charliefox I chickened out, and I injected myself in my belly. Maybe I’ll try the leg tonight, but I doubt it! I hope your trigger darkens into a wonderful second line!

So you have the option of where to inject yourself? Interesting. There are several options for SQ injections. The belly is usually the best place because it’s easily accessible for self injection and there is a lot of surface area.

charliefox Is your trigger line gone (or getting darker!!!!) yet? No and no, lol. It was a squinter yesterday (9dpo/11dpt) and just a shadow today. Here are the facts: My LP is ~11 days I spot 1-3 days before AF Not spotting yet (at 10dpo) Temp usually drops day before or day of AF Temp is still up (chart in siggy if you want to be crazy with me) Short bout of very localized cramping yesterday Otherwise just weird non-af like cramps over the past few days I guess tomorrow will be telling, or maybe the next day. I'm going crazy - can you tell? 😂

Yes. I’m not a tester but with the trigger I want to be sure I know what’s going on.

Spotting today at 11dpo, temps on a downward trend. I expect AF tomorrow, Wednesday at the latest. Damnit.

I’m feeling my regular pms symptoms so I’m pretty sure I’m out, too. Blah.

Got a bit of good news today, though. My progesterone was the highest I’ve ever seen! So yay for that!

Okay, not ready to call it CD1 yet but it will be by the end of this evening, maybe tomorrow morning. Anyway, onto the next cycle!
Anyone care to share their experience with Clomid or Femara? This IUI was just natural (with trigger shot) we'll be moving on to medicated with the next one and I want to know what I'm in for. Medication schedule, other meds I might need, side effects, issues that may arise etc.
Also, should I ask for more testing? All my RE has done is basic fertility bloodwork (thyroid, amh, and something else) plus checked my progesterone one cycle at 7dpo. I've also had an HSG. H had an SA (plus the testing done with the IUI). I know I'm ovulating, I have like 4.5 years of charts. **TW: LC, and losses** I have a 2.5 yo, but had a recent loss and a loss before having DS. **end TW**
Is there more my RE should be testing for? Is there something we're missing? Or should I just go forward with the medicated IUI and cross all things?

charliefox It sounds like you’ve done all the same testing that I did. As for the meds, I’ve only done femara so I can only speak to that. I usually do femara on cd3-7, basically I get a baseline sono to check for cysts and then start femara if I’m good, which I have been every time so far. I have done cd4-8 when the weekend has gotten in the way. I have minimal side effects on femara. Usually I get a mild headache and some fatigue on the last couple days and then those go away when I’m done with the meds. I just take Tylenol if I have to. I will say that femara has lengthened my LP so keep that in mind your first cycle. I thought for sure I was pregnant but nope, it was the drugs. I did 4 cycles with femara only and this cycle I added a trigger.

So sorry for impending CD1 charliefox. I have never taken Clomid, so I can’t help you there. Femara gives me mild to moderate headaches. I take Excedrin Migraine for them. Femara did not lengthen my LP at all. I’ve heard of others that have had their LP lengthened by Femara though. ETA: I take Femara CD 3-7. I do not have a baseline US, only follicle monitoring US. I had all the testing you did, plus only a hemoglobin A1C (I have PCOS and am overweight), and a Vitamin D level. I can’t think of any other testing you would need.

charliefox, my experience has been very similar to obscureference. I had a baseline u/s on CD3, Femara CD 3-7, u/s on CD10 to see what was happening, then digital OPKs daily starting CD11. I had no noticeable side effects from the Femara. No trigger, I turned a positive OPK on CD 16, IUI the next day, and then I started progesterone suppositories on 3 DPO. I had all the testing you had, plus our office requires an infection disease panel for both partners before IUI or IVF. I had a few more tests too I think because they have me taking a Vitamin D supplement since that came back low.

Well I had my US today. I have a giant follicle (measuring 3.3 x 2.7cm or 33 x 27mm), but it’s on my left ovary. I don’t have a left tube, so this cycle is cancelled. I’m starting Provera today to end this cycle faster. We’ll see what happens next cycle.

You don’t need to ovulate on the same side. Just curious. I know quite a few people with one tube who’s egg jumped sides to implant.

My RE said the chance of the egg traveling to the opposite side is one in a billion. Plus, with my luck, it would implant on the outside of my uterus or something and I would have to deal with another ectopic.

Yeah, I would not want the chance of another ectopic either! I hope your next cycle goes better! Hugs!
