I can completely commiserate snowmoon. My BFF is the same. She kept trying to set up a girl's weekend this month to go shopping all day and go out for fancy meals. I finally just had to tell her that no, at this point in pregnancy, it just was not feasible. While I certainly appreciate the effort and value her as a friend, it is sometimes hard being on really different life paths at the moment.

I’m really tired of feeling like a time bomb. Every bit of leaked pee, every cramp, contraction, every time I get exhausted. I’m wondering is this it? I do NOT want to push this kid out. I am not up for it. Do not want. Am I horrible?? Omg. I’m panicking just thinking about it. I’m trying to keep the fridge stocked, house clean and laundry done so it’s decent for my mom to stay here. It’s exhausting. I want spring so we can be outside.

pearbear and snowmoon good for you for setting boundaries. It’s hard when people don’t “get it”.

Oh my goodness, I just can’t get enough of these newborn snuggles and tiny baby noises. Totally makes up for the staying up all night to nurse thing. I’m also so thankful for how much easier so many things have been the second time around. Except for the nursing contractions. How long do those happen for?
I wish we could go home from the hospital tonight, but all the state tests happen at the 24-hour mark which means we wouldn’t even start discharge until at least 8. I think I’d rather get home fresh in the morning, but I’m itching to be home, especially so I can see more of DS1.

Man, I feel like all the hormones are just kicking in. I've been pretty even keeled all week. But this afternoon has been a doozy.

Late but tinyjoys my M15 ended up a June 15 and I didn’t move over there lol. yianna I’m so sorry about your sciatica that really stinks. Some of the sciatica stretches helped me (some did nothing), I googled sciatica pregnancy stretches and got some, JIC you haven’t tried that yet ☹️

We got home from hospital today! DS1 was very excited to collect us lol.
I’m drinking lukewarm coffee and holding a baby trying to buy nursing bras in 12G 😬
Everything I bought, nursing tanks, bras and even tshirts did not account for my boobs getting this big so online shopping it is! With DS1 I went from 10D to 12E and with this one I started at 12C so going up to a G was not anticipated.

We were anticipating an earlier delivery due to complications, especially after my near uterine rupture during my May15er's delivery, but apparently my body is handling pregnancy way better this time around.

Huh. So, I thought that the first 24 hours of newborn life involved lots of sleepiness on the part of said newborn. Not mine. In his...8 hours of life, he’s wanted to nurse seven times, and already cranked out his first poopy diaper. And I haven’t slept yet because he wants to be on the boob and he keeps opening his eyes to look around. Our mother-baby unit nurse was like...I’ve never seen a fresh baby so alert. Is this my future?? 😳 That’s what they all said about my M15-er. Ts and Ps. But actually it did get better, just needed zero stimulation in sleep area (pitch black room, secure swaddle, white noise).

The best part about not being pregnant anymore is being able to fully empty my bladder. Easily. Effortlessly.
Okay, maybe not the best. But it is really effing great to drink as much water as I want and just PEE IT OUT. Not a teaspoon at a time.

My boobs don't seem to work that way - even when not engorged, they are uncomfortable to sleep on unless fully empty of milk, which only lasts, like 5 minutes after feeding. It took me probably a year before I could sleep on my stomach with my previous kids. And actually, I bet I never really did. I think I've just stopped being a stomach sleeper because of it. Damn boobs.

Babe and I slept in this morn since my sister and niece are gone now. Since then he's only slept about 20 min at a time before waking up crying. I do not foresee a good night ahead if he keeps that up. I'm nursing him now and praying that he'll go 3-4 hours like he has been most nights.

Even though today didn't go as planned, I made the most of it by spending the rest of my afternoon with my kids doing things I know they like and enjoy (partially because I felt guilty about how desperate I was to have a few hours away from them). Now that the younger ones are in bed, I'm watching House Hunters, eating some strawberry cream pie, all while this baby in my belly wiggles and stretches.

This kid can EAT. He has been nursing for literally 2.5 hours. Thank God for my night nurse - she’s super supportive and reassuring. She thinks this is one of the biggest cluster feeds which will hopefully encourage my milk to come in soon. She also took what will be his discharge weight and he’s only down 2% from his birth weight.
Also I’m slightly delirious from lack of sleep. I can’t wait to go home and have both DH and my mom to lean on.

I think I am mostly caught up here. It has been a busy week for me with my brother being home and the new baby. It is interesting to see how much life has changed now... Going from being able to just pick up and go to having to figure out scheduling around the baby. Thankfully my brother was super helpful and very cool about everything. He loves his little niece but definitely can't wait until she's bigger and more interactive. He wasn't too keen on holding her at this stage. Twice while she was sleeping in my arms I just kind of plopped her down on him. I was like she just needs a warm body and I need a break!!! It worked out well 😂😂

Tonight's (this morning's?) feeding casualty... My poor chair. And the little stinker 5 seconds after this epic burp which apparently knocked her out. {Spoiler}

Praise sweet baby Jesus for my night nurse, and that she isn’t militant about the hospital being “Baby-Friendly.” I hit a limit and baby was getting inconsolable, so we just did a little formula. Poor guy, I hope that does the trick after almost five hours of trying to nurse through it.
The nurse also thinks he may have a slight tongue tie, so I’ll point that out when the pedi does their rounds this morning. Just in case that’s causing an issue.

katietopaz you’re making it hard for me to be excited about nursing again lol I’m sorry! For what it’s worth, every single other facet of nursing has been so much easier the second time around, so take this crazy cluster feeding story with a grain of salt.

Good morning ladies!
It’s -26 here and it snowed last night. It feels like January - not almost April. I’m doing my best to remain zen

Mh is at class this morning and I need to go grocery shopping for our Easter get togethers today and tomorrow. I'm hoping my solo shopping trip with both girls isn't a complete disaster.

I have contemplated going to the grocery today but I have to imagine it might be busy and I hate people 😂 I try to make it a point to not shop so close to a holiday.

Baby has been awfully quiet all morning. So, I broke out the doppler to check on him and for a few long moments, I couldn't find his heartbeat. Talk about instant panic mode. Thankfully, using the doppler was enough to make him mad and he moved slightly making it easier for me to hear his heart beating away (about 140 bpm). He must just be having a lazy day. Wednesday morning can't come soon enough. My anxiety is at an all time high.

Wednesday will be here so soon.
