The best thing in the world is a floating holiday at work when school/daycare is open. I'll be here all day. Yayyyy!!!! Probs going to be a busy day too. Live blog everything! I’m going to need lots of cliff notes. We’re in the last business day before our “friends,” aka the feds, show up next week for our review 😬

I've heard, but wasn't sure how true it is that JFK was really hesitant to name Bobby as AG. As a devoted of Bobby's, do you happen to know if thTs true? In the words of another AG, I do not recall. It's probably somewhere on my giant shelf of Kennedy books. 😬 Wiki says he didn't, but their dad overruled. As he did.

This is fine “In some national-security Cabinet meetings, Pompeo made pronouncements about alleged Iranian misconduct that other officials said weren’t backed up by intelligence-community assessments...” “Pompeo couldn’t help himself,” one official said. t.co/aKWp5NeuDk

+1 to being sad about the state of the world and more specifically the US.
I remember when my son was born, 2007, feeling so hopeful and positive about the world I was bringing him into (he’s my 1st). It was probably blissful ignorance, but I wish I had a shred of that left.
I am also really hoping the Ivanka story is not real, but i’m sure it is and congress will continue to carry on as though it’s totally fine.

"He's changed" as in his dumbassery is on full display for the world. May be past the point of "cry quietly into your money." Apparently the end of my post got eaten- I’m sure he was saying that stuff in person and given that she’s freely used the R word I don’t think their viewpoints are all that dissimilar. I am having a hard time figuring out what exactly that tweet means. So is the divorce a sham just to move assets?

This quote from one of the students. Wow. I have so much respect for the 3 kids who walked out. "The idea that violence should be used against someone who was protesting violence as a means to discipline them is appalling."

Enjoy your day Last time I was home for a snow day was Sam Nunberg day. So anything could happen. I've done drop-off, procured snacks and a dress from Target and now I'm ready to sit on the couch with my coffee and bagel and watch movies/Twitter all day long.

I should also add that I'm now pretty worried for that woman's (who exposed the troll factory) safety....it sounds like she still lives in Russia. What a risk she is taking.

Disgusted doesn't even begin to describe how I feel. I knew there were students who were facing disciplinary action for the walkout but I never imagined that there would be ones who were actually hit. I just...wow. I can't even fathom how this is legal.

I wonder if they brought in Heidi Klum to tell Kelly "you're either in or you're out."

I wonder if they brought in Heidi Klum to tell Kelly "you're either in or you're out." I just don't understand how this could be a productive working environment. Everyone is walking around on eggshells wondering if they are going to be next. This is no way to live. If I were in that situation I would resign. No one should exercise that kind of power or instill this sort of fear. Not that I feel super sad for the people who chose to put themselves in this situation, but it still doesn't sit well with me.

I just can't. WHY is this still a thing. I almost think the most disturbing part of that article was that they adopted the practice in 2005!!! And re-affirmed it's use in 2012. W.T.F

Pretty sure I said this yesterday, but corporal punishment is the norm in the rural south. At home, in schools. Not defending it, but sort of baffled by how shocked people are given how ubiquitous it is. Honestly, having grown up there and putting this into cultural context, getting licks is a much lighter punishment than suspension, which is why the kids took it. I'm sorry, I haven't read. I am definitely guilty of living in a liberal bubble up here, but it is just something that we never would even fathom...even 20 years ago when I was in high school. I quite honestly didn't realize how normalized it was.

In case we needed clarification of proper usage of these terms: work.qz.com/1225213/the-difference-between-a-snafu-a-shitshow-and-a-clusterfuck/?utm_source=qzfbA shitshow. No less an authority than the Oxford English Dictionary describes a shitshow as a “situation or state of affairs characterized by chaos, confusion, or incompetence.” A clusterfuck may come to possess all those characteristics, but is more properly identified by the decisions that produced it than its outcome. ETA the definition of clusterfuck is basically reading the personality traits of DT
