Even though I didn’t really do anything today, today flew by. I can’t believe it is almost 4pm!

Faith is 4 weeks old today! She is spending more time awake and is getting better with her head control and lifting her head up. She is a noisy little thing, she snores, she grunts and "sings" a good chunk of the day and it is both cute and annoying. We swaddle only at night because I'm lazy. I need to stop letting her sleep on me so much, but I love having her sleeping on my chest. Is anyone co-sleeping? I have pulled her into bed with me a few times when she was fussy and we both needed sleep and I want to make sure that I'm doing it at safely as possible. The few times I've done it we have both slept good for a few hours... I never thought I would be a co-sleeper, but if that is the only way to get sleep at times then I want to do it safely. We co-sleep. I never thought I’d do it either, but I literally could not stay awake while nursing DS1, and it seemed safer to co-sleep than to fall asleep and slump over/fall. Our routine so far is that I put DS2 down in the RNP for the first stretch of sleep, wake up and nurse, and then we side-lie nurse and co-sleep the second half of the night. Make sure baby is secured in a way where the she can’t roll off bed. Make sure blankets can’t be pulled up on her. I put on a sweatshirt in the night before co-sleeping so I can leave the covers at my waist. I side-lie nurse while co-sleeping so baby is on his side under my arm at my breast. I also use an Owlet at night so I have an extra layer of reassurance.

NOOOOO..... James was finally taking a nap that didn't require me to hold him. He was sleeping in the RNP for 20 minutes and the damn doorbell rang. Guess who is awake now?!?

aprilz81 I’ve bedshared with all 3 of mine as infants. I also was a hard no as a ftm with DS but around 2 months I was so tired I started accidentally doing it and realized how much better our sleep was, so I adjusted what I was doing too. And now it’s the only way I know to teach my babies nighttime is bedtime so I just kept rolling with it (N will actually occasionally spend sometime in the RNP too which is nice for a break) Is there anything specific you are wondering? We transferred the first two to their cribs around 6-8 months old which coincided with me ending bfing and switching to formula both times. Adding that I moved DS1 out of our bed around 6.5 months (did sleep training). It went well so I’m not worried about “creating bad habits” by bed sharing now. Love the cuddles and I get wayyyyy more sleep.

Guys, we were charged $700 freaking dollars for a 5 minute tongue tie clipping while still in the hospital... I didn't expect it to be free but jeez... That epidural they told me not to get will cost us $900. The cost of it did not go through my mind at the time... it wouldn’t have made a difference though. I was not in sane mind! It boggles my mind that I was billed $8,000 for my birth by the hospital. I had a vaginal med-free birth and was there for literally 25 hours. No doctor, no anesthesia, basically only Motrin, needed hardly any nurse care, like how in the world was that 8k!!?!?!? I mean I won’t pay that much because of insurance, but still crazy it’s the bill. That does not include the bill for my midwife/prenatal care.

Still waiting to go to the hospital to get induced! Was supposed to be 7 this morning and now have to call back at 6:30 and see what their plan is, could get pushed back until the morning and I’m not sure if the morning will be guaranteed or if I’ll have to keep calling. Ugh, it’s super frustrating and this has been the longest day ever. My DS keeps asking when his grandparents will be here, but they are only 20 minutes away and I didn’t want anyone here ahead of time. I am at least thankful I made that decision because between the two families they would have drove me nuts if they were here. So sorry you’re having to wait!!!

TMI - Help my bottom.
My bottom is so sore. Its like chafing. there is some itching and a bump by my butt that I'm not sure if its a hemmroid or just its swollen between two stitches. I'm 3w pp. this is new within the last week or so. I had bad tearing and obviously still have stitches. Can I use anything on it? Like prep H? Diaper cream? Baby Powder?

I coslept with DD1 for the first 4 months too doing this as well.

My mom just texted me that my dad apparently switched his vacation week at work from sometime in April to next week!
He was on vacation time when DD1 was born as well. I teased her that he'll be spending half his week waiting again! 😂
But really its very awesome. He usually takes vacation in warmer weather so he can do stuff around their house so this is obviously so nice. Plus my mom will have E while we are in the hospital, so it will be good for her to have help!

yellow711 , this was going around on my DD's BMB and it is really delicious. Its super unhealthy. great for a party but too rich for everyday food imo. Ingredients 3-cups Large Elbow Macaroni+ 1-package (16oz) Velveeta Process Cheese, Cube 2-cups (8oz) Shredded Mexican Cheese Blend 2-cups (8oz) Shredded Sharp Cheddar Cheese 1 ¾-cup Whole Milk 1-can Evaporated Milk ¾-cup Melted Butter 3 Eggs, Lightly Beaten Directions 1. Cook Macaroni according to package directions for al dente; drain. Transfer to a 5-qt slow cooker. Stir in remaining ingredients. (I usually turn the crock pot on low and throw in the process cheese and melted butter while I’m waiting for the pasta to cook so that the big block of cheese can start to melt a little before you mix in everything else). 2. Cook, covered, on low 2 – 2.5 hours (or on high for 1 - 1.5 hours). Only stirring a few times. Serves 16 people at ¾ cups each.

I'm having terrible bum issues. I think mine is an internal hemorrhoid or fissure. I was fine for 2 weeks pp and then bam it hit. It hurts to use the restroom and then hurts really bad afterward. I bought some hemorrhoidal suppositories today and Colace. Yours sounds like an external hemorrhoid. I'd get some Tucks pads, Prep H cream, and start taking Colace. And try not adjust how you sit if possible so it doesn't always get direct pressure in the same place if that makes sense.

benandjerrys try using toddler wipes to clean, pat only, then pat dry and use either prep H or tucks pads. Itch is likely a hemmi. I'm fortunate enough to have gotten them in my first pg and they have graced my life ever since 🙄 Also keep on taking colace and stay super hydrated. It'll help things move more quickly and not irritate it /them.
