My 3 year old also likes to say things like "wow, your tummy is getting huge!" I give her a pass since she is so happy about it. My 5yo asks if she can hug baby sister about 10 times a day, then she says “aw, she’s so cute!”, lol. I hope this baby is as cute as she imagines or I’ll have a disappointed big girl. My other favorite is "mommy, why is he not answering me?" Dude, it's going to be a LONG time before he says I love you back.

I have the rage today. Let’s just say that I will be having meetings with bosses because of the rage.

Today was such a gorgeous day! It was supposed to be in the 60's but ended up being 75. DS and I went for a walk and then played at the playground. It was so nice and it's a bummer that tomorrow we are back in the 40's😞

Successful doctor's appointment. Heart rate was in the 150's and my BP was good too! Weather is gorgeous so I decided not to go back to work. 😊

My back hurts today, which is odd. I hardly ever have back pain even when pregnant. I'm considering going out to by a heating pad for work. And now my belly is feeling tight and uncomfortable too. What is up with me today? Back pain was a sign of a Uti for me last pregnancy. Hope it goes away soon!!

DD (5) has been rubbing my belly every day when I pick her up from preschool and asking about her baby brother. She's planning all the stories she wants to read to him and has been kissing my belly She felt some kicks this weekend too (I'll be 23w Thur) and she's the only one to feel an outside kick so far. Most if the stuff I'm feeling is super low and focused towards my bladder, so that's fun She did get a look at my stretch marks the other day, asked about them, and told me I should put them away, so she's balancing it out a little Thats cute and funny. When my sister was pregnant she would sit on the couch with her belly out. My DS would pull her shirt down and tell her to put her big belly away. 😂

To discuss the issues causing the rage. I was in the right, I just reacted a little more strongly than I normally do. But for some reason when I get mad and get attitude with co-workers they cheer me on. I guess they like to see me feisty every now and then.

I'm struggling with water intake today. I'll probably hit 64oz but no more. I just haven't been that thirsty.

FIL started painting DS new room and we are going to buy his bedroom set tomorrow. I can't wait until his room is done! I just ordered a new rug so now it's just a matter of DH putting all the furniture together and changing out his new ceiling fan. Then it's off to starting the nursery🤗

That makes me more gaggy than when I was having a lot of nausea.

I am in “waiting for the ultrasound tech” hell again. I specifically scheduled the first appointment of the day to avoid the 90 min wait from last time but apparently that didn’t help in the least. I am so freaking frustrated.

Ok A/S done but they couldn’t see the heart well for some reason and are referring me to an MFM who will repeat the scan in two weeks. I am trying to be cool about this but it isn’t working.

With our last A/S, it took a few tries to see all the chambers of the heart clearly. She kept coming back to it but the baby wouldn't cooperate. I'm sure it's nothing and just the baby's position.
Sounds like everything else looked good so that's great news. I hope the next couple of weeks fly by and you get your reassurance in no time!

Thanks for the reassurance. Last pregnancy I had to come in again and have the scan repeated to get a better view of the heart also but they didn’t send me to a different doctor for it. The whole MFM referral is throwing me off a bit. I was surprised and didn’t ask enough questions.

sorry catspajamas2, that sounds really stressful. can you get your OB to call you back and explain more about why you need the referral when you didn't need one last time? seems weird to send you to another doctor when the issue was just with not getting a good view.

catspajamas2 - I agree with PP. I think you should call your OB and ask for more information regarding why that referral was made. I'm sorry, that's sounds really stressful.

I'm trying to find a backup plan for childcare since our current center has a waiting list until January and it's stressing me out. I'm thinking about breast pumps. I had PISA with my first and it was just ok. I'm thinking I want a Spectra this time. Has anyone used a Spectra? What are your thoughts on it? catspajamas2, please call back and ask any questions you have. That's what they are there for and you will feel so much better.

Also, I'm looking at real estate, which is bad. I've never loved our current house and it needs a lot of work to get ready for this baby. We have three bedrooms, but one serves as a guestroom since our parents stay with us often. We need to finish our basement (at least enough to make it livable) in order to have room for the baby and guests. DH is pretty adamant that he doesn't want to move, but I would rather do that and get a house that I love. I get DH's point. We've moved so often over the years and it's so $$, but I don't feel quite settled either.

PennyCandy, I've used both pumps. I didn't notice an output difference. Some swear the Spectra is better, others say Medela. The biggest drawback to the spectra for me was parts availability. Once I found out I was eligible for free part replacement every quarter through insurance, I was able the stockpile spares. But prior to that, if I broke a piece (which happened), I had to wait a few days for a replacement because I couldn't get the parts from a local medical supply store. A lot of people comment on how quiet the spectra is. I didn't notice a difference but I never ran them side by side either. I had the Spectra with internal rechargeable battery and really liked that feature. I found the pump suction with the PISA to decrease using the battery pack. I personally prefer the Spectra. It doesn't come with a bag but it's easy to use any tote. And, because you have a Medela, you already have the little cooler with bottles and ice pack. I continued to use that with the Spectra. The only reason I opted for the Spectra is because insurance would cover it for free so I couldn't lose.

yeah, PennyCandy did you find out which pump(s) are covered through your insurance? i have only ever used the PISA but i agree that the easy parts availability was a plus. i will probably get one again if it's covered through my insurance just because i have so many spare parts for it already.

Thanks ladies for your support, I called and talked to the nurse. She said that its more common for them to do the referral now as the practice was purchased by a bigger medical group and as part of that some of their policies have changed. In my heart I really don't think anything is wrong. The whole appointment just threw me for a loop and my stress was off the charts. I was really stressed about missing my big work meeting and them being late so I was missing even more work and then the u/s issue was like the straw that broke me. I cried pathetically in the parking lot of a grocery store near my office for 15 minutes then I got my act together and am doing better. Now to wait until March 7th.

PennyCandy, I love my Spectra S2. I had the Ameda Purely yours with my first and really struggled to keep up. I was pumping every two hours and power pumping daily to get a boost. The Spectra was night and day different/better. The S2 is hospital grade, so maybe that’s why it was so much better. The equipment rep actually tried to convince me that I wanted a less powerful, more easily transportable model when I was ordering but the suction power was much more important to me. So happy with that decision. I also got freemies (covered by insurance) that fit inside a normal nursing bra to make pumping hands free - much more convenient than having a special pumping bra.

catspajamas2, I'm glad the nurse was able to reassure you! Stress + hormones is no joke. I feel like I hit the bra lottery today. I finally found a bralette that works for my small band, big cup sized chest and it was only $22 including shipping from the UK. M&S sells it, if anyone's curious. It's so great.
