tincupchalice, I have one in my basement that I cut when DS was in my belly (lol 6 years ago), then DD came, now I'm done with babies but it's still there. I may sew it up for my bestie she is due in July. sudokufan, I am in a rut. I haven't even looked here in ages. I got the itch to do something today and now I am looking for a project. Something sewing I think. I may make myself a tote. Dramaphile that is the cutest!! DS has some star wars sheets that aren't in use because he has a queen bed now, I wonder if I could make a little dress or something out of it?!

CestLaVie I am in a no craft funk, too. I just don't want to do anything.

I was working on Dd1's temperature afghan today and on the last row of yellow till I get to march this happened. So I decided to switch to working on Dd2's quiet book that I haven't touched in months, and I can't find my box of embroidery thread. Apparently I'm just meant to do any projects today.

tincupchalice and Dramaphile those are both adorable....also realizing I've been neglecting making clothes for my D lately!

You'd basically treat the fabric the same as you would quilting cotton, so any pattern that works for non-stretch would work. I know people who have made adult dresses out of kids' bedsheets before

I got my patterns for this month's 1940s dress and purse. Pretty excited! Hopefully I'll have fabric by tomorrow but in the meantime I can get pattern pieces ready. I should probably do a muslin, but I never seem to have time.

Love that dress pattern olenka, vintage clothing has so many neat details that you don't see in many modern clothes...like the gathering on that skirt, the back neck darts, etc. The cut outs are neat too - but you see those sometimes still. Boy are those shoulders wide though!

DH forgot to get my sewing machine for my birthday so I ordered it myself.
I also just sorted through my fabric and pulled and packed all the stuff I won't get to until after the move.

I decided to start on teacher appreciation gifts. I have three kids in preschool/elementary so I’m doing three pen toppers per teacher and I’ll make mason jar cozies. So each teacher will get three pens with toppers in a covered jar and a gift card attached.

I had my 1940s dress meetup with three other ladies yesterday! I did a wet set on my hair with rag curls the night before and was pretty shocked at how curly it got, haha! Also made a purse which turned out a little funky, but oh well. PDQ

I love the purse. Well, the whole look actually, but I would use that purse for our monthly dances. It's cute.

Well, it's been a month since I fused these and I just finally finished the stitching on the flowers...not sure you can even tell, but I thought I'd mark the milestone. 5 year old included for scale...and to hold it ;-) Not sure what kind of vase I'm going to do; I'm considering some type of Wedgewood style thingy, like this but not as detailed:

I made a Nessie stuffy for some friends that are having a baby girl this summer. I also have flannel to make blankets and burp rags, but havent started those yet.

OOOOOOOH @chair that is GORGEOUS. I really want to make myself a pretty cream scarf in some lacey stitch, but I never seem to have time...too many other projects crowding my mind I guess. rainbowsockmonkey, that is too cute! What kind of fabric is it, fleece? DS really really wants a new dinosaur stuffie, but I'm a little leery of making it - the last one I made him I used a flannel that was too loosely woven and I've had to repair it soooo many times (but it has lasted 4 years of playing kung fu with DS so that's not too bad a track record). Anyhow, I'm hoping if I use fleece and do as much of the stitching as possible on the sewing machine it'll hold up better.

rainbowsockmonkey, is that a Choly Knight pattern? I've done her tiny dino and narwhal and I bought her chubby dragon pattern but got sidetracked by other projects.

Thanks rainbowsockmonkey! This is what DS and I have planned: www.etsy.com/transaction/1415036870I'm going to turn it into a stuffie instead of a pajama bag - I think that'll be straightforward, just remove the allowance for the velcro closure and stitch shut. The harder part is that it calls for a lot of hand sewing and I'm going to find ways to avoid that...If it turns out nice, maybe I'll use minky on the next one. It's so soft.

I made a couple of the narwhal last fall for a cousin that had twins. I also bought the unicorn one when it was on sale in march. The narwhals.

rainbowsockmonkey, those are adorable. Here's my latest project - I was waiting on starting this until I had my new machine and I"m glad I did! Next up, pirate outfits for Pirate Fest, and some post partum pads for me.
