The halo sleep sack swaddles have been working well for us. But the zipper and velcro are really loud and the velcro does snag the muslin sheets a little. The pedi said we need to start transitioning out of the swaddle though... so starting with one arm out maybe. We also have the Merlin sleep suit thing so we might try that. Seriously my babes stay swaddled until 6 months - with at least one arm in! And that doesn’t happen until 4m or so!

This one is still happy to be swaddled with a blanket style swaddle which is odd as he is quite capable of busting out. Sometimes I use the swaddle up suits but lately he prefers to be wrapped ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I have so many different sleep sacks from DS1. The love to dream were good in summer (0.2 tog and soft and breathy). But we are going into winter so I need to dig out my warm ones for this guy. Same here. I've just been swaddling her with regular muslin blankets becsuse she doesn't like to be to be too tight. And with one arm out because she's trying really hard to find her thumb and I don't wanna stop her if she can get herself back to sleep.

Clean diaper, fed and burped. In the time it took for me to use the bathroom, he'd pooped and needed another diaper change. I haven't been able to get him back to sleep for the last 45 minutes.

We're on the third night in a row of hour+ midnight wakeups. I'm so frigging tired. E is fighting sleep so hard and clawing at my neck.

Discovered that the older kid had a 103 fever just before bedtime. Gave her a dose of Tylenol and hoping for improvement in the morning.

What?? That seems way, way early? I wondered if it was early too. He’s 10 weeks and she recommended this at his 8 week appt. She said he needs to be out by the time he’s rolling and we should start now so it can be a gradual transition instead of stopping cold turkey the day he rolls. He doesn’t seem super close to rolling, so I’m not sure when it will happen for him. I’m scared though. *whispers* he’s been sleeping well with the swaddle and I really don’t want to mess with a good thing. I have been reading that the new recommendation from the AAP is to stop swaddling at 8 weeks because of the risk of rolling over. We definitely swaddled DS1 much later than 8 weeks. I have transitioned L out of the swaddle and it sucks. I saw in one of your other posts you have the Merlin magic sleepsuit. I am about ready to buy one because L’s sleep has been terrible lately unless being held. We only get about 45 minute to 1.5 hour stretches at a time in the pnp.

i think i swaddled dd1 until 4 months😬 and then we did the merlin which worked well. i’m thinking of doing the merlin earlier this time. she seems to be busting out of the swaddle a lot sooner than dd1, but she is still giving a good 4-5 hour first stretch so i’m not sure i want to mess with it yet.

I swaddle DD sometimes but it’s not a must. She’ll be 8 weeks on Thursday. Same thing happened with DS. I'm lazy, they get out and we often bed share so it happens organically. They’ve both rolled belly to back by this point, but back to belly is a long ways from now so the new recommendation surprises me. I would still swaddle if they needed it past 8 weeks.

I wish J would swaddle. He is finally giving me a good first stretch of sleep (3-4hrs), butbis then up for a couple hours. His first astretch is in the crib but then I have to put him in the RnP if I want any hope of getting him back down. I hate relying on the RnP.

Baby slept so well last night. Tonight I don’t know if I have slept at all. Please give me an hour.

We don't have to swaddle in the RNP. I haven't figured out the PNP yet. Maybe I'm afraid of the PNP since I know that he will sleep in the RNP.

They don’t sell RNPs here 😟
DS2 has been doing pretty well in the bassinet so far, he likes to be warm and snuggly so happy to be swaddled. But he wriggles our after awhile and then gets restless. When does the startle reflex stop normally?

Not sure if I remember when the startle reflex stopped with my older one.
I'm trying the Cloud sleeper PJs tonight, pretty handy for diaper changes MOTN. Speaking of which, we've gotten almost 3 hours stretches twice tonight. My boobs are not pleased.

Don't hate me...E slept an 8 hour stretch last night. I got a 5 hour chunk and we were up for the day at 5:00 but it still feels real good.

N has been consistently giving us a 4-8 hour stretch in the early part of the night. But last night she was up at midnight, 3, and 5 and I'm exhausted. Thankfully she goes back down easily at night and she's still sleeping right now. When I'm tired it's so hard for me to keep it in perspective that this is just a phase of life that won't last forever 😬😴

DD2 finally sleeps a good chunk at 6 am. DD1 wakes up at 6:30. It’s a conspiracy.

The baby has been fighting sleep in the RNP the past few nights. I swear just as we get into a good routine she switches it up on me.
I put her in the bassinet after her 4am wake up this morning and she slept 3 hours in there. I think I'm going to try the bassinet from the beginning tonight.

I’m sorry, me too. I’m thinking I’m going to switch out the rock n play for the co sleeper tonight to see if that changes anything. I’m dying here.

Me too. Up every hour and from 2-4:30 we were up as well. I need lots of coffee today since I can't even try to nap. We have carpet being installed.

It’s been a rough day. The witching hour started at 4:30am this morning and it’s now 4:00pm. Sigh.
I have been trapped under a baby all day and I’m predicting it will be all night too 😭🙁😣

J has been giving me a 3-4 first stretch. By stretch 3 I have to resort to the RnP. I’m up 3-5x a night. All three kids started crying before 7 and was not ready for the day. DH did come in during one wake up last night to inform me “um I didn’t forget about Mother’s Day, I just lost track of time, so we can do what you want on Sunday”. Then he left the nursery. Thanks hun.

I tried the cosleeper for the first time last night and the baby actually slept for a few good stretches. I don’t know if the cosleeper is magic or if it was a fluke but it was soooooo needed! Also, she can apparently roll up onto her side. Cool.
