My sling is an eesti shoulder or whatever and I find it very comfy! kaeguri DD hasn't let me wear her in almost a year and I've been MIA from the babywearing world. Why are wrap conversions not allowed anymore?

My sling is an eesti shoulder or whatever and I find it very comfy! kaeguri DD hasn't let me wear her in almost a year and I've been MIA from the babywearing world. Why are wrap conversions not allowed anymore? So new regs were just went in effect last month. Ring slings can only be converted from brand new wraps that have been tested by the the individual converter (each blend and weave). So the converter has to pay out of pocket and send a RS off to be tested before they can convert it now. So a lot of WAHMs aren't doing wrap conversions at all anymore. It also affected weavers, now all handwovens have to be tested by blend and weave structure, so most of the weavers only picked one or two blends to offer now. No more fancy fibers, almost everyone did cotton, tencel, or wool, with a few hemp and silk from the higher end weavers. And it's stupid expensive, my friend paid $800 to have her blend tested, and the wrap destroyed in testing.

kaeguri whoa I can just imagine the drama that must have been on the FB babywearing pages! I don't know about now but they used to be drama filled and it kept me entertained while nursing.

catladymeow, yeah everyone flew into a tizzy, but it wasn't too bad. Drama has come down a lot this past year as the community has grown exponentially. It's changed so much in the last 2 years. I don't keep up with the drama anymore lol. Just a few of my favorite chatter pages, and like one BST page because pregnancy churning is a real thing.

I was looking at the grow with me so that I can avoid the insert. I did very little NIP with DS and mostly just nursed at home so I hope I feel more comfortable this time around. We have a Lillebaby that we used from birth that I used to nurse in. It was the only carrier I ever felt comfortable nursing in. Plus no insert! And DD loved front facing when she was big enough. I haven't heard of this one...off to google 😊

cornflakegirl, you can use a rolled-up blanket to replace infant inserts in soft structured carriers. have you tried sinus rinses with a neti pot/squirt bottle for your congestion? for dry nasal passages during the winter, i find rubbing coconut oil inside my nostrils before bed each night helps a lot. reflux can also be a cause of congestion. you might want to try a wedge-shaped pillow- it's easier to sleep propped up that way and it helps with reflux. walmart has them for about $20. alternatively, you could try something like zantac before bed for a couple of days and see if that helps at all with the congestion. I have not tried the neti pot but that's a good idea! I use the saline spray several times per day and it does help a little. I'm not experiencing reflux but the reason I started propping my head up at night is because I find it easier to breath. Also, I was waking up with severe cotton mouth, which I think is a result of the post nasal drip. I keep a water bottle near my bed and drink from it every time I wake up.

When i was sick and really stuffy and coughing I put a cough drop in my mouth before I went to sleep. Probably not the best option for your teeth and potential choking hazard, but it made it so I didn't have dry mouth which caused more coughing. I second the neti pot suggestion. And I have been putting a smear of mentholatum on/under my nose at night. It helps.

I'll try the cough drop tonight.

cornflakegirl don’t forget to use distilled water (right? I don’t use them but I think that’s right)! I heard horror stories about tap water in neti pots.

Well the colace finally did something and I pooped but holy shit. Literally. I had to use the plunger 😖. And that was with still being able to squeeze little 'bits' out all week. If I end up not going at all even a little for days I'm probably going to break my toilet when the meds kick in.
Maybe I just need to buy new toilets. These are almost 10 years old and nothing special.

Day 2 of swim lessons went much better then last week🙌DS held on tight at first but I was able to get him to do his kicks! We even used a little board for him to lay on his tummy. I'm still not too fond of the swim instructor but her assistant is very nice.

Oh and thank you for suggesting to practice kicks in the bathtub imapenguin! We worked on those all week and I think that really helped😊

I always recommend this. It’s a bit bigger than bouncers but smaller than a rock n play. As long as baby couldn’t climb out, we used it for bottle feeding. Going against safe sleeping advice, we also use it for sleeping in the early weeks when baby just won’t sleep long stretches laying flat.

My boobs have gone up a cup size already and are spilling over. I can't. I really don't want to buy more bras just for the next 3 months, but i need underwire. Stretchy crop top bras don't give me nearly enough support. Why are bras so expensive? *sobs*

Hi ladies! DD1 failed her vision screening at her well check last week and a follow-up with the pediatric ophthalmologist confirmed she needs glasses. We got them this morning and she is so stinking cute!
We also had our weekly figure skating lessons this morning. DD2 is a free spirit who continues to spend a large chuck of the lesson making “snow angels” on the ice. Luckily DD1 seems to be getting our money’s worth. Both girls agree that swim lessons are way more fun (and I agree).

I have a few soft cup nursing bras I got from Motherhood last time that I'll wear for the first few weeks of nursing, but i'm holding off buying underwired nursing bras just because I'll need to remeasure. I'm a 30J, so most nursing bras that are sized large or XL are way too big in the band to give any support. And that size is super expensive and almost impossible to find, so I'll need to make sure it's a good fit for when my milk regulates. I can't wait until I'm done nursing. If they don't shrink enough to a normal size, I"m getting a reduction. And it's going to be amazing.
