Also, does anyone have experience with Geico car insurance? Have you ever needed it in the case of an accident/claim? We've been with USAA for years, both have clean records, etc. and out of curiosity DH decided to shop rates. Geico, in particular, came in $600 cheaper annually for the exact same coverage as we have currently.
I guess I just wonder how they can be so much cheaper...like, is customer service terrible/is it a nightmare to deal with them in the event of an accident, etc.

Hello hello. Lazy Saturday here. I am over it raining every weekend, but at least got a little run/walk in before it starts. I really want to go to the mall to go to the peleton store and was hoping j would go with me so mh could study, but he is being a pill.
There was a miscommunication about n moving to the other side of her class yesterday...the new teacher was telling me that she's moving to her class and I'm oh wow, okay, what's Ms. X think about that? (who LOVES N) and then she walks in and turns out she hadn't heard about the transitions and was noticeably upset/shocked. I feel awful...I feel like she thinks I was being rude, but genuinely knew she'd be upset about this and she found out in an unfortunate way. We talked at the end of the day and she was still upset, but I don't think with me. I am actually fine with it since in the same room and the classes are mixed after 4pm and she's ready for soccer and yoga and the bigger stuff, just hate hurt feelings. I need to get her something for Monday.

We do $1k deductible.

Have fun at your play date chrisy01 & cagoldi!! xolastunicornxo You guys are always doing fun stuff! I’m looking forward to next year when Letty is in a better stage to take out to do fun stuff. Right now she’s in the awful stage where it’s hard to even go eat somewhere. I’m doing homework all day. I’m very happy with my decision to only take one class this 8 weeks. It’s a heavy math workload for someone who is not a math person. 🙋🏼♀️

It makes me nervous to make a change, b/c USAA is well-regarded for their customer service, etc. But at the same time, I don't want to overpay for something, and I can think of a lot of things I'd rather spend $600 on if all else is equal. DH is on the phone haggling with USAA now, so I guess we'll see what happens.

H just snapped me a pic of Evie in the most hideous new outfit and shoes my MIL must have bought her. I know this is par for the course, but damn.
We have...different tastes, you could say 😉

flamingo I’d just double check to make sure it’s the EXACT same coverage & deductible, etc. maybe USAS will lower your rates if they know you may switch.

flamingo we have never had an issue with geico. We switched away for home owner package that was cheaper. But funny story, they are the "government employee insurance company" but when I added mh they had no discount for govt employees at his (at the time ) low pay grade.

kim22 I think inthekitty has a border collie mix. They are wonderful dogs but like flamingo said, they are very high energy. That’s why you always see them in those crazy frisbee competitions and stuff. Aside from the energy my only concern with small children are that they are herding dogs so with some of them if you run around them they try to herd you and nip at your heels to keep you in line which could lead to injury. Again though, if you exercise them enough some of that goes away and with a mix it’s not a given. IMO given how hectic your schedules can be with all your kids, I would go for a dog with a bit lower energy. Like a lab mix. Someone they can keep up and run around with the kids, but won’t go stir crazy if you have s hockey double header and can’t do a long hike.

I ended up organizing/purging all of Cs toys and books. Although this didn’t require a lot since I sat on the floor, I somehow overdid it and my butt is killing me. We then went to the arcade and won two stuffed animals. C is sleeping and I am soon behind him.

sands42 how terrible! wedding or anyone else who may know, how are Border Collies and children? We are beginning our dog search and I keep finding cute ones. My mom has 2. They try to herd my kids and nip at their heels. I would pass on any herding dog.

wineallthetime I would love to have a family member with a restaurant. My BFF's dad owns a few Italian places, but a place that serves brunch would be divine. Do you live close to your sis? It's delicious! We are about 20 min from their restaurant, so pretty close! I had a blueberry jam and bacon slider on a waffle bun, a jerk chicken with cinnamon sugar butter on a clove waffle bun and jalapeño cornbread poppers with cream cheese frosting. I'm stuffed!

Hey. This afternoon is S’s birthday party and I’ve been going since I got up. My house is 85% ready for guests. I’m leaving in 45 minutes to pick up balloons and the cake. I’m finally sitting on my butt and relaxing for a minute.

sands42 oh Rylands not always a gem to take out, but I think all my kids do pretty well only because it’s all they know. We don’t have family close by and I hate being stuck in the house so the kids have always gone everywhere with us (movie, restaurants)from the time they were babies.

nam2013 Ha! She just buys things with lots going on. Like this was sparkle shirt, sparkle pants and sparkle shoes along with lots of loud florals. Don't get me wrong, I love a well-placed sparkle or pattern...but all together is a bit "whoa". wineallthetime That sounds amazing! I am proud of you for taking full advantage of the menu.

Going to my best friends house for dinner. I haven't seen their new house so I'm excited. The kids are car napping with A while I grab some groceries. It poured all night and all morning. I'm so tired of the dreary weather.

DH called and USAA was able to get it within $50 of the Geico quote so we’re going to stay put. We bank with them and carry other forms of insurance thru them so I like having it all under one umbrella if possible. Just goes to show, it’s worth calling.

Thank you flamingo wedding peachsmama we had a yellow lab and he was wonderful. We will probably end up with a lab of some sort. We have a 4 day hockey tournament in PA next months and then I want to find the dog.

kim22 whatever my border collie is mixed with makes her the greatest dog ever. Has never nipped at the kids. Really well trained. I take her on bike rides with me and she runs alongside me like a champ. Energy level is not spastic--i was concerned about this, but one good walk a day and she's fine. I often take her out on the bike so I can wear her out fast on work days. She loves walking to the bus stop and visiting with all the kids. She's very gentle. She naps in her crate most afternoons. She loves to join us for errands even if she doesn't get out of the car Her only bad trait is if she gets really bored she'll chew the drywall. That doesn't happen often though. I would get another one because she's been awesome. I'd also consider some type of spaniel.

Sitting in the pedicure chair with a mimosa...it is slightly embarrassing bc I have a bit of polish on just my big toes that has been there for I’m ashamed to say how long. Needless to say, I need to be here.
DH and I are going to do wings tonight once the kids go to bed and watch more of The Americans—we started it when I was pregnant with C but I’ve forgotten almost everything so we went back to the very beginning. So good!

Feel better nam2013! I want to dine with you wineallthetime. Worky work. I drove over with my friend. He was fine leaving later and has the same game plan as me to get out of here as quick as possible tomorrow. It was nice to drive with him because he was good company and the pass was a mess. Driving home tomorrow will be interesting. My NCO came through and got me "less shitty lodging" and it's actually decent for WWII barracks.

kim22 our younger dog is supposed to be a border collie/spaniel mix. I definitely see the collie in her. She is great with Evie, smart, I don't consider her high energy, but as I've mentioned I had a lab before that chewed drywall and was impossible to keep kenneled. I'll take my collie mix over a lab any day.

I told my eye doctor these new contacts aren't cutting it.
