C got up at 6:30. I’m tired and assuming Dh will sleep pretty late so I think I’m going to take C to breakfast and then an indoor play space. I totally missed the ball and all the Easter egg hunts today are sold out. But it’s kind of rainy anyway.
What’s your weekend plans?

Morning. Dd woke up at 5.15. Let the kids watch tv for a bit, it is too early to function at that hour. Went to my aunts’ for coffee and my other aunt is coming over for wine this afternoon. Got a mini greenhouse at a dollar store this morning, so ds and I are going to plant some seeds today or tomorrow. I need to get some food, but not much else on the agenda today.

wedding Sold out Easter egg hunts? Like you have to register/pay for them in advance? I didn’t know that was a thing. S missed her Easter egg hunt at school yesterday because she was sick, so I might take her to one in a neighboring town this afternoon. But it’s in the middle of nap so it may not happen. I might try to get her to nap early, and if she wakes up in time we will go.

Okay call me old school, but for me an Easter egg hunt is in your own/your parents yard/nearby park/woods with your own eggs on Easter Monday/Sunday. Talk to me about these giant egg hunts, how does this work?!

Talk to me about these giant egg hunts, how does this work?! The one we did last year, sponsered by the city (I live in a pretty small town) was free, but it was a mess. So many kids running crazy! And Evie is super shy so she wouldn't run out to get any eggs unless H or I went with her. I think we will skip it and do our own. For us, its just to get free candy, not worth the hassle.

And the smaller kids. We were in an age group of like 3-6, so I think we got like 4 eggs and the bigger kids walked off baskets full.

Evie stayed with MIL last night so I'm enjoying coffee and the news in quiet. We are going to pick her up, drop my ring off to be cleaned and checked, H needs to go to the chiro, we are going to order our carpet and set the install date (depending on the cost) and get groceries.
And of course basketball this evening!

She just doesn’t understand that she’s supposed to pick up the eggs and put in her basket. She gets to an egg and wants to sit and play with it. So with a lot of help from me, she gets like 3-4 eggs and everyone else has baskets full. But I just want her to have the experience, and hopefully “catch on” to what we are doing one of these days. Last year she did put 1 egg in her basket on her own!

Once you get your ten you leave the hunt area so everyone gets some.

My friend is about to drop her daughter off and I'm taking both girls to an egg hunt. She has a therapy appt with her STBXH and son to tell their son about their separation and immpending move. It will be my first time with 2 four year olds on my own. Pray for me. LOL
Mh is staying home to wait for our new dishwasher. He was unable to get it fixed in the month I gave him, so he bought a new one.

Talk to me about these giant egg hunts, how does this work?! Same. We always had them in the backyard growing up on Easter Sunday. A couple times we’d go to our country club for one. Nowadays it seems like everyone and their brother hosts one. We still just do them in our own yard—up until this year B has been the only little so he gets all the eggs and is thrilled. He’ll have to share with C this time and she’s not going to go down without a fight so this might turn into a WWF-style egg hunt!

The city hosted egg hunts tend to be a free for all and not fun for littles. But there is a farm here that does age group and 12 egg limit. They do the hunt in the apple orchard so the kids go down a few aisles and don't mix with other ages. I pay for that one because they have some other things and I'd rather pay for that then free chaos. But every church and rec center hosts a hint these days. I have bought a bunch of candy and treats to put in our eggs at home.

Morning! We were supposed to be heading to a resort a couple hours north with DHs family. They have an indoor waterpark that N was very excited about. Well, everyone north and south of us had a ton of snow over night and we didn’t get a single flake. ILs were projected to get a foot of snow so we cancelled going away so they wouldn’t have to drive through it.
I’m bummed about canceling but not bummed that we missed out on the snow. Phew!
So now we have a sitter coming tonight and we will go to a friends for a “Chardonnay challenge” that we were invited to.

We went to an egg hunt at a brewery last year. It was great. MH and I drank beer and they had face painting, a little egg hunt, ect. It was a gorgeous day so everything was outside.

Morning.
I went to the mall last night once I put J down to return some Old Navy clothes. The spring fashion thread on GD and wine proved expensive last Friday night, but the ON pants were a bust. MH put B down and he cried because I wasn’t there. He was sure to give me shit and remind me to ‘never’ leave again, ok kid.

Ds just made me tape an angry video to send to Dh about how it’s unfair that he went to England without us. He ended with an angry stare and a ‘send it now’. I almost died laughing.

Morning. We’re going on a family/dog walk before h’s first nap. This afternoon we’re headed to a friends house to celebrate his birthday. Basically MH will get to have fun while I make sure the kids don’t break anything. 🙄

C and I had breakfast and then went to the playspace. On the way back I asked him if he had fun on his mom date and he said he missed Dad. As soon as I walked in I went up for a nap and he can have his dad all to himself. 😉

I let M watch Leap last night. She’s obsessed and is dancing around the house. Watch me. Watch me, mommy. Watch me.
Adorable but so annoying.

Hi!
Just finished having coffee with the other wives in my H’s command. It’s a nice group, we try to get together about once a month.
I’m now making a kid-free trip to Home Goods and will head home after that.
Our sitter texted me this morning that she’d had a cancellation for tonight and did we want a date-night? Um, yes. Love that she’s got some hustle and we were her first call. I guess my H’s strategy of overpaying is paying off 😂 So we’re going to see Game Night.

We stopped at Target before getting the kid for Easter basket stuff. They now make Easter eggs for parents like me...they're already filled with candy.
I stopped at the jeweler and had my ring looked at, 2 diamonds with loose settings so I had to leave it. But it beats losing another damn diamond. I also bought a pair of plain gold hoops, with a touch of silver, that had been previously owned, to wear all the time.
