise.

Thanks friends! After the Advil kicked in I was able to fall back asleep. I really, really wish I could be taking full doses of Sudafed round-the-clock. Hopefully tonight is better and this bug is short-lived.
