pixiepink24 I LOVE centering! I'm really sad I won't have it this time. Both my boys were born with a midwife practice in a hospital that did centering. I did it for both pregnancies and still keep up with some of the moms. It's group prenatal care in a low stress setting. So basically we are snacks and talked about symptoms and how we were feeling, and one at a time the midwife would do the solo stuff like fundal height and stuff off to the side. It's like a irl bmb because we were all due the same month. And then we'd all get together with the midwife and talk about a topic each time like nutrition or exercise orbirth positions. It was a really great experience and I'm hella awkward in person generally, but I actually really liked it.

pixiepink24, blurnette989, my MW's office offers something similar. I didn't do it last time b/c of my loss history and I was actually a little nervous about sharing my story and scaring others. A little silly I know, but I think I want to do it this time around. It sounds really interesting. I sent DS to daycare in a big brother t-shirt today. Not one of the staff noticed it! Maybe by p/u time they'll have?!

flutterfly88 one of the reasons I loved centering was the variety of experiences. We were there to support each other. Everyone had different experiences and birth plans and it gave us all perspective. In fact one mom ended up having a very traumatic birth, where her son was born in the lobby, but not breathing. He didn't breathe for half an hour and finally did but was in NICU for some time and we all visited together in NICU. It was very special to be able to be there for each other.

flutterfly88, pixiepink24, blurnette989 - My office has 3 options for care - the OBs, midwives, and Centering. I had looked into Centering when I found out I was pregnant the first time and couldn't do it because I wasn't going to be able to make the meeting times when they fell during month-end at work. Seemed like a great option though!

What is everyone wearing these days? My yoga pants are either tight around belly from the bloat or the next size up is too big and baggie in the legs. So I either feel frumpy or like a sausage.
Will the bloat go down before the bump starts showing? I forget everything.

shawnspencer - Maternity pants. I've moved into maternity for jeans and yogas. It felt early but I was tired of stuff cutting into my stomach.

I was debating ordering some maternity yoga pants. I mean, who cares as long as I'm comfortable right? I'm trying to convince myself.

I got to the point where regular jeans + belly band were too tight and were making my nausea worse so I made the switch a couple weeks ago. No one can tell I'm wearing maternity pants so why not wear them and be more comfortable?

OMG. 2017 UPPAbaby strollers just went 20% off at participating retailers because the 2018's were released. For how expensive they are, 20% is huge. I fully intend on upgrading from my Cruz to a Vista for my double stroller but I'm struggling with the idea of buying something so expensive for baby #2 before I've even had my first u/s.
Although apparently they upgraded the front wheels on the 2018 version so maybe I want that one anyway.
Ugh. Why did I have to fall in love with such an expensive brand!!

Just made my first appointment with the closer distance midwife/OB office and now I'm having all kinds of feelings. Mostly feeling uneasy about switching from the birth center practice that I loved (that is far away but not unmanageably so). It's a month away, so I guess I have plenty of time to consider it more. And I scheduled a hospital tour at the hospital they deliver at to see what it's like, which would be a week before my appointment.

shawnspencer I busted out my black maternity leggings last week too. They were baggy in the belly, but I wore a loose sweater over them anyways. I'm mostly at home wearing comfy pants, but if I needed to wear jeans for some reason, it would absolutely be maternity jeans! Might as well just embrace it. You're gonna need them eventually anyway, so just get them now and be comfortable!

I've been wearing maternity jeans or still trying to make my belly band work. Just ordered a bunch of pants since I didn't need any maternity clothes until almost summer with DD.

Not going to lie, I've been wearing random maternity clothes for the past 3 years.... Not really for necessity, just because I'm cheap and they are comfortable. Lol!
I did just buy some leggings I liked in a large at Ross. They are perfect for my bloat.

No doubt in my mind that I was going for the Vista when it was time for a double.

I singed off all my forearm hair today because of pregnancy brain. My dumbass reached across the stove burner I left on and immediately it was gone. Now my arm smells so gross. 🤢

Not sure if I should even get the extra seat because DS will be 3.4 but the kid loves his stroller rides. Tough choice. Definitely look into the weight and height limits because the rumble seat has lower limits and an infant won't be able to use it immediately so that may make the decision for you. DS will only be 2 when this one arrives and he's a little guy so we'll be able to use the rumble seat for him until we eventually switch #2 to the rumble seat and DS back to the regular seat.

I have been debating about a double stroller, my LO will be about the same age as your when this new one arrives. (he is a May15 baby) I just don't know if I will get enough use out of it.

I think we will just see if we can use the stroller set I had for her. I have a really crapppy double umbrella stroller that I was using the last year and a half for the girl I nanny (oct 14) and my DD but they haven't used it in months. I'll also be babywearing as much as possible in the beginning.

Also I don't fit most of my pre-pregnancy clothes from the first kid, so...

I wore maternity jeans for so long because I refused to buy a bigger size then because I finally decided to buy some but couldn't find any I liked. Finally found some and I'm back into maternity, lol.

Hi everyone! Hope it’s been a decent week so far. Toddler is sleeping for crap so everything feels off this week. We skipped gymnastics this morning in favor of donuts and a target run. Gimme all the carbs right now.
I literally just got back into one pair of pre baby jeans. 18 months to the day and now a month later they don’t button!

My pre-baby jeans/pants never really fit right again. I could get them on, but I think my hips and everything are now shaped very differently! I think I need a taller rise maybe? I would have been happy to buy whatever size I needed for them to fit right, but I just couldn't find anything that fit my new shape! Plus, I don't have time to spend hours and hours trying on damn pants.... And I'm cheap and refuse to spend more than maybe $30-40 on a pair of jeans.....! I've lost most of my pregnancy weight, but my body still is soooo different. I try not to let myself think about how foreign my body will seem after #2 😕

tbirdlove I hear ya! One of those funny things nobody tells you about! I was so concerned with losing the baby weight but didn’t realize regardless I would look different. Same with tops!

tbirdlove+1 to body being so different. I was literally just a pound or two off of my prepregnancy weight at the time I got my BFP but I look so much bigger. My weight is carried completely different now. I really hope I can keep healthy during the next 8 months. But it probably also has to do with aging. I'm no spring chicken anymore 😉

It was sunny and mid-70's yesterday and now it's low-30's and snowing. That's New England in a nutshell.

I was thinking that maybe we could do a getting to know you thread just to learn a little but more about everyone. I wasn't sure if anyone would be interested or if we should wait a little longer, but I'd be interested to know more about you ladies if you want to share!

Maybe we could also make a roster? I’m not tech savvy enough to make one but I’ve had them on past BMBs and it’s a handy way to keep track of everyone’s due dates and basic info.
