I bet it's not anyone in the immediate family, Deja included, because Randall said he wasn't ready to go see her either. But like michyme said, my thought will probably change weekly.

I don't know what to think because Randall didn't want to go either. I can't imagine him thinking that about his daughters or Mom.

What if Deja had a baby and is going to give the baby up or something like that? So they don't wanna go "meet" the baby? Well deja would be late 20s so that's kinda unlikely... I bet it is aging Rebecca.

My mind immediately went to something happened between him and Beth. Split up or something. I felt like the camera kind of flashed on present day her right as old Randall was saying he wasn't ready to see her either.
I don't think it's a death situation because I think Randall would already be by her side.
My heart broke seeing Toby like that.
I liked Beth's sister but idk how I will feel about her and Kevin as a couple yet. Idk if it would feel like them trying to be Randall and Beth 2.0 or what. Plus I really hated that he F'd Sophie over again and I wanted them to work it out.
Eta: and I don't think Randall was talking about Rebecca either. Tess seemed salty when she said she wasn't ready. Rebecca would be super old by then. Being bitter over that wouldn't make much sense as a storyline.

Maybe it's Beth's grave. They don't want to go, aren't ready etc. would make sense.

Randall and Tess seem like they are upset with the person and that's why they don't want to see them but they have to because the person is maybe dying or going through something big. It didn't seem like they were too sad to go, more that they didn't want to go because of something the person had done. I have no clue about it though. I do not like that story arc though!
Also, what about the little boy in foster care? They made it seem like he'd be a part of the family during the season.

It was Jack's screwdriver. Oops, I thought it was an old beer bottle. That wouldn't have made sense because of the sobriety storyline but that's what I though it was.

What about the "aunt"? They all seemed close at the wedding but maybe with getting together with Kevin there was a fallout.
The most realistic would be Beth and Randall split and she gets remarried. I hate this though.
They both seem like they were mad at someone which is why they didn't want to see them but something happens to make "it time."

Just watched.
The "you're not in my way, you are my way" was just....gah. Nice job writers.
I wonder if Toby has like undiagnosed bi-polar or something and they're showing him in a depression phase? I hope whatever it is is short lived.
I truly have no clue who they're going to see. Sounds like someone close who hurt them. I can't imagine it's Beth. Maybe Deja? But it's so far in the future....i wonder what she could have done.
September is like....really, really far away.

Oh, Vietnam, I forgot. I wonder if they're going to retrieve Jack's brother's body or tags or something. I think the theory that Jack fathered a child there is kind of lame.
Do the kids even know that they had an uncle that was killed in action?

Do the kids even know that they had an uncle that was killed in action? They definitely know they had an uncle because jack talked about him when he made Kevin & Randall walk home. I have no idea if they know how he died though. I don’t like that theory either.

Toby was really dazed out in that scene. I assumed his depression was back, but I wonder if maybe he sustains an injury or something?

But Sophie was Kevin’s past and he hurt her so many times. I think he will always love her and vice versa but just because you love someone doesn’t mean you should be together you know? And I think it’s been too much for her.

I think it’s Deja they are talking about. And I actually wouldn’t mind if the story did see Deja fall victim to addictions or crimes or something
That sounds weird, but I mean with her history and her experiences in foster care and life, it’s pretty realistic. And I’d love to see Randall and Tess and the whole family stick with her regardless. She’s had a shit ton of hurt in her life and I think it would be a little insincere to show they just saved her by loving her. I want them to love her and her demons. Like that they chose her, which means all of her and they stick by her even if it’s hard.
The best thing about this show is that good people have demons.

But I'm rewatching season 1 (with my H, who has never seen it) and Sophie is all like "idk Kevin, you hurt me so bad the last time." And he's all "Sophie, I would never hurt you again!" And I'm just like "damnit!!"

I have a horrible memory...did they ever say what happened to Randall's birthmom. OD? Skipped town?

Gah this episode got me teary eyed. It doesn't usually, but when Kate and Rebecca weretalking right before the wedding, it got me in the feels.
I'm thinking maybe Toby is depressed because one of his parents dies? And it hits him harder than he thought? I'm thinking his dad, since they showed him after a second clip of showing depressed Toby.
As for the "her" Randall and Tess go to see, my mind automatically jumped to going to a gravestone. I don't have any solid theories about that one.
6 months is a long time to wait for season 3. Damnit, why couldn't they beven like other shows and end in May?

Randall's birth mom def died before William took him to the firehouse and I'm pretty sure she overdosed, which caused William to stop using. Right? Or did I make that up?
